Can't get my Camera to ever take a picture with flash. I also don't see a setting to set flash? Am I the only one having issues with this? Where Did you guys find the setting to turn flash on and off for photos? Any help is appreciated!

You have to set HDR to auto and you can toggle the flash.
If you want more settings for the camera, you can also use a 3rd party app like A Better Camera. It allows you to control all the camera settings like flash, exposure compensation, ISO, white balance, etc etc etc.

Is there a way to mod the camera so your can manually focus the shot? Sometimes when in macro mode it over focuses and the image is still blurry.
Thanks

not sure if this is what you were asking for. simply touch the spot on the screen where you need focus before taking a pic?

No that just tells the camera to focus on a specific area of the screen. What I'm wanting to be able to manually adjust the amount of focus on an image

ok, you need "focus ring" like capability. I am not aware of any cam app that can do that. i don't know whether the camera firmware provides interfaces for such (low-level) functionality, but an indirect method would be to use a reference ruler in the pic for gradually adjusting focal length ( still a pain, I know).

Anybody use it? Is it really even necessary? The only app I've used it with is the speedtest. Just curious to know how others have used it.

I've only used it with speedtest as well.

Used it only for speed test also. I guess only for apps that don't run at the same aspect ratio as us. Which most will. Or resolution.
Where can I change the aspect ratio on certain apps?

I forgot that our phones had that option. Now that you brought it up, I just enabled it for a music sight reading app that I downloaded the other day. thanks!

Anyone know how to add an app...or how long it takes to show up in the list to adjust the ratio?
I just installed an app that needs adjusted and it is not listed.
Aspect Ratio Correction Apps
On my Verizon LG G2 when I tap on the Aspect Ratio Correction , it takes me to a screen where the apps are listed and I can check the ones I want . But I haven't checked any .
Would like to ask my fellow xda member is they noticed when taking pictures it takes a few second to register the picture taken, meaning like mine everytime I take a picture it shows "processing" right after i click tue shutter and it will take a few seconds before I can take another picture. Camera settings is at default.

With the camera you can turn off Smart Stabilization and the processing time goes away completely.
does smart stabilization actually work? I've always left it on
yes, the stabilizer is work.
I think it works pretty good in the few tests I've made, but it does cause the lag you were talking about.

Check also that you do not have "HDR" enable. HDR will take a second to complete the process
Using the original camera on autoflash and then hitting the video button in a dark room, the light doesn't come on... Am I missing something here?

I know it has to do with the certain parameters/options you pick. Easy method would be just to reset the settings. I ran into this and after troubleshooting, the light turned back on, because even one setting will turn that led off. It's sensitive to what settings are changed.

I've tried resetting the camera and it's the same. .. When you hit the video button on autoflash the light doesn't come on.... If you set it with flash always on then it comes on...

Just tried this and mine doesn't come on either . Comes on when I take a pic though. I guess we have to turn it on when we want it in a video.

This may sound ignorant but, you can use autoflash on video??... What I said was applying to photos but I never thought flash could automatically turn on based on light changes in video I just thought you had to turn it on or off manually.

I have set it to every recording quality and its never an option for me to select. Any ideas? I also can't seem to find smooth video recording?

You must go into settings to choose video stabilization and HDR must be turned off.

Thank you so much!! So what is the preferred shooting method for video? I'm going to the beach this weekend for the blue angels air show an want to shoot some videos. Is it better to have HDR on or video stabilization?
Sent from my SM-N910V using XDA Free mobile app
I like stabilization better and I personally shoot in FHD. The higher video resolutions does Not allow HDR, stabilization or dual cameras. Just start shooting now and see which mode works best for you. Good to familiarize yourself with the options. Good luck!
