[Q] How do you know if your Galaxy S3 is on the official or leaked version of 4.3 ???

I have a galaxy s3 that i need to downgrade bcuz of networking issues and becuz i rather 4.1.1 or 4.1.2.....but i'm seeing where u should #NOT downgrade from stock 4.3 but you can downgrade if you're on the leaked version of 4.3...
1. How do you identify which version is which?
2. Can i really downgrade it if it is the leaked version?
3. What do i need to downgrade?? and #instructions would be greatly appreciated ._.

1: to find your version check settings/about phone/ baseband version. You will see the end of the string is MJB, or MJ2....etc
Official = MJB Leak = MJ2
2: Yes

If you are on stock, you can still flash ROMs, just be absolutely sure that they do not contain bootloaders. See third post here as reference. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2558311

step 1 will give him his modem info and not his bootloader.
He should install Root Checker by Free Android Tools from Google Play. That will show the bootloader

No baseband CM11

Hi
I wonder why i dont have any baseband after flashing CM11 roms?
Im at 4.3 knox bootloader.
My device is n7105 International...

Sorry for the noob question, I have N7100 international version with the bad bootloader (associated with 4.3). Did some modding but I would like to install DN3 which I downloaded (DN3_v3.2_by_E-Team_(Vegeta_Edition)). Is it possible with that bootloader ? My version number ends with XXUEMK9

If your bootloader is MK9 then you don't need to upgrade to latest bootloader which is ND3.Only drawback of being on the older bootloader is that you cannot charge your phone by turning it off it will turn back on.If you don't care about this then stick to MK9 if you want to upgrade to ND3 then you can do that after flashing the ROM.Also my advise for you to is to flash DN3 V5.2 it's the latest release and based on KitKat 4.4.2.
DN3 V5.2 scroll all the way to the bottom for the links,there are two versions full and lite only difference is that lite has bloatware removed such as samsung apps and all that full version has all that but while going through aroma set up you can choose what you would like to keep.
nd3 bootloader to be flashed via pc odin using the bootloader tab only after flashing DN3 ROM.

Sorry I just happened to check your reply on the thread since you didn't quote my post while replying.Glad it worked out for you.To know which bootloader you are on download phone info app for samsung from playstore it will tell you that.Regarding 4.3 bootloader from 4.3 onwards all bootloaders knox and they can only be upgraded not downgraded so if a newer bootloader after ND3 arrives you can upgrade to that but you won't be able to go back to ND3.

Just lost my wifi/bt & wifi hotspot after using dn3 5+ for a several days.. I return back to 4.3 custom rom and stock rom hoping to fix this problem but no luck..

Oh, yeah sorry I'm not used to quoting. I am really happy with this rom except for two things : battery life is a little shorter (didn't install greenify yet), and there this app always stopping when I play music with deezer : soundalive. Changed it for the other FX something I can't remember but now it's OK. Thanks!

Towelroot: This phone isn't currently supported

Okay so I installed Towelroot on my stock Galaxy S4, t when I hit make it rain I get the message "This phone isn't currently supported". Can't find anything about this anywhere and I worked before, but I had to restore my phone to stock, so I could get Android 4.4.4. Help!

You can use chainfire's autoroot. It will trip knox, however. No other way at the moment.

You can still use towelroot, but you need to flash back the 4.4.2 NB4 stock kernel through odin. After rooted reflash the new 4.4.4 NH7 stock kernel. There you go, rooted NH7 knox 0x0.

Towel root not working.
Please, can you tell me how to extract actual kernel from my firmware to reflash after root ?
Where can I download kernel 4.4.2 NB4 for root ?

I flash back to 4.4.2 NB4 stock kernel through Odin, rooted my phone using Towelroot and then reflash the 4.4.4 NH7 stock kernel and checked to see if I had root using Root Checker and it says " Sorry! This device does not have proper root access"

Download supersu and install su binaries.

I have GT-I9195 and when i tryed to root with Towelroot it sais "phone isn't currently supported"
How can I root it?

Towelroot will work only on old kernels meaby like from may and back. (Mayo para atras) sorry didnt knew in inglish

hi friend..iam at stock rom Android 4.4.2 for i9195 s4 mini...i dont like kitkat i want to downgrad to 4.2.2 how can i do this???NOTE: I DONT CARE ABOUT KNOX BECAUSE IAM NOT AT THE WARRANTY NOW

Its not possible to downgrade, kk introduced Knox boot loader 2.0 if you try to downgrade modem won't work

there is only one jellybean 4.2.2 firmware u can downgrade to.
I9195UBUBNE2... Brazil.. csc is ZTO.
No other 4.2.2 rom can be used. Only that brazil firmware can be used to downgrade. Good luck.

download i9195ububne2 firmware. extract the zip and u will get a "tar.md5" file.
Open odin and click on PDA/AP and choose the extracted file. DO NOT CHANGE ANY OTHER OPTIONS. click start. It will flash without any issues.
YOU CANNOT DOWNGRADE TO OTHER JELLYBEAN ROMs. DO NOT FLASH ANY OTHER JB ROM. Only this ROM works as this has same bootloader as kitkat roms.

I have a big battery drain with 2g-3g connection from KitKat, that persist even in CM12.
If i downgrade to the Brazil 4.2.2 i will have problem being in Italy ?
