Hello everyone just bought the lg g3 d855 version v10e, according to spec it support every lte band here in Canada. But out of the box it just connect to hspa or 3g. Anyone know how to change this. Had changed lte band in secret menu, adding lte apn already. Should i flash it with hk firmware or wait for rogers fimware. Thanks in advance.

your phone gonna work...but on lte frequency depending where you live...rogers use for now the band 4 (1700/2100) and the band 7 (2600) but in some area only like Toronto downtown...2100 band alone is (band 1) so you just gonna catch lte frequency with your phone on the band 7 (2600)...if you living in Toronto (GTA) and some little limited covered part elsewhere in the country.....most of the time you gonna be on the hspa only...the newly 700 MHz will not work since here the carrier use band 14 your phone use band 28...
this is why for myself I"ve bough the d-850 at&t...the Canadians version is about to be on the shelves but at 699 plus the ridiculous taxe on the no term device!! this is why my best bet was the at&t version wich by the way is the exact same copy...
I try everywhere but only getting hspa or 3g only. Researched but don't find the solution yet. Thanks for ur reply.

I have done an extensive search both on Google and XDA Developers, and could not find an answer to my question.
I know that Samsung has released an LTE compatible version of the S3, the I9305 (LTE 800 / 1800 / 2600). So my question is, when the LTE network becomes available and more prevalent for T-mobile, will I be able to get LTE speeds with an unlocked I9305 S3? Thanks.

As I recall, T-Mobile doesn't offer LTE. Or maybe they have started recently and I just haven't realized it. But nonetheless, you can use the i9305, on T-Mobile seeing as it is an unlocked gsm phone. So it'll go as fast as T-Mobile will let it.
EDIT: Just kidding, T-Mobile DOES have 4G LTE, supposedly the fastest out there too.

Yeah tmobile 4g lte beat att's and verizon in a test from cnet! But you have to make sure that your phone supports tmobiles lte bands. I dont know yet what bands tmobile use for their lte

That's not all there is to it... They launched LTE-Advanced right off the bat. It is highly optimized over LTE revision 0.
OP, you would not even get HSPA+ on that phone if there isn't support for the 1700 band but you definitely will not get LTE based on the bands you posted.

Thanks for all the responses, this is good to know. I was always leery about unlocked phones claiming to be LTE compatible... this is why I would prefer buying a t-mobile specific LTE phone so I am 100% certain I will get LTE speeds.

T-Mobile is unique because they use the AWS 1700 band for LTE and 3G/HSPA. Verizon and at&t use 700MHz for their LTE which is the problem. We should start seeing a bunch of phones launch with AWS LTE this year. I would just wait and see what comes down the pipeline.
hi everyone,
i would like to know if the LTE frequency of 1800mhz in LG G PRO E988(Philippines) can be change to LTE 2100mhz? because the ISP(Smart) here in my country only gives the frequency of 2100mhz for their prepaid LTE service... and this phone of mine has WCDMA only for the 2100mhz and only 1800mhz and 2600mhz for its LTE as per its box says...
i have read somewhere that this frequency band is encoded to the hardware(i dont know if its true) but is there a way to change it? like changing to custom rom, kernel, hacking, etc....
i really need to have a frequency of 2100mhz in LTE in this LG G PRO android of mine to support the prepaid LTE from my ISP ...
experts here, please need badly your helps guys...

thanks for the reply.
probably that is not an e988 version.
lg g pro has several variants as we know...
the e988 here has no 2100mhz for the LTE ---> http://m.gsmarena.com/lg_optimus_g_pro_e985-5254.php
and also as i mentioned above, no 2100mhz also for LTE in its box, only 1800mhz freq.

I don't know how firstpost reached that conclusion. Not any literature on the net about e988 has ever mentioned LTE being present, hidden or otherwise... For example, this,

e988 LG G Pro has LTE capability but only supports 1800mhz and 2600mhz frequency bands (see the GSM Arena link i have posted above).
by the way, LTE also stated in its LG box

Theres NO changing of bands on this phone... Whats on it, is whats on it.
Bro, unfortunately LTE Band is hardware-variant-dependent and cannot be changed through software. The E988 variant only works on Globe LTE which is 1800mhz (B3), unfortunately you have to subscribe to 1 of their expensive postpaid plans to use LTE. I myself have a SMART prepaid LTE sim, and so I bought an AT&T E980 which has a 2100mhz LTE frequency, but what I failed to realize is E980 uses Band 4. SMART LTE only works on 2100mhz Band 1, so I am unable to use Smart LTE on E980 also. The only G Pro variant capable for Smart LTE is the korean F240L.
@ hyel
thanks. that's sad to know...
@ jrtancinco
thank you for the in-dept information bro. yes, i heard i can connect to Smart LTE thru their postpaid plan using my E988. Kinda confusing why there is so called Band 1, thought 2100mhz is enough.. I prefer the Smart due to Globe signal here in my place sucks big time. might as well buy a separate pocket LTE wifi, and keep this fast and amazing LG G PRO
------------------
*** UPDATE - i have tested three units of high end android phones (Samsung S4, LG G PRO, & Samsung Note 3) using postpaid LTE SIM in an unlimited Smart LTE Plan inside one location, versus a dedicated LTE Pocket Wifi; Result is, all the three high-end handsets have far lower speeds of the LTE compared to the LTE Pocket Wifi had delivered. Seems the LTE pocket wifi device has the dedicated hardware for more power and reach compared to a LTE built-in capability of a phone.
I now can conclude that its better to use a 'dedicated' LTE pocket wifi device than the built-in LTE of a smartphone handset if you want better LTE speed throughput.

LTE not WOrking on 1800mhz on My E988 Optimus
Hi there I am using LG Optimus G Pro E988, but I there is no LTE on it where my carrier support E988 on 1800mhz. Can anyone help me on this?
Hi, I'm having a problem with my new HTC6500LVW from Verizon.
Almost everything works good, except for the 4G/3G connection. I'm in México and my service is provided by Telcel, they use the band AWS-1 (1700Mhz upload and 2100Mhz download) for LTE, but the problem is that I found that Verizon use 700Mhz band to provide this 4G service.
I' have already configure the APN with the specifications indicated by Telcel, but nothing... All I get is EDGE connection.
My question is... Is there a way to... unlock or add this band (AWS-1) to make it compatible with the service proided here in México???
Thanks in advanced!
Sadly, no. The hardware doesn't support it. As for 3G (HSPA if it is GSM) the phone only supports certain frequencies from the website, it appears to be 900 and 2100 mhz.

I am wondering if signal/reception really is better with the T-Mobile with band 12 or really not much difference from International H815 version without band 12, has anyone checked both yet and compared.
You should receive "better" LTE services on the T-Mobile version of the phone. However, T-Mobile uses many different bands for LTE, so you'll still get it on the H815. I haven't been able to compare the two, but each phone has its benefits. In terms of calls and general signal, I've had 0 problems with the H815. I live in NYC.
H815 is better for international use and dev support from the xda forums since it's the international version. T-Mobile version is good since it has WiFi calling and the added USA LTE band support.

I have the H815 EU version unlocked on TMOUS and there is not difference, except for the loss of band 12. I pick up band 4 at work and band 2 at home just like I did with the H811. Not too sure if band 12 is even available in my area.
The loss of WiFi Calling would be a huge problem, especially since it ALSO does not have LTE Band 12, which is what T-Mobile is deploying to penetrate into buildings and basements (Bands 4 and 2 usually crap out indoors and the phone drops to HSPA).

It really depends if Band 12 is deployed in your area.
I also got the international version and used it on T-Mobile. I picked up their Band 4 LTE just fine, but the signal was too weak at my house, so I switched to AT&T (since this phone has more support for AT&T's bands, 2,4,5,17) and reception is somewhat improved.
How can you find out which bands you are using? I am using LTE Discovery but that is just for LTE only, just wonder which other bands I am getting?

LTE Discovery also shows you the GSM bands you are using. See attached.
I am in Minneapolis and band 12 is completely ruled out so its way better

I can see that it does detect GSM, but never shows which bands you are using unless you have a sheet to translate the frequency.
Band 12 has a significant difference in terms of distance and in-building LTE coverage, I'd personally not get a phone without it if you plan on being with T-Mobile for a while.
I personally not going to get the phone until the end of August, I am hoping all the bugs are worked out by then and it can be unlocked too, I will also get a replacement plan as well.
Yes it will be the T-Mobile variant because of the band 12, I currently get band 4 LTE, but it tends to cycle on and off in my apartment, I live in a hard to get signal area, I see most people having to walk outside just to talk on phone, my LG G2 doesn't have that problem but data with LTE has been a problem only.
Hi All,
I am on T-Mobile and AT&T and wish to purchase the H811 T-Mobile variant. Has anyone done this and then used the phone on AT&T? I see conflicting information where this model has Band 17 support, but on the T-Mobile site it doesn't list Band 17. T-Mobile's site is notoriously bad about leaving out supported LTE bands, so I thought maybe someone could tell me first hand if they've gotten LTE on AT&T's network but with the T-Mobile branded handset? This would be a HUGE help. Thank you so much in advance.

I'm going by the specs on LG page. Just googled "T-Mobile H811 full specs" and it states that frequencies are: LTE bands 2,4,12 and roaming bands 3,5,7.

No Band 17 means no AT&T (or bad AT&T)

Just wanted to confirm Band 17 is a must-have (or LTE coverage is poor without it). I'm in Seattle if it matters. H811's are cheaper right now but AT&T is a must-have for me.
I use an F500L on Cricket aka AT&T it's always on Band 5, I've not experienced any issues with data on LTE.
EDIT: you can check detailed specifications on XDA's PdaDB here http://pdadb.net/index.php?m=pdacomparer&id1=8059&id2=8046
Since this post is a bit old I figured I'd double check. Any update on the T-Mobile H811 working on AT&T?
Is it confirmed no band 17, and that 17 is for sure needed if you're looking for LTE service?
