Hello! I've just bought my Xperia I've 'rooted' it with root tool v11 I've to say it got stuck at cleaning files or something, as my phone got locked an this moment :/ so I disconnected and root was allowed but soon I noticed it didn't mount system as RW I've tried with the command described as 0 > sys/kernel/security/ric/enable but it says Unable to create file permission denied, so I checked on this directory and It doesn't have enabled file! Should I root again? I DONT want to flash Rom by flashtool again! How can I simply fix this?? Thanks In Advance
I'm on stock 14.4.A.0.108

Hi every one
wondering if there was any app that would let us browse the Root of the phone in windows ,
Using ADB is quite hard i think ...
just want to remove an app , and add another one to /system/app
tried Root Explorer on the phone , but the deleted program magically reappears after a reboot
any help would be appreciated !
thanks !

Were you in Recovery when you attached via Root Explorer?
You can't delete anything from /system whilst the phone is fully booted due to the NAND protection.
Also, take a look at Android Commander.
Regards,
Dave
thanks for the reply , but Adroid Commander Didnt solve my problem , it can't edit /system , since the phone is fully booted ( as u mentioned )
and no , i was not in recovery mode , since ROOT exploerer is installed on my phone , i have to boot it , to use it
thanks !
I thought you said you wanted a Windows app - Android Commander should work fine as long as you boot into Recovery.
There is currently *no* true solution for amending /system whilst the phone is booted, though some people are working on AUFS/UNIONFS workarounds which IMHO, are always going to be a suboptimal solution, and in most cases R/W access via Recovery is the better solution (things like Metamorph not withstanding!).

Dave
yes , i need a program to edit /system on windows
i read on their webpage ( androidcommande.com ) that it needed USB Debugging to work correctly so i tried it with the phone on and bootedc , but didn;'t work and didn't change /system .

You have to mount the appropriate filesystem(s) from Recovery first!
If you are using ClockworkMod recovery, go into the partitions menu and select mount for any file systems you wish to access. Then connect via AndroidCommander and you'll be able to see the files.
Regards,
Dave
Thanks !
used Clockwork as u suggested , mont /system/ , then adb remount
Searched for some ADB tutorials and got it via the commands
was a bit confused bout "shell" or "not to shell "
but everything worked fine
Thanks again for all ur help !

Have you read any of the threads or did you just download the files and try rooting? Cuz, I swear the answer to any question you might have about rooting is in at least five of the threads about rooting the P930.
I've read through the threads, i tried superoneclick and doomlord from the posts. I don't know if I'm doing something wrong, but i always get failed, my phone restarts and it's not rooted. I've never rooted an android, i need help.

I've been told that this works so give it a try but 'READ' it all 2-3 times before going ahead so you don't fail, I will be trying it on my LG Nitro/P935 after Christmas Day and will report back but there are many others with issues that were solved from what I've read in this thread:

I finally got the phone to root with Bin4ry. It worked like a champ. Now I'm having issues with clockworkmod recovery flashing. I found the bc64-recovery.img and put it on my sdcard. When i tried to use the terminal emulator to set this as the recovery file but the:
=> su
=> cd / sdcard
=> cat bc64-recovery.img > /dev/block/mmcblk0p13
says the access is denied to set as the recovery file. Any help would be appreciated. I've also deleted and reinstalled the TE app and there is no permisions to allow in the superuser app.

What model of the LG Nitro do you have 'P930/P935' or other and did you at least try the link I gave you, just asking?

So... you've read all the threads about rooting the Nitro but neglected seeing where it specifically says in almost every thread that you can't install CWM on offical Ice Cream Sandwich? You have to unbrick if you have official ICS if you want ClockWorkMod. Pick any of the links below. All of them root and install CWM. There is no other way at the moment.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2044645 (Personally, I think this is the easiest)

This being my first post a HI EVERYBODY is in order.
On with the show.
So, I managed to unlock my bootloader via htcdev website, i slapped on the cwm recovery and managed to put a custom rom on my cell.
The rom in question is the jellyking, works fine, everything is great.
PROBLEM:
although ive tried several cm10 roms i liked jellyking the most but on all of them i had troubles getting root.
what happens is that i download es file manager, set it to give me root and mount system as RW, popup says that the preinstalled (with rom) superuser app granted those rights and that everything should be superb, but I couldnt copy files from my sd to lets say /system/media (wanted to change my bootanim) it says file copy failed, only once i did manage to copy a file but i dont know how.
The question:
when i put a custom rom, do i need to reapply the famous root.zip or maybe install busybox as my first app or maybe flash over the existing superuser app the superSU app which seems to update the root binaries sucessfully.
BOTTOM LINE:
What is the exact (if any) procedure that I need to follow to get perm root access (copy rights) to my own phone, each and every reboot.
Thanks in advance for all Your insights,
Humbly,
egr2lrn
I rooted and unlocked my first ls980 using this tutorial (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2655133) a few weeks ago and all is fine and I'm very happy !
Now, today I tried to do exactly the same with another ls980 (zva, stock rom) but for whatever reason I can't copy apns-conf.xml in /etc/.
So yes, I'm rooted ! (at least root checker says im rooted)
I tried ##3424# Enable diag mode, not better !
Usb debugging is on !
So I don't know why I don't have permissions..
Totalcommander gives me an error on transfer and I cannot edit, rename or remove any files in /etc/
Es filer explorer (allowed in supersu) tells me permission denied
any ideas ?
Thanks much
root
root the phone again through the ioroot method. or try to install busybox on your phone. good luck!
I also had this issue, what I did is to copy the file to your phone ( I placed it in downloads), then use your root browser to copy and paste the file over to where you need, you can also delete telephony.db this way, hope this helps
Hey guys, thanks for your answers its much appreciated !
I solved the problem using root browser, so thanks again for your help
Hi, im new here and i need help. i've tried posting in the ARHD thread but the system informed me that im not allowed yet to post there. so here's my problem:
see, ive flashed my phone with ARHD V30 and used an app called root checker to see if my device is rooted which it positively verified so, that my phone is rooted. but when i tried to paste some files in the system/usr/keylayout, my phone informed me that said folder was read-only. so i tried using android commander, but to no avail. i tried checking my phone status using android commander and it showed that my phone is not rooted. did i do something wrong when i was flashing arhd? or do i need to root my phone again? if yes, can you point me in the right direction. im on ND3 BL btw. and i habe super su installed and twrp as my custom recovery. thanks!

Go to playstore and update your supersu if not already updated, also in es file explorer you need to mount your system to R/W to be able to copy paste things into system folder. In order to give the system read and write access open es file explorer ,hit menu key then click on extreme left of root explorer (make sure root is checked as you see in the screenshot) then click on R/W then next window make sure all the options are selected on the extreme right column, hit okay and go about pasting files in /system
