Whatsapp "Device not supported" issue.
(YOUR DEVICE MUST BE ROOTED!)

Steps to fix this issue in Nokia X are:
1) download Rom Toolbox Lite (http://www.appsapk.com/rom-toolbox-lite/) and install
2) Open the app then tap "ROOT BROWSER"
2) Go to "system" directory and tap "build.prop"
3) Tap "RB Text Editor"
4) Find the line "ro.product.manufacturer=Nokia” and change Nokia to Baidu
5) Save the file then reboot your phone
6) ???
7 PROFIT!

Remember to backup your /system/build.prop so can undo change if future OTA update fails. At least X2's OTA mechanism is balking at build.prop customizations.

Not if you did what you said correctly. I used ES File Explorer to do this and got my phone soft bricked. Had to flash stock ROM. Though, no regrets, I couldn't update my phone due to root so I flashed the updated ROM

There is a better way now. Whatsapp Plus works on the Nokia X/XL without any modifications. If I am not mistaken its version 6.0

but whatsapp plus isnt working on my device. verification doesnt work they ask to install original whatsapp first than talk with some friends then uninstall it and download whatsapp+ again but i cant verify on whatsapp too because they said "device not supported".
clicking from widget doesnt work anymore.

Then edit build.prop using Root Explorer. Change ro.build.manufacture from Nokia to Baidu.

because WA+ require some files from WA official... so you need to install WA official first.

And one more thing i've notice there is a apps called apps2sd its not working anymore before there's option to transfer apps to sd now when o try to move it only show move to phone and internal memory, is there any news regarding this problem? Tnx

Nokias partition layout is diff than other Android phones. So thats the problem.
it works, but then mixradio app says no support for non-Nokia phone...anyone can help on this?

Here is how you do it manually:
Download the RM-980 v11.1 System Fota.zip from here Credits to uploader: David Vaz.
Boot into Stock Recovery.
Flash it via Stock Recovery.
Update done.

its been 18hrs i have been using the update and have come across below issues.
1. creepy speaker output(feels very bad sound output)
2. sudden fezzes
3. camera gone bad i think
4. settings wont open many times while trying to access from notification notification dragged down
5. had to update latest album manually
will update further day by day if come across
also would request you all please confirm above bug if you face

You will have to reinstall recovery... the same procedure as 4.4.3.

All the system is Ok but I can not connect my wifi and when the system start he show this message ~You need to install a developper version to activate root permission~.

We don't have the ROM. If you give us a downloadable link to the ROM, it will be helpful to fix the bugs.

I think so. The Miui 7 which is shown in YouTube for our devices is also fake I think. When tried to download it told me to complete a survey. Not sure if survey complete will help me download the ROM. But it is paid. I used some bypass the survey trick but failed. Also the size shown in the page is 270MB(approximately).

it has been disabled at the server side, only solution that comes up is to edit the app and mask it as a currently supported one so it can work again
other than that, the app is useless now

I have already tried to install the old version from the above link but it won't install. When I put it on a Sd card and try to install it nothing happens. I also have installed Interop Tools on my phone and tried to install it from there but it says - the app is encrypted... sth. like that.

Download Windows phone SDK 8.1 lite, connect your phone to the pc with device portal activated, open Application deployment 8.1 and deploy it. There are lots of tutorials on how to do this

Hi,
I managed to install it with Windows phone SDK but the app is no longer supported - a message has shown stating from 29th of march the app can no longer send messages and to install the new version. So I have installed the new one - at least i have managed to install the older version of Facebook. Again thanks for your help!

What version is your current rom and are you trying the smaller incremental update?
Also, regarding your device not updating via settings, is your device a tencent version converted to WW?

I downloaded the fota update 158mb. Regarding my device at the back of it says republic of gamers not tencent games. I dont know if its converted or not.
Anddd me uprade android 9 to android 10 via settings fotaservice. But for this one smaller update fotaservice doesnt work for me. This is my first time download anything firmware related because ASUS software update keep showing up on my noti but I cant update it.

Strange, it doesn't sound like you have a converted phone so OTA in settings should work. Maybe the new version isn't released yet in your country. I've checked on the global website and it's not available yet. Another reason could be that the previous owner unlocked the bootloader and rooted it. If it's still rooted the smaller OTA would most likely fail. You need to flash the full rom.
So, are you rooted - you can check your apps for magisk manager.
Also, did you buy the phone second hand?

There was a bug in Armory Crate wherein if you have a 3rd party launcher as your default launcher, then while in Armory Crate if you press back button it would always ask you to select your default launcher. That has been fixed.

Anyone find that the brightness is dimmer for this version? I were in outdoor under sunlight which can't see the screen even it is in max brightness.

Same thing happens to me, just turn off auto download via wifi on FOTAService setting and then reboot with full update file in its place
