Hi all,
Bit of an odd one, but I love my G Pad, it gets used heavily. I know this possibly out of the scope of this forum, but I was wondering if anyone else was experiencing an issue with Sonic 1, 2 or CD on this tablet. It's a weird issue, due to at first playing silky smooth - then it gets 20 seconds in and suddenly it goes slow-motion.
I'm on KitKat - does it work well for anyone else? If so any suggestions for what could be causing it to work perfectly for a set amount of time then slowing down?
any idea for fixes?
If more than me experiences these issues I'll chase the developer!

I have all 3 on iOS but only 2 & CD on Android. I've now messaged the developer saying that at least one other person is experiencing this issue!

Yes, 4.4.2 stock. I didn't get to try out Sonic on 4.2.2 because the first thing I did when I got the G Pad was update it. (I only got this device last week)

Same thing here (v20a 4.4.2 root)
Tested Sonic 2 and Sonic CD. These games ran flawlessly two days ago, when I was still in 4.2.2...
FYI same problem with "Leo's Fortune" now, which also ran fine before the update
No such problem in "Type Rider" for instance (similar gameplay)
These are the only ones I tested so far
Any problem with other games ?

In another (french) forum, a guy reported having this issue with 4.4.2 stock, but not anymore after installing CM11
Sounds like LG software might be the problem, not KitKat

Hmm interesting. At first I was very much against rooting and installing a custom rom on this tablet, but slowly the benefits are starting to outweigh the stock. Screen casting and higher app compatibility... hmm.
I would love to see how to make character mods on sonic cd , sonic 1, sonic 2 android and ios ports.Including sprites of sonic, Tails or knuckles from Sonic mania.

Does it work with you?
I could open it, download game data but then it closes (no force close) every time I click on the app icon. Downloaded Chainfire 3D, installed it, but no luck.

Works for me pretty smoothly.
I really want to download this game but i want to know if the i9000 can handle it first =/.
If it doesn't work go into market and hit refund. I believe it gives you a full refund if you uninstall within 15 minutes of downloading.

Yeah thats true but the problem with big games like this is that if you have trouble downloading the additional files the 15 minute window can soon disapear.
They should have left the refund time at 1 hour. 15 minutes just isnt enough half of the time.
Of course it will run smoothly on Galaxy S... It's 1 thread optimized game and actually does not require dual core device.
pls post your kernel, rom or other requirments what we need to play.

I9000? Which ROM?
I'm getting a bit closer now... I can now watch the two intros, but then it exits again.
Doesn't work for me (Cyanogenfortomorrow). Damn, i first bought it on Galaxy S, than i got my money back. Later i tried on galaxy nexus, where it isn't working either, and now i can't get back my money.
It's not working for me either (i'm on Darkys 10.2 EE),i'm now installing Chainfire 3d as you suggested
edit: doesnt work with chainfire3d either...

It almost works for me
It opens, and when I leave it, it shows the credits while music is playing. However, when I touch the screen, it turns black and nothing seems to happen anymore.
I am running Simplicity 2.1
edit: just got it as far as the homescreen, clicked start game, and now I have a black screen and nothing happens :-(

All different versions are for different regions, don't know why the small price difference exists, and I don't really care either..
Doesn't want taste the Ice Cream here. FC after clicking the game icon.

If you look at the URL of all the 4 version you see that there's a US, AUS, JPN and GER version

Anyone, anyone at all !!!!! Someone clarify if you are getting the same issue with this game on this phone. Other than that this phone is amazing. Best out right now IMO and who cares about the note 2 that's like having a boat in your pocket.

I tried downloading this game and got the same thing. Loading screen the it just exits.
Same deal for me man. I even tried doing the aspect ratio fix built into the phone, still no good.

I bought the game GTA : Vice City, but every time I enter a car the game freeze.
The radio keeps playing and the map(compass) move, but the rest (cars, people, lights, etc..) stay still.
On foot the game run great, no problem.
On GTA 3, I have no problem at all, in car or on foot.
Anyone else have problems with this game ?

There are reports of Rockstar games not working on CM10.1 for our phone in the main thread and other threads and probably on their app page in the play store.
I'm American.
I've heard of vice city having trouble still. I have gta3 plays real good with no problems

I guess this is a device/rom issue and we have to wait for Rockstar, unless it's working for someone else.

Yeah i like the gta vice city more aswell but didnt download bacause of all the bad reviews it has right now. Im just gonna wait till an update arrives

Its an issue with the vice city game its self they relsased it early and its an issue with the saved game reopening that contains unresolved variables that inturn cuase a crash in the vertual streamed world hence when u drive or walk out of the streamed area everything stops no way to fix it best advice save carfully dont cheat then save make sure you dont save with anything odd

Sorry for bumping a rather old thread but I'm curious as to whether any solution came up. I'm having the exact same problem on my Xperia L stock firmware = fine on foot, no cutscenes, car freezes the screen yet compass keeps going.
Just set resolution to 100% in display options.

Sorry to bump a old thread just wanted to say thank you to he people that said put resolution to 100%
I have a ZTE Supreme (Vital) with Virgin Mobile and kept freezing and not playing cut scenes. Put the resolution up to 100%
and the game plays PERFECT NOW! THANK YOU!!!! Can't wait for GTA SA to come out in December!
Love this phone even more now! Heres to hoping devs give my phone some love with some new roms and kernels but runs FAST!

Ran Beanstalk, 4.3, and everything ran great...except "dead trigger" everytime, and "clash of lords" sometimes. They don't "force close" or "stop responding" though. They just blink, then back to my home screen. Went back to 4.2.2 version and now clash of lords works fine, but dead trigger closes every time. But not right away. 10 seconds in, 30 seconds in, 15 seconds in...any ideas?

Keep trying different ROMs until you find what suits your needs. The newest may not always be the best for you.

I have no problems with games optimized stock ROMs. And on all of Thddude's ROMs. That guy makes some wicked creations. Thank him when you can

First of all, thanks. Yeah I ran another ROM from Thddude, Hellybean, and had no problems. To be honest with you, the only I was trying to get Beanstalk to work is because I like being able to change the colors on my status bar info lol. I was running old faithful, aokp, I always go back to them when I have problems with others. Beanstalk came with android tweaker pro. So like a child with a new toy, I went in and checked off every tweak possible :\… just was kinda wondering if any one thing would have made my dead trigger game stop working. Guess I'm going back to Hellybean 4.2.2. It works good.

Yeah if it was all games then there would be a definite fix. But because it is just dead trigger... Its kind of hard to find the problem. The problem is probably in dead trigger though.

There are other games besides dead trigger that's not playing nice with these awesome new roms. Hopefully there's a fix for them really soon.
I had a Note 8 for a short time which had this issue but ive noticed it on my gpad 8.3 v500 when its in landscape.
The issue is when im scrolling the screen one side lags behind the other if you do it quickly enough...so if i do it Up and down it gives a wobble effect. Noticable in netflix too.
Has anyone had this? Im hoping its a jellybean issue as i said my note 8 was the same.
Not a deal breaker but it does bug me.

Have you installed any background-running apps that may cause this problem? I don't know what can cause screen stuttering like you have. Have you thought about installing CM? It works great and is 1000 times faster than stock

Yes i have thought about it......but id need an idiots guide as ive never done that before...
Also im sure ive read 4.4 ota is coming soon , so i was going to hang on for it....

There are only guides for root and recovery, CM is only wiping and flashing. I will post links when I get home (although I'm pretty sure you can find them yourself in the All things guide thread, I recommend TWRP)
The OTA 4.4 update is very far away, march at least (I have my sources)

Try enabling the developer options (you dont need root and a howto can be found on google) and turn off all the transitions and see if your lag goes away.

I flashed CM11 onto my Gpad but i didnt like it ( personal preference) ive now got the latest Mahdi Rom which is very much like the Nexus5 that i was wanting.
but still i get this lag in Lanscape mode when im scrolling up and down....one side lags to give a wobble effect.

In all apps or only in some? I see a stutter in certain apps that do not cache things far enough ahead (i.e. twitter) when I have the client configured to show the twitpics. However once I know everything is loaded I can scroll up and down without any stuttering problem. Some browsers also have this problem since they also only seem to load in memory the stuff that is rendered on the screen...
Based on what you describe I'm not certain that your wobble and my stutter are the same thing though...

Ive just gone back to Stock LG for the KitKat update and i still get the scrolling wobble effect in landscape.
Its not a deal breaker but it just bugs me....im suprised no one else has seen this.
its noticable in netflix when you scroll quickly
