[Q] GoldCard for Wildfire S

I have Wildfire S with Asian firmware but i want to convert it to European one.
Can I use the Modaco's GoldCard Tool to create a goldcard and then simply flash Europe RUU?

I'm pretty sure goldcards work the same way and are universal across all android devices.

Hi!!
Yes, you can flash your Wildfire S and convert it to an European model.
You need a GoldCard. They are universal and work in all Wildfire S Models. Please, be aware that they don't work in all android models (for example, they don't work in HTC Sensation) but in this case, yes, they work in ALL wildfire S.
So you just need to create one goldcard.
If you try to flash the european firmware and get "CID Incorrect" error that means that you have not created the GoldCard properly.
If you get "Main Version is Older" error, you have created your GoldCard successfully but attempting to do a firmware downgrade, so your device rejected the firmware.
This can be solved flashing the Misc Partition with an earlier version number that the one you are trying to install. Please be careful flashing your Misc Partition as your device might be bricked.
You may find a tutorial in this forum about how to flash your Misc Partition.

Hi friends
I got a wildfire s from vodafone spain and because it's full of junk I want to install the retail rom...so I made a goldcard as explained in this forum and it seems it worked all right , I put the zip file on it (also downloaded from a link in this forum) but now if I want to flash it nothing happens
If I press volume down and power absolutely nothing happens and when I release it just boots as usual and not in download mode ....any ideas what the problem might be ?

Dears
My wildfire S rom version is 1.35.720.3, How can I found whats my phone's region?
ASIAN? EUROPEAN or something else?
Other question is that can I install "OTA_Marvel_HTC_ARA_1.47.415.1_R3-1.33.401.2" on my phone? in HBOOT mode phone detect the update, check it and then returns to main HBOOT menu and wont install it.

I saw it before, but unfortunately I can not find 1.35.720.3 in the list, just these have same RADIO as mine (47.10.35.30 29H)

You may have an error message saying that the version is too old.
But you can try, you will not brick your phone anyway.
If your phone is S-OFF and rooted, you can wipe cache and data, flash a custom rom like this one : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1186354 (thanks to Alquez). You will return to 1.33.401.2.
For your second question OTA_Marvel_HTC_ARA_1.47.415.1 ROM is an arabic language ROM.

my phone is s-on and not rooted yet.
as you mentioned "OTA_Marvel_HTC_ARA_1.47.415.1" is arabic and I want to enable arabic language on my phone to read PERSIAN.
but after booting to HBOOT, the phone detect the update, check it and then return to HBOOT menu, and wont install any thing.
I want to know how can I force phone to install the update!

Sometimes, the problem is the Goldcard, it not works correctly.
Before I was rooted and S-OFF, I managed to update my phone till 1.30 version to 1.33.
I've maid my goldcard with this tutorial. It isn't very difficult, you just have to follow each step carefully.

Chapi, The sugessted way is a little bit risky! I bricked a MOTOROLA recently so I am afraid to do any risky modification.
So I have to wait for a newer version of Europe shipped rom.

@Chapi666 I have the version 1.33.401.2 and I'm trying to unlock its bootloader via HTCDEV method but this version is not in the list on their website. How should I proceed? Do i need to update anything? BTW i tried the hasoon ALL-IN-ONE tool but it failed to give me unlock token. Thanks in advance.

so i decided to try to install a custom rom, i tried HD Revolution..
I copied the ROM file, then followed steps, like flashed superswipe then flashed the rom in the recovery... the custom rom is based on a different version, so it failed to install, then since i did a superswipe, now all files including system files on my phone is gone, it's completely empty
now my phone boots only up to the HTC logo screen...
the only solution that i can think is to flash RUU of 1.29.707.11.. is there any other option on how to fix this???

I'm facing the same problem as you too. I think I'm in a "bootloop", can't get pass the HTC one(TM) screen with the beatsaudio logo at the bottom. You are facing the same thing too?
Like you, I have tried a few versions of RUU (ASIA WWE 1.28.707.10 and ASIA SEA WWE 1.29.728.12), the first one gave me an Error 140: Bootloader version error, and the second one i got an Error 130: Model ID Error. I was previously on 1.29.707.11.
Other than waiting for the RUU version to come out, have you thought of any ideas? I tried mounting the device in recovery mode and try to push a custom rom img file over, but i couldn't mount it at all. Would have been easier if there is an external microSD card slot. Never thought highly of the feature until now...
How I got into this mess in the first place? I was just trying to remove the irritating 3-dot menu at the bottom of most apps, and trying to save some screen real estate. Much regrets...
By the way, which country is your device from? Mine is from Malaysia.

First some ground rules:
-You have to use your region's RUU (XXX in RUU x.xx.XXX.x name)
-You cannot install previous version of RUU on your phone once you install a newer version with a newer HBOOT. It won't work.
-With most custom ROMs, since they don't upgrade HBOOT even though they use a newer base such as 401.11, you have the freedom of going to a previous RUU version.
Once you download your RUU, take a look at here (thanks to JDR0iD):

Also, you can use this tool to make your lifes easier (thanks to hasoon2000):

If you don't want to lose whatever is on your phone, I would recommend running the RUU installer and while it's waiting for your OK on your PC, go to your %temp% directory, find the latest directory created, there you will find the rom.zip. Copy that to somewhere else (like your desktop), unzip and you will see all the img files you need: boot.img recovery.img hboot.img etc. Then you can use the tool in the second link to install these image files in proper order.
Or, if you don't care whats on the phone, hit OK on the RUU window

Stuck in HTC-Screen

So now I'm able to flash new roms But it seems to me that only Android 2.3.5 Roms are running.
If I try to flash an ICS Rom i get stuck in the HTC Boot Screen. I tried to flash a new Kernel from a 2.3.5. Rom that was working (.sense Rom, AND YES I know that was a stupid idea ) This took me from the HTC Bootscreen to a blackscreen. This blackscreen is also visible in [email protected]
Trying a CM7.2 Rom with the same procedure written above I am able to see the CM7.2 load animation, but the device gets stuck in this animation.
So I hope that someone has an idea what I can do.
I already tried a superwipe (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1565263). I take a factory-reset/cach wipe/dalvik wipe for granted.
My Hboot version is 1.09.0099. As several Posts said that the bootloader should be updeted, I tryed to find a newer one as the version seen above, but I was not able to find that newer version.

You're completely right! Installing the wrong ruu can/will brick your phone. Pick the correct ruu from football's thread. Here's the link : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1074445

If i unplug the Cable (the RUU update tool tells me to do it) HBOOT says:
RUU
Security fail!
update fail.
Takeing the battary out and in again lets the phone reboot again.
What did HTC with the WFS so that nothing works? I am so dissappointed with my device. But thank you so much for helping me

Remember, Google is your friend! You should be able to find more RUU's, make sure that it's the right one or you'll have a new paperweight.......

I know... But the Updater says furthermore, that I should update my phone via the normal OTA update. But the OTA says everything is up to date.
I cannot figure out whats wrong with my device...

I wanted to put a custom rom on my wildfire s, kevinjoa's in my mind.
So i Started off by Reading the articles on how to unlock the WFS, to continue further.
I thought ill unlock by using the htc devs method, so i created an id there, etc etc, selected my device and then came across this
BEFORE beginning the Unlock Bootloader process your product requires that you update the ROM to the version listed in the table below first, then download the RUU next to it to enable the unlocking capability.
NOTE: If you do not find your ROM version in the table below, and your ROM version is newer, then your device does not require the RUU. Please bypass these steps and continue to the next page.

Now, as My Hboot Version is 1.03.0000 , which is not listed in the htcdevs unlocked bootloader page, and moreover im confused as to what to do here, there are some posts to downgrade from 1.03.0000 to 0.90.0000(i think) , so is there any way i can unlock my phone with hboot 1.03.0000? and i uploaded the pic of my Recovery! You require a higher HBOOT(a newer version), check if there is an OTA update..........or use an RUU
It's because the commands needed for unlocking aren't supported by older HBOOTs

For an RUU use a version that is higher and the closer to your country. For eg- If you bought your phone somewhere in Europe, use an EU version
You can always use the WWE(worldwide) version......But i'd recommend the EU one no matter where you are 'cause it is the most updated of all

csoulr666, bro i decided to go with either the europe WWE one, or Htc asia WWE one, cause the phone was brought from within asia.
another thing is , il download these RUU's from HTC Dev"s website itself right?

downloaded both Europe RUU which is around 6MB
Asia WWE RUU is like 25.5MB
downloaded from HTCdev.
How is it that when EU is Updated than the rest is smaller than that of the Asia'n RUU? :silly:

If you download via htcdev then use the Asia version....
And as for your question, size can vary according to how much of changes or additions are needed
