wich CM11 or CM10.2. Now flash philz recovery 5.15.9 then mount sd card copy new rom to your sd card after this take the boot.img from your rom archive and flash it via fastboot. But if you want to flash CM11 you need latest recovery and after all procedure up after finish with sd card install latest philz recovery becouse in latest philz recovery sd card mountin not work but in 5.15.9 work great
you must to use boot.img from rom archive every time you flash new rom and wipe everithyng except sd card second is if you flash different roms

change the rom to CM11 or sense some newer rom where have support leave 10.2, but first copy the new rom to sd card after this flash latest CWM, PHILZ or TWRP2.7 and flash any rom you like it
This ' Unfortunatley the setup wizard has stopped ' is because of rom.
Are you do a full wipe except sd crad from recovery before install the rom

Stock ROM for HOX VODAP203 (SFR)
LOOKOUT ! Screens are not reflect of original ROM. Been tweaked by me
Look of this ROM is the same than Original Sense.
Code:
#include
/*
* Your warranty is now void.
*
* I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
* thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
* do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
* before flashing it!
* I'm not a dev, I just want to share files I found which helped me..
*/
I decided to open this thread cause I spent a lot of time to find the files that I share with you today. I just hope it will help others users with same HOX config like me.
This is not an "HOW TO", just sharing files needed.
I wanted to update my HOX which config was:
Hboot 1.36
Version 1.29.163.13
and CID VODAP203.
and bring it to Android 4.2.2 and Sense 5, and bring Hbbot to 1.72.
Thanks and credits:
Special thanks to migascalp.
Original thread: http://www.forum-generationmobiles.net/t63139-rom-zip-stock-operateur
INSTRUCTIONS:
- First of all, nandroid backup and copy all your sd files on PC !
Starting from zero (1.29.163.13), I had to wipe all data and files on sd card, so you have been warned...
In download section, you'll find:
ROM SFR_3.14.163.27.zip
OTA OTA_ENDEAVOR_U_JB_50_S_Vodafone_FR_4.17.163.3-3.14.163.27_release_3328517hcgcnspavwggc5y.zip
Hbbot 1.72 firmware.zip
Copy ROM and OTA on sdcard.
1. Unlock your device and install Clockwork Recovery
2. Do a Nandroid backup! Copy all files on PC.
3. WIPE
4. Install the ROM by CWM (install zip on sdCard) don't forget flashing boot.img inside zip (fastboot flash boot boot.img, and fastboot erase cache)
5. Reboot - You're on original SFR 3.14.163.27
6. At this stage, screen is non responding, reboot in recovery by power+vol down.
7. Flash the OTA.zip in CWM
Reboot in fastboot usb and flash boot.img in OTA.zip
8. Reboot
9. You're in android 4.2.2 Sense 5....
Screen touch is working again.
After all is done, go in settings, about and updates and it will charge 3 upgrades (camera, Sense and other tweaks).
Let HOX installing them then reboot.
And voilà !
At this stage, there is no more OTA, so ROM is 4.17.163.3 Android 4.2.2 and Sense 5.
If you want to upgrade HBOOT:
Even with the .zip method you'll need to relock/unlock the bootloader. It's NOT flashable in
recovery. Create a new account at htcdev.
Here's how to use the zip:
1. fastboot oem lock
2. fastboot oem rebootRUU
3. fastboot flash zip firmware.zip (do several times if it fails)
4. fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin.
There are many tutos on "how to" flash ROM, upgrade Hbbot... here on HOX android section.

1rst zip is to flash in recovery.
As said before:
4. Install the ROM by CWM (install zip on sdCard) don't forget flashing boot.img inside zip (fastboot flash boot boot.img, and fastboot erase cache)
5. Reboot - You're on original SFR 3.14.163.27
If OTA does not work, then you have:
- to flash original recovery
- relock your phone
Then OTA will come by itself in normal update.
I can confirm that firmware.zip is the good one for CID VODAP203.
There's tutos here on onex forum which explain how to flash it.
Let me know if something's wrong.
See you and good luck

Yes but it's an ooooooold one
Google it 1.26.163.2, that's why CWM recovery is the best way to have last version of android and sense.

You don't have to use RUU.
You can flash zip, use recovery and then update by OTA.
Why looking for RUU?
Hi,
I have a problem : I did all what you wrote (flashed the ROM with CWM, then the boot.img with fastboot), the phone boot correctly but I can't enter my PIN code. The touchscreen is not responding, all what I can do is turning the volume up or down.
I hope you can help me solve this issue.
Thx

Need help urgently.... Boot loop.

Hello;
I turned my One X on after about a month of not using (got a nexus 5). I'm giving it to my dad.
It just boot loops, I have 20.6 SD rom with his stock kernal. I've wiped cache, factory reset, dalvik. Wiped via fastboot and reinstalled the kernal.
I DONT have the rom files on the SD Card any more and i get an error when I try to mount storage from CWM.
Any ideas It would be greatly appreciated as it's about time my dad got rid of his standard phone.

post the result from command fastboot getvar all
The other thing is to instal Philz recovery and in recovery to mount the SD card. Copy your rom to SD card, flash boot.img, flash rom.

Ok Lock your bootloader if you unlocked him, in bootloader you must see LOCKED or RELOCKED this is importand.
Download this RUU_ENDEAVOR_U_ICS_40_H3G_UK_1.29.771.11 and install update to latest JB 4.2.2
or you can download Philz recovery and use the command fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Report back
EDIT: if the first RUU not working you can try with this RUU_ENDEAVOR_U_ICS_40_S_H3G_UK_2.17.771.3
EDIT2: Strange you have too high hboot version for your main version

[Help] Can't find the right RUU for my phone to get back to Stock

Model: HTC ONE X
Region: EUROPE (originally debranded)
CID: HTC__023
hboot: 1.39.0000
main: 3.20.401.1
I have found the following RUU:
But the version is lower than the one installed in my phone (from 3.20.XXX.X to 3.14.XXX.X).
I have also found a nandroid backup for my CID on the XDA-Developers thread, but it is also older:
"Nandroid Backup 3.17.728.1 CID HTC__023 thanks to adamnz"
Will any of those work as I am not S-OFF?
Here is the output of the fastboot command in case it helps

It doesn't look like there are any nandroid backups floating around for your CID.
However, I believe you would be OK with a nandroid such as this as the version-main is identical to yours.

No problem. Obviously you'll have to go back to the stock recovery which is here.

Thanks again!
I have done the following steps:
1. Flashed the boot.img from the backup through fastboot
2. Entered CWM recovery (5.8.4.0)
3. Wiped data, cache and factory reset
4. Restored backup
But it always give me an error: "Error while restoring /system". All the previous checks and actions go as expected. I tried to redownload the backup and got no luck.
Anyone knows why is giving this error? Perhaps the nandroid backup I have downloaded needs to be restored with the same recovery and version of the original one?
Because you didn't wipe the system partition in recovery.
Under mounts and storage - format cache, data and system
And flash the recovery.img from the nand backup if you have the same problem after the above !

Thanks a lot.
I will try it as soon as I get home.
One question about flashing the recovery. The recovery from the nand backup is the CWM recovery right? I am scared of flashing some offical recovery and then not being able to access the CWM one.
You can safely flash the recovery from the nand. It's the custom one, it's the one which the nand is made with.

Now I have a doubt about the recovery I have to flash. Need I to flash the stock one for this RUU or is it independent? I mean, surrealjam point to a stock recovery for the 3.14.XXX.X version, but I am now on the 3.20.401.1 stock. Do I need to flash a "newer" stock recovery, matching the ROM version?

I believe 3.14 is the latest stock recovery available and will be fine with the 3.20 firmware. Perhaps Mr Hofs may be able to provide further info though.

A friend of mine gave someone her phone who probably tried to update it using fastboot and recovery, but did not succeed. Now the phone can't get past the HTC logo. I don't know what exactly he did to the phone so I'm working on very little. Been up since late last night checking how to fix this. I tried flashing a new custom rom with both twrp and cwm using both sideload and otg cable. With TWRP the process just stops abruptly when flashing system, while it completes in cwm and still the phone doesn't boot. I also notice that both recoveries can't mount system, can't mount cache. but can only mount data.
I then read in a thread that if I can't mount I have to flash RUU with fastboot. I have searched RUU with my main version and the closest I got was a sprint version. But after sending in fastboot I get "12 signature verify failed". I searched for this and I was told it's because I don't have the correct version for my device. Below I've attached an image of my bootloader information, please help!

For some reason the version-main is now blank, but it used to be 1.29.651.10. And all I've found for this version are Sprint roms, but the device is not sprint it's international version.

M out after going back to stock Rom

Hello guys,
I have a big probleme. I decided to change mobile, i put my as original since it's easy to sell. I was on leedroid rom with twrp on custom recovery.
So on twrp i flash my original Rom (i ever done it one time so i know it's the good one). Everithing work great, the phone restart. I want to improve the Rom step by step, and i download kitkat 4.4.4, when it's done the phone restart, load kitkat and restart. That the begenning of probleme, it reboot i here the small song, then i stay lock one start screen (Htc-Powered by android), very strange, the screen give some vibration as if it work but nothing move, locking on this screen ........ No probleme, i restart on recovery and i start on recovery factory, the phone boot, as if it load the recovery factory version, it boot again, but nothing more, locked on white screen with Htc powered by android, and the small thong.
Here's, i don't have phone since 2 days. If you have a solution to restart this M8, please help me.
Thanks in advance for your answer.
Most probably because of a very low android version installed on a high firmware version.
Post fastboot getvar all result (without serial & imei no.) to see what actually that you need.
Thanks for you answer, how can i get fastboot getvard ?
Never expect this kind of question from a "member" of XDA.
Anyway ... connect your device to pc after you put it on bootloader/fastboot mode
Open a command prompt from your adb/fastboot folder then type
fastboot getvar all

That's your problem .. you have Marshmallow 6.12.163.4 firmware but you restored a very old version and it get stuck due to too high firmware.
I don't see anywhere a backup or RUU for 6.12.163.4 around ... you need to find it.
I'll see whether I can find a lower version than make a good collection in my backup thread
Edit : you should have already make your own backup since our last conversation here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=57254494&postcount=3175 .... maybe you can contact him again.
Edit 2 : You can wait and I'll upload 6.12.163.4 backup to my backup thread (link in my signature) either tomorrow or Sunday
Arf, ok, so i will try to find this one. I hope i will get it.
I'm just asking, how can i flash this version (if i find it), since i can't access to my phone, i never do this before ?
I found this for you ....
ROM 4.19.163.2 (+ radio & stock recovery, màd par Migascalp, flash via TWRP*)
Install TWRP then install it as same as you install custom ROM then do OTA to 6.12.163.4
Source : https://monhtcone.com/2015/03/05/boite-a-outils-pour-le-htc-one-m8/comment-page-1/
Thanks to @migascalp

Reinstall TWRP - https://dl.twrp.me/m8/
Download twrp-3.0.2-0-m8.img and place it in your adb/fastboot folder
connect your device to pc after you put it on bootloader/fastboot mode
Open a command prompt from your adb/fastboot folder then type
fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.0.2-0-m8.img
then you get TWRP recovery installed then proceed the rest
gotta go now ... good luck
Thanks a lot Kuala for your help. I download everythings then i do it. I give you news when it's done.
Thanks again mate
Thanks a lot mate for your help.

15 minutes to go for Rom ....
Working great Kuala. Amazing, thanks for advices and help
Arf, it's not working perfectly, i can't install 6.0. It's loading, decompress, but when M8 reboot to install it make error.....
Does some one have idea ?
Thanks for answer.
Why error ? Did you root it ? If you root it, you'll get error.
Here is another way for you :
Install latest TWRP
Restore 6.12.163.4 non-rooted backup
Install 6.12.163.4 stock recovery
Done

A5DWG - Phone Won't Boot

Hi there,
I have a HTC Desire 816 dual sim, i've been using CM v13 for more than 1 years, everything smooth after i changed my custom rom to MoKee (Nougat version). I got several isu when using MK, such as camera not working randomly, phone turned off when the percentages still > 20%, etc.

Okk lets start.......
1st go to fastboot and connect phone with PC and use minimal fastboot and adb to flash recovery on your device. Command "fastboot flash recovery twrp.img"(recovery.img must be renamed as twrp)
2nd type fastboot reboot-bootloader
3rd type exit.
Now phone will boot to bootloader, from bootloader go to recovery and wipe everything including data system cache dalvik cache internal memory external sd card(if inserted). Now flash lineage OS 14.1, wipe cache dalvik cache, flash open gapps pico 7.1(arm) and wipe cache dalvik cache again now reboot
---------- Post added at 09:58 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:55 AM ----------
Now if u are unable to boot into recovery then last option is to extract the system.img from system.new.dat and flashing the system.img by booting into fastboot and running these commands
"fastboot flash system system.img".
Now try and see if it works or not

Now if u are unable to boot into recovery then last option is to extract the system.img from system.new.dat and flashing the system.img by booting into fastboot and running these commands
"fastboot flash system system.img".
Now try and see if it works or not

:cyclops: after the last step (3rd step), i go back to hboot then choose recovery, suddently my phone restarted and still can't enter recovery.
where do i find the system.new.dat ?? if u mean by extract it from Lineage ROM and rename the system.new.dat into system.img, i've done it.
and still, the phone won't boot into recovery or normal boot, phone still suddently turn off and on again.

No no renaming it wont work. First u have to download Auto tool unpack repack from here https://forum.xda-developers.com/general/general/tool-auto-tool-unpack-repack-rom-t3278393.
Now extract the lineage os zip, u will get system.new.dat, file_contexts and system transfer list. Now open file_contexts with notepad++ and save it, choose the type as "All" and save the file, it should not be saved as a text file.
Now open the unpack-repack tool and copy system.new.dat, file_contexts(new one) and system transfer list to the input-dat folder. Now open the unpack tool and click on unpack, there u will get one file named as system.dat.img/system.img(.img is the format). Okk now the actual work begins follow my directions carefully.......
1st make sure u have htc usb drivers, universal adb drivers are installed on your PC.
2nd Download minimal fastboot and adb package from google.
3rd copy the system.dat.img/system.img file to minimal fastboot folder.
4th Boot your phone into fastboot mode and connect with your PC
5th Inside the minimal fastboot folder press shift and right click(mouse button), there u will see "open command prompt here" click on it.
6th Now in the command prompt type fastboot flash system system.img/system.dat.img
7th after the img file gets flashed type fastboot reboot, hope so your device will reboot

@bigsupersquid plz provide him with the system.img if possible
The hboot variables look like the battery is flat dead.
ROMs won't boot with no battery power, they reboot themselves without starting up.
Recovery might do the same, but it didn't used to.
You try a different usb cable to charge with? Usually mine go bad the other way, they still charge badly but lose data and won't talk to the phone, but could be bad cable.
I'm not sure if you can charge the phone in fastboot, might try leaving it plugged in a couple hours. Then do the getvar command with fastboot again and post that battery voltage it gives you.
