Since people got their hands on the T-mobile version yesterday I am curious if anyone is using it on AT&T yet?
Thanks
I'm interested too... I get mine tomorrow.
As far as I can tell, the Sim card unlocks are not available yet. A few vendors say they should have them going by this week. Hopefully by Friday when my TMo Note 4 arrives.
I was under the impression you could just put your ATT sim in a TMobile phone and off you go. Not true?
There is a guy in the TMo forum that said he found someone who could unlock (~$35) it and he is using it on AT&T currently.
I got my phone on Monday (t mobile version) i unlock it on wend, since then i have been using it but had to call costumer service since i lost lte signal 2 times already, worry that this might be a issue i will see often

Have you tried a different APN?
I owned both the T-Mobile and AT&T Note 3. I started off with the T-Mobile variant and was never very happy with LTE reception. It would just drop LTE often.
After reading of others on XDA experiencing the same issue, I bought the AT&T version. Immediately, I noticed a big jump in LTE strength. I know the debate still exists to whether or not the AT&T variant has better network tuning specific to AT&T's network. It didn't really matter to me what it was. It was enough of an improvement for me to give up my T-Mobile variant with an unlocked bootloader.
For the Note 4 I'm waiting on some feedback from users with the T-Mobile variant on AT&Ts network. Your post isn't very reassuring.

That's weird indeed.
Note 3 and Note 4 from T-mobile have both been flawless for me on AT&T. I unlocked my Note 4 yesterday, and have zero connectivity issues that I know of. While it may be possible a AT&T branded phone works better on their network, I have no complaints at all. 25Mb/down, 17Mb/up was my last speed test.
Even if there is a slight difference, isn't it worth using the T-mo variant anyway, for the unlocked bootloader and all the extra options that provides?

I agree that the unlocked bootloader is a pretty big deal. Unfortunately the difference in LTE reception in my case warranted selling my T-Mobile version after comparing.
I should have mentioned that both phones were pretty much identical in areas with decent to strong signal. The real difference I noticed was when signal was weaker. My AT&T version simply held the LTE steady when the T-Mobile would constantly switch back and forth. This is not to say that they were not receiving about the same bandwidth.
I am very interested in how the Note 4 does. I'm hoping to see a few more posts tonight about LTE performance before I hit the stores tomorrow to pick up either one based on the feedback from here.
Thanks for letting us know about how your's is handling!

Well I didn't see any additional posts before heading out to buy it this morning so I took a chance and got the T-Mobile variant. I'll provide feedback on AT&T LTE reception once I get my unlock code.
The wife wants a Note 4 as well so I'm probably going to pick up an AT&T variant and test them both for signal on AT&T's LTE network.
I got the unlock code in just over an hour and I'm up and running on AT&T's LTE!!
I'm pretty happy to report that it appears that the T-Mobile Note 4 is getting outstanding signal at my house and speeds are the same or better than the AT&T Note 3 right next to it.
The real test for me will be at the edge of AT&T LTE reception, which is where I was having issues with my T-Mobile Note 3. I wont know this until I go to work next Monday as my office is the perfect test for this.
Wireless Tether is completely unlocked with the T-Mobile Note 4 on AT&T's network without the requirement to root/mod as it was on the Note 3.

Anyone seen any update on tmobile and band 12 for Nexus 5 X? They said they would try to sort this out by this time.

I asked several of the people who posted "reviews" yesterday on T-Mobile and none were able to confirm this or WiFi calling. Hopefully with the first phones being delivered to users today we will know very soon.
I believe that there was a T-Mobile tweet saying that the new nexus phones (or nexii?) would be compatible with WiFi calling. That their network would (eventually) recognize that your phone was on their network and would push a small OTA to activate that feature.
I wish I could find that tweet right now.

I get mine (Carbon/32GB) on Thursday. I hope they delivered as promised.
I can CONFIRM WiFi calling and HD calling is on the phone and works. As for band 12, it's not in my area yet, so I can't confirm that.
I did load my T-Mobile sim in before I first turned the phone on and in the setup process, I was notified of a 42mb update needed. The phone updated and it's there.

That is great news. I wonder if that update was just for T-Mobile users or if everyone else is getting this update as well. I would hope that Google is finally done with special builds for T-Mobile like with Lollipop.
ill have mine on thursday. i will check for band 12 as it is live in my area.
Update:
My WiFi calling is being odd today. I'm getting a message that says to connect to WiFi to make the call, but I'm already on WiFi... I had a feeling that this wasn't going to be as smooth as I thought. My house has the T-Mobile WiFi calling router, but my work doesn't. I wonder if that has something to do with it? But my S6E worked at work... So.....

I'd say so too. I was at work on a call on cellular and my signal indicator said LTE. I also ran a speed test while on the call and after the call and both were in the 20mbps range.
I live in a band 12 area and will receive the 5x tomorrow. I will for sure be able to test if band 12 works as it is the only band I receive signal from when in my basement. I will post my findings as well as screenshots of LTE Discovery when I receive the phone.

That is only partially accurate. HD Voice can also occur without VoLTE.
I just got my 5x and it does NOT connect to band 12.
On my Sony Z3, it connects to band 12 when in I go to my basement. LTE Discovery confirms the switch. But on my 5x, the phone switches over to the HSPA network.
This does not 100% confirm lack of band 12. But my educated guess is b12 is disabled as the phone would have switched to b12 LTE before switching over to HSPA.
On my Z3, there is a service menu that allows me to disable band 2 and 4 LTE. When those 2 are disabled, band 12 is the only other available band and it works perfectly. If anyone know how to attempt this on the 5x, let me know and I will give it a try.

Yeah that seems to be the consensus. It looks like Google got VoLTE done it time for the release of the 5X but T-Mobile hasn't finished certifying it to allow Google to enable Band 12. Given we know the hardware supports it I imagine it shouldn't be too long, hopefully...
Live in Edinburgh and just got my OP3. After put Three and EE sim cards into phone, I can't find "enhanced LTE" option in the setting menu. Does it means that VoLTE is not supported on EE and Three?

Yes, I can confirm that VoLTE and WiFi calling doesn't work on EE.
On Three you can probably use their app for VoLTE and WiFi calling (if you are not rooted).
Hi there. I can connect to the 800MHz LTE on the Three network, however there is no option for me to use native VoLTE or VoLTE via their InTouch app at all.
I doubt we'll see VoLTE natively on this device, but there may be a chance that a future update to inTouch would let it work there, but damn I hate their app.

You can use this app to see your signal type: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.wilysis.cellinfolite
Or use the dialer and use *#*#4636#*#* to view additional signal information.
It's somewhat of a guessing game also. I only get LTE signal here if its 800MHz as they recently rolled it out.
I have LTE on Three, but not VoLTE.
I also hate their awful app.

I'm trying to get VoLTE working with 3 on my OP3 too. From what I can tell, we need the APN settings for the 3 IMS APN. Damned if I can find these listed anywhere though. If somebody has an official 3 phone with working VoLTE then we can copy it off there.
I'm wondering if the Enhanced 4G voice option will show in settings when a compatible APN is detected? Other people seem to have VoLTE working on their OP3 (looking at posts on xda), but I'm not sure if they're using the stock rom or not.
The issue is that EE/Three really have no incentive to support the OP3 because they don't sell it.
Same goes for all UK networks none of them will enable VoLTE on the OnePlus 3
Just want to bump this thread as 3G coverage is rubbish around my home area. For some reason I only get 4G and am not able to get 3G. I have to use the Three In touch app to even receive calls

How do you get VoLTE on that? According to gsmarena it doesn't support band 20, and as far as I know Three only has VoLTE on band 20? It would be interesting if you could let me know if a) Three are now running VoLTE on band 3 too, or b) It actually does support band 20. Here's the gsmarena page: http://www.gsmarena.com/xiaomi_mi_5-6948.php
Thanks!
I've no idea. We were just sat in a pub and she asked me what the VoLTE in the status bar meant. Sure enough the icon was there and she gets it quite often
If you're on EE you probably won't get VoLTE; they're having trouble supporting the S7 so the OnePlus 3 is pretty much a lost cause. I know that kinda sucks for you guys on the better performing network
Three are more likely to; they support a lot more phones on VoLTE and are generally a lot more Android friendly than EE (EE always release Android updates very late, and everything is given to iPhones first).
But I'm obviously just guessing here, until VoLTE is more mature in the UK it's likely VoLTE support will be the complete mess it is now with only major phones getting it.
Hope that helped

why would you want 3g if you can get 4g ?
Last time I checked with Three they told me that only some phones approved/sold by them support VoLTE.
A few months ago they whitelisted the Oneplus 2 to use VoLTE though their app. The Oneplus 3 is not supported yet (not sure if it will be in the future).
Sorry. If you don't know voLTE (on the three network) only works on 800mhz, which only works on 3 carrier bought phones. 3G is the only way you can call apart from that, and as I already said, my area does not have 3G coverage.

I will tell you. The answer is no. I'm in Korea KT is CDMA. The data side works, UMTS B1 & LTE B1 B2 & B8 but the voice calls do not work. In phone drops even LTE if/when I attempt to make a call. Calls over Wifi isn't an option either since my carrier doesn't support it. Over here everyone uses VOIP anyways. Im not bothered by the lack of calling I rarely even use my 'phone' anyways. Plus I'm hoping to get back to the states soon and I will be back on AT&T.

I purchased the Razer phone and am using Verizon with it. There is a work around that their tier 2 tech team can do. They add your line just on their LTE(GSM) network ( No band 13 CDMA is utilized). So if you are in an area that has good to great LTE signal then you can get the phone. Mine works great at work and outdoors. My only issue is at home. I always had one bar with all my other phones and now I have no service. I am waiting for a Samsung 4g LTE extender from Verizon so that I can correct that issue.
Rumor has it, Verizon will make the shift to just LTE by the end of 2018. If and when this happens, CDMA band and cellphones will no longer work with their network.
Hope I helped anyone who has the phone or wants to buy it. Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays.

I used Verizon's live chat initially. Reason for this is I was able to save the conversation and use it as a reference when I had to call back and got another rep. Also, good way for the tier 2 tech team to catch up. It took some time and persistence to get it right. Once the chat rep exhausts all their troubleshoots, they will escalate it to tier 2. A threat about me leaving and going elsewhere was used on one occasion.
It did take time and patience but I think the phone is worth the trouble. My Razer works just as well as my GS 7 edge. Just a reminder. It is on LTE only, so if you hit an area without LTE you will not function.

I did my own questioning with this and simply stuck my SIM card from my Google phone into my Razer and for while it worked but I noticed it didn't stick.
So I called Verizon and they told me that because my sim card was registered to my Google phone I would need to go and get a new sim and stock it into the Razer and it would then work on LTE and would stick

I am going to say no and you should try live chat again. I had ported out when I first got this phone back around Thanksgiving and I couldn't stand it and wanted back in to Verizon. When I came back in, they activated a new sim using a pixel 2, popped it in my phone and did some configs on their end. You do not need a new sim if your current sim is on a phone that has LTE service with same OS and on Verizon already.

ro.telephony.default_network=20,20
Which is asia lte/td-scdma; if i knew how to change it to ro.telephony.default_network=9
i think that would fix it.
For now i'm just waiting for someone to release some baseband versions to flash.

That's not good hopefully get mine in a few days and i'll report back. I had previous phone like Zuk Z2 that had similar bands but work with both LTE and calling/sms no issues.
I and a friend have noticed these same issues it must be android one issue.
I did post in another thread about poor signal on different networks and how it compared to redmi note 2 which doesn't even support a lot of the bands this phone does yet that has far better signal.
My friend doesn't even get signal in his house on o2/ee with this phone it keeps showing up as emergency services only but with redmi note 2 he gets max with o2 on 2g/3g and ee it hops about with half bar for 2g/3g and quater to 0 on 4g in the house.
Seems to work fine for me. I have 4G on and calls come through just fine. Might be a location issue but I'm on Tmobile and in SoCal

Yeah LTE data works great but no calls go through , and there are no GSM antennas near by.
Same issue with my Mi A2 on T-Mobile in the US. I even contacted TMobile about the issue because it seems like a network issue too. It's like it's having issues switching to 3G to accept the call as there is no voLTE. I'm hoping an update to the modem will fix the issue.
