its just sitting on the freaking LG screen... every time i vol dwn + pwr and double press power it goes normal but then cwm doesn't come up and it just restarts and hangs at LG again. i ****ing hate this phone can someone please help me out? why won't cwm load
can you describe exactly the process you took to port CWM into your phone? Let's see if something happened along the way to cause it to not work properly.
Also, is CWM the one not working, or did you flash a ROM on your phone and something went wrong, and you are trying to get to CWM to restore your phone but not getting anywhere with it?

followed the steps on the cwm thread. used terminal emulator. worked great. was working fine until now. i flashed kernels beta 2 and only wiped cache and dalvik and now nothing is working. no cwm to restore, can't even get to the at&t boot animation. this is a mystery.

Sorry to hear that. Unfortunately I can't help much at all since I haven't done either yet (CWM or Kernels/rom installations) so rather than making things worse for you, I'll leave it to the Pros here to help you. Im sure one of them will respond back soon enough.
Try this:
Disconnect the phone and pull out the battery.
Put battery back in and plug phone to a wall charger. Let it boot to the battery charging screen. Once there press and hold POWER + VOLDOWN
Depends on type of the problem, it helped me 9 out 10 times...
tried it at least 20 times now. just realized that i didn't format /system nor did i update cwm yesterday. probably the root of all these problems. I'm just gonna start fresh with the kdz. I'm on a mac though so its going to be a long night starting with boot camp.
I'm having the same problems...well kind of...
I followed all the instructions for CWM and everything went great. No real issues but had to reinstall the .img twice and then was perfect thereafter. Saw the beta 2 ROM and figured what the hey...downloaded and installed to SD Card. Used CWM/Nandroid to do a backup then installed the zip for the ROM from the sd card.
It took a matter of 10 seconds and said it was successful/done and restarted phone-got a boot loop on LG screen for about 15 minutes and finally did a battery pull-tried several times to get it into CWM with no luck and finally was able to get in-but had to plug it into the wall and wait for charging screen to show. Was able to restore and all was well until turning the phone off.
Turning off the phone now causes the phone to loop on the ATT screen-I can get into download mode and can get into CWM and restore and all is well until turning phone off.
I figured it just needs a fresh install so I've been trying to flash the kdz but the firmware updater keeps faulting and never makes it through the process...so I'm stuck...have all the files I need (I believe) and have everything in place...just can't get it back to normal.
Any ideas from here?
Thanks in advance!
Yeah, sometimes it could be quicker just start over and restore backups...
While you there, would you mind do this: Needed SystemUI.apk from SU640
[EDIT]
@fishscale28:
did you do kdz unbrick before? If not, then perhaps you are not doing it right...btw, kdz file for LU6200 didn't work for me.
Nope-never done a kdz unbrick before-I have the kdz v10i_00 for the 640. I have all the drivers installed, the parser deal installed, windows enabler program running and use the kdz updater to update the firmware. Is there something Im missing here? Seems like several people have gotten the updater to crash when trying to update the firmware...any ideas why?
---------- Post added at 05:51 AM ---------- Previous post was at 05:38 AM ----------
I went through a few of the threads and saw there was a .dll file to be deleted in the updater folders so I did that and now I can do absolutely nothing with the program. Only start and exit...am unable to select anything, view anything, get anything to function...

I installed from the kdz yesterday and didn't have to delete any files. I'm on Win 7 x64. The first time it ran it told me to restart my phone cause it didn't see it, but the second time it ran until my phone reboot and I killed the program. Be sure you have the KDZ_FW_UPD_EN with UpTestEX_mod2_marwin.exe in it. Hope this helps.
Thanks for your help. I did all that...again...I even deleted, reinstalled all the updater stuff, tried running as admin, tried running in compatibility mode, ran it after deleting the recommended .dll file and the option to do anything was gone, put it back in and was able to run everything fine and a little after extracting the kdz it would crash. I unplugged the phone and re-ran the proggy and it went through the check, noticed the phone wasn't hooked up and finished the check. Plug phone in, start process over and proggy crashes.
I don't get it-I would say its the wrong kdz but its not. I installed all the drivers and it still doesn't work. I've tried every combo of everything and the proggies keep crashing.
Now I was finally able to get into CWM to flash another ROM and was able to get one going-was able to boot into the os but same as before-once the phone is turned off it starts the boot loop. Now its even harder to get back to CWM but a restore works from there. Any ideas on why the boot image keeps reverting back to whatever was screwed up? Has to be something that happens once the system starts up again as it's after a restore and when the phone is turned off. Stumped and would love to be able to use my phone...It seems like flashing the kdz would be the sure fire way to get it done-are there options aside from the updaters that keep crashing?
Thanks in advance!
Maybe http://www.microsoft.com/windows/virtual-pc/ can help?
alright so i got to the 4% thing and my phone rebooted but it kept looping to the screen LG Optimus LTE bootscreen with the pink candy cane. thats it. i did vol dwn + pwr and got the android arrow and box with loading bar no text, then it rebooted back to the optimus lte screen. never got to the setup screen. tried the kdz again and my phone died. now when i plug it in i only get download mode... does it charge in download mode and why did it not get to the setup screen?!

Even after running the kdz, my phone still does that after installing CWM. I don't know if it's something with my ROM or something with CWM, but if you can't get into CWM you probably don't need to run the kdz. I couldn't get into CWM anymore when I ran it.
So you're saying you go into the boot loop after turning off your phone even after unbricking?
I don't get it-now I can't get into recovery and it keeps up with the boot loop. I've tried running on the virtual PC/XP deal and it doesn't crash but now it doesn't even see the phone...reinstalled all the drivers, etc. and still no luck. Is there anyway to get the kdz installed without this updater?

Yes. I don't think that was happening until I put CWM on. But I can live with it until the issue is solved. I don't think I'm the only one having it.
I have an LG P903, the Optimus 4G LTE from Bell in Canada.
I wanted to see if there were any good custom ROMs for it so I installed CWM using this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1410454
Which worked like a charm.
Then I went on to install Kernelpan1c's 0.3 ROm form here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1459610
My device proceeded to bootloop. So I intially jsut restored my nandroid backup that I had made, it continued to bootloop so naturally I read through that thread and pretty much all the other threads in the Nitro HD forums to no avail.
I came across this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1412367
So I decided to do that. I tried various ways of working through that thread and read and searched and read and searched, I worked it out trying download mode, flashing various version trying to even be able to go into CWM but I just get the same LG logo boot loop. Ive tried and tried and tried but I can't get past it.
So I've done everything the video says to not be a noob, yet I guess I still am. I desperatley need some help if anyone can help me.
The big thing was flashing SU640 with kdz_fw_upd_en or with uptestex_mod2_marwin.exe wouldnt work no matter what I tried.
Can you try formatting /data manually:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=22533342&postcount=235
Then re-install my ROM and see if it boots
If you need more detail than kernelpan1c's post, I put this together for someone else.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=22535632&postcount=100
Yeah, neither of those work because I'm unable to boot into CWM or have the phone detected and be able to use adb shell.
I just went into the Bell store and told the guys exactly what I did, step by step I even told them it was rooted/screwed around with and they said thats fine, apparently the plan I have actually covers that. So they're sending off to LG to get repaired, they said that if LG refuses to repair it because it's rooted that they'll replace it for me.
However just as a fail safe, I still wanna investigate what happened.
So adb shell wouldn't work for some reason, saying it wouldn't recognize it, however the other two programs and the mobile support tool did. When i botted into recovery (tapped the power button twice and so on) it wouldn't do stock recovery or boot into CWM.
Thanks for the help anyway, but any other ideas?
I'd be really grateful for anyone who can help me. I could even pay a small reward if I can get this phone to work.
Factory restore/hard reset doesn't work. I press power to confirm, and it says "confirmed" or whatever the message is and stops there.

No such option in the current LG Mobile Support Tool.
When I start it, it checks for software and says I'm up to date.
It lists "Software version: _" which doesn't seem right.
LGFlashTool:
Fails for me every time.
New USB cord on back ports, have tried different ports.
It gives a PID, correct model and IMEI.
Checks Milky, DLL, bin CRC. I've re-downloaded the bin anyway.
When the phone is reconnected, it shows on COM41 and flashes.
System, tz, boot, rpm, aboot, sbl3/2/1, modem.
Then it says Factory Reset and Reboot sleep time
It then reboots and seems to fail recognizing the phone afterward. It gives error F0000002 and says "Download FAIL!!" at 95 or 99%.
LG Flash Tool 2014:
From what I gathered, there IS NO KDZ for the e980.
It was recommended to me to flash the Central America e980H KDZ to possibly restore the bootloader/recovery.
This gets to about 95% and then the phone reboots to the LG logo and hangs. After several minutes of waiting, it says "Upgrade stopped due to an error" and prompts me to try again after removing the battery. This just happens over and over again.
Thanks in advance for any help!
I've flashed the g, k and p tots. One won't even allow me to enter factory restore. The other two just hang if I do, or hang at the LG logo if I don't.
I've also tried following the instructions to make a restore microSD and tried another pre-built one, but it doesn't seem to boot/restore from the card.
What options do I have left? Can anyone help? Thanks.

Refer hyelton's guide for getting stock rom on our phone. Use the flash tool provided in the thread and probably you will be good to go.
Sent from my LG-E980
I assume you didn't read the post? Thanks, but that's the first thing I tried, with every compatible .tot and kdz that exists and every LG flashing tool available. I'm not a newb to rooting and unbricking phones. No offense, and I do appreciate that someone finally replied, but if I wanted someone to tell me to RTFM, use the search, or read the stickies I wouldn't have wasted peoples' time with a post and all of the details of what I tried.
I assume at this point that it's pretty well screwed and nothing short of a JTAG will resurrect it, if that even will. I'm leaning toward a hardware fault or something lower level than any firmware/baseband flashing will touch. :/
How did you bricked your phone the first time? Because if you can enter the download mode to use the flash tool, it shouldn't require you to load from the SD card or use jtag to repair the device. Those are the techniques for the device that's completely dead.
Right, but I tried flashing all of the US .tot images as well ask a kdz for central america. I tried flashing using different tools. I have tried literally every possible way that I can find, and it has the same strange problem of hanging at the LG logo and at the "hard reset" factory recovery screen.
It was brought to me as having a "software issue" from a bad update. I wasn't able to determine whether that was factory OTA or flashing a rom, but this thing apparently has some issues that a flash to 100% factory will not resolve. Either it's unable to flash itself through download mode, or it flashes and they all have the same problem afterward. I re-downloaded and re-checked the md5s over and over again. Tried different ports and cables, despite never having had a problem before on this computer with a dozen other devices, several times each.
I'm fairly certain there's a low level firmware or hardware fault so I've ditched the phone. No purpose in continuing the thread unless someone else has the same issue. And in that case, I cannot help without obtaining some kind of adb or fastboot.
Thanks for the replies all the same.
May be the motherboard is the problem?
Try charging

Stock kdz here
If you ever flashed KDZ to your e980, LGFlashTool will not allow you to flash TOT files by means of Download Mode, because there's a check for device model which doesn't match (that info afaik is based on SBL3 content).
If you have Dowload Mode functioning: (1) flash any KDZ (preferably for the same size of memory, 32GB) and you will have a working phone; (2) root the system; (3) replace boot partitions by those from native e980 installation (all together) by means of dd command; (4) flash native TOT file from Download Mode.
Be very cautious while on p.3. If you do this wrong, you will have a hard brick which will require special tools to fix it.
Hi, hoping someone out there can point me in the right direction!
I purchased a second hand G3 LS990 running ZV4. Since I do not like running an old OS I decided to flash it to ZV8 and had some issues with the modem so proceeded to use TWRP to install PrimeGSM which worked fine..
A day later I thought I'd attempt ZV8 again with a different modem, when starting the TOT flash method I found on this site I noticed that the phone was being detected as a D855 so tried various DLL files and kept running into the CrossDL issue so made the mistake of trying to flash to a D855 rom, three Roms later I had a brick!
The phone currently freezes at the LG Logo, although I am able to get to fastboot, TWRP via fastboot, and Adb via Cyanogenmod recovery.
Fastboot is unable to erase or format partitions, also cannot flash and fails with write failure.
Adb cannot push files and fails with error closed.
All attempts to use fastboot update "rom.zip" fail due to the hardware version so I tried to merge a d855 and ls990 CM build which fails with either a baseband or signature mismatch..
I have been reading up and trying all sorts at this point with no progress in the last day so thought I might try a post before telling the wife I need a new phone!
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Let me know if more information is needed.
PS. I know there allot of these threads out there but after digging through the first couple Google pages of each search I have not found one solution which works for my phone.
I managed to get the phone running again by following a guide I found in the forums
Havent read the guide but also happened to me to fix it i was lucky enough to have access to the os and to dl mode but not recovery and i too had different firmware on my phone so i changed the build prop to a ls990. Unaltered build prop, changed permissions accordingly and powered it off. Plugged up to lg flashtool and used the original ls990 dll with zva tot and bam got it flashed no problems.
Sent from my LG-Ls990 using XDA-Developers mobile app
To preface, I can boot into download mode and access hard reset but cannot boot into the ROM as it just shows the "Broken Android" symbol
I've been trying a lot of steps.... So many guides... To fix my phone. I've chalked it up to an issue with my IMEI/ESF being corrupted as LG Flash Tool shows it as NULL" and fails after 3 seconds consistently. LG UP also fails at 6% spitting out generic errors. I've even tried LGMobile Support Tool and it downloaded the correct firmware but failed to apply it at 2% consistently.
I'm assuming this has to do with my ESF being corrupted. I've been looking up guides on how to "fix" it but keep coming up short as ALL of them require a back up or at least being able to boot into a ROM. However, no ROM will flash. The bootloader is locked and the device has no root options. At this point I'm drawing a blank. I've been going at this for 11 hours straight (no joke, been sitting here for 11 hours searching the forums for different fixes because I know how people feel about the same thing popping up repeatedly.
What caused this issue was trying to roll back the firmware to an earlier version using LGUP so I could unlock the bootloader. I've only been attempting with stock roms (both KDZ and TOT)
Any help would be appreciated.
The phone is still detected in DLMode and all the programs can find it and know it's a D852 but just wont take any firmware.
