I was wondering if there was a way to unlock the Galaxy SII for free. I know that you can use like adb to unlock the MyTouch 4G Slide. Can something one do something like that with this phone?
btw, I tried the "Galaxy S Unlock" app from the Play Store, and it didn't work.
Do what I did. Call tmobile and tell them that you are leaving the country for a while and want to use a different carrier to avoid roaming charges. Bam. I had my unlock code within 24 hours.

yeahhh. I know about that, but I don't like how you are supposed to wait 3 months in between unlocking. and i might actually leave the country in less than three months. and the other phone is neither unlocked nor rooted.
Nope, only way is to call T-Mobile for a code....or a third party vendor

I was a member of the Beta program for that.
The Verizon HTC One and many Verizon devices will remain unsupported by that due to Verizon's bootloader policies.
The program needs to be able to unlock a stock device and install CyanogenMod.
It cannot unlock a stock Verizon HTC One via HTCdev like it could other variants.
Therefore it cannot be officially supported.
If you do manage to unlock your Verizon HTC One, chances are that you can find and install our Official version yourself.

Porting would be a ton of work and likely lots of bugs. By the time it's usable official 4.4.2 would likely be out.
March 3, that's the date someone on Sprint Community forums posted. But don't know myself for sure. Last time they said that it actually happened so it maybe real.

Hopefully that's true, because it gives time for devs to find a root/boot unlock method by the time it drops. That way can just OTA and be good to go...hopefully.

You don't need sim for update, I have a second G2 from Sprint, disconnected from account it still got ZVA update.

ZVA is still 4.2.2. He's talking about 4.4.2. But what you say is true, OTA update is available over wifi!

Sorry to say you should have gotten the Verizon one if you wanted gsm compatability in US as well, I hear there are problems using the LS980 on other US carriers. Besides Verizon version also has wireless charging, only downside is small buttons and that hideous Verizon emblem lol.
No i prefer this one. Im using it on tmo and the problems are no big deal. I got it for 140 and i can still use it with sprint if i want...

Whenever Sprint gets it... it will be at least 4.2 years before I do bc I have verizon and verizon won't release kitkat until google agrees to change the name from KitKat to Android AT&T, T-Mobile and Sprint Can Suck It. And my update has to make my device apply no less than 47 more verizon logos to itself.

Lol, don't worry I believe Verizon's last update was a prep for Kikat, so it should be out soon.

That's what I heard when we got that 12b update but that was like 9 years ago. I just like poking fun at my carrier. They're ridiculous.

Have a nice offer for tab S 8.4 sm-T707A.
I don't live in USA. Want to use it with GSM network in Europe.
S it possible to replace the rom with T705 rom?

No, that is a bootloader locked device and not able to be customised at all.
And there is no way to unlock bootloader? I don't care about Knox triggered.

Unfortunately not. Your only hope is kingroot. If you get root you can at least customise it.
So, it's not worth 200$... (New)?

You may be able to get the AT&T unlock code to use it on another carrier. I have the same tablet and am currently waiting for an unlock code from AT&T. My first request was denied, so I got on the chat and they escalated the request as all requirements are met. So we'll see.
The unlock won't remove the AT&T start logo or at&t apps but should allow it to be used on another carrier, if that's what you're looking for.
I was told not to expect a response from AT&T until after the 19th, so hopefully they come through for me.
Guys, I use the method in the ATT Note 4 forum to unlock my phone when it came out long time ago. Now after 5.1.1 and security updates. No more unlocked (asking for codes when putting Tmobile sim again). Any one knows the thread to unlock this phone again to use with other GSM carriers?
