Is it possible to convert sm-t707a into t705? - Galaxy Tab S Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Have a nice offer for tab S 8.4 sm-T707A.
I don't live in USA. Want to use it with GSM network in Europe.
S it possible to replace the rom with T705 rom?

No, that is a bootloader locked device and not able to be customised at all.

And there is no way to unlock bootloader? I don't care about Knox triggered.

Unfortunately not. Your only hope is kingroot. If you get root you can at least customise it.

So, it's not worth 200$... (New)?

You may be able to get the AT&T unlock code to use it on another carrier. I have the same tablet and am currently waiting for an unlock code from AT&T. My first request was denied, so I got on the chat and they escalated the request as all requirements are met. So we'll see.
The unlock won't remove the AT&T start logo or at&t apps but should allow it to be used on another carrier, if that's what you're looking for.
I was told not to expect a response from AT&T until after the 19th, so hopefully they come through for me.

[Q] SIM Unlocking

I was wondering if there was a way to unlock the Galaxy SII for free. I know that you can use like adb to unlock the MyTouch 4G Slide. Can something one do something like that with this phone?
btw, I tried the "Galaxy S Unlock" app from the Play Store, and it didn't work.
Do what I did. Call tmobile and tell them that you are leaving the country for a while and want to use a different carrier to avoid roaming charges. Bam. I had my unlock code within 24 hours.

yeahhh. I know about that, but I don't like how you are supposed to wait 3 months in between unlocking. and i might actually leave the country in less than three months. and the other phone is neither unlocked nor rooted.
Nope, only way is to call T-Mobile for a code....or a third party vendor

Samsung Galaxy S III sgh-t999v unlock

Hello
I've been searching this forums for the past two hours searching for a clear answer to my question but I haven't found anything accurate.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S III sgh-t999v bought from Wind in Canada and I have know left the country for Europe.
when I bought the phone I was told that it was unlocked but when I try using my new sim it keeps telling me I need an unlock code.
What I would like to know is if my phone can be unlocked to be used here in Europe without the unlock code?
Does flashing/rooting my phone makes it unlocked?
I appreciate any help/answers to my problem.
Thank you guys.

No. Rooting your phone does not gsm unlock it. Either call your carrier and ask for the unlock code .. or pay online for one.

Like crisis stated just call your carrier and ask for an unlock code... Your account has to be in good state I believe. Or else pay.

What if I loaded a STOCK FIRMWARE from AT&T on my T-Mobile?

What would happen? Can any developers comment on this? I have a tmobile phone and I was wondering if this could be an alternative to unlocking the phone for use on at&T. thanks.
Doing that will not unlock your phone. You need the unlock code...you maaaaay cause a brick.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using xda premium
Probably will, you get an unlock code.
I believe you could brick it, I've never had a phone re-lock with diffrent firmware. The best case is you will have no reception due to different carrier frequency.

either get teh code from AT&T (if you're a customer) or pay $25 for it at one of the unlock code sites. there are no 'free' options outside of the carrier.
To get the code from ATT, dont you have to pay the full price of the phone though? Also, if you do the 25$ unlock code thingy, does the unlock stay forever (even if I do an update or change ROM's)?

No, I got my code from At&t after owning my device for 40 something days through upgrade and unlock stays forever ...even when OTA or ROM changing.

[Q] Turning your T-mobile firmware into a factory firmware

Hello guys,
I am actually just starting to post here. So sorry in advance for anything wrong I do. I recently bought a Samsung Note 3. It is a phone locked to T-mobile. What I want to do is turn the phone's software into factory software (what I mean with that is the software that comes with factory unlocked phones). I really want it to be no different from an originally unlocked phone because I will use it abroad as well and I don't want all the software that comes with T-mobile. Is this possible? If yes, will it be any different from a factor unlocked phone?
This phone is the same as an unlocked note 3 except it has some extra tmobile apps.

Sim and region lock is apparently easy to remove with chainfire's app. Then just remove or freeze the bloat.
Who cares about region lock unless you go to Guatemala every Thursday.

Apparently a lot of people.
sent from my sm-900t.
Can somebody answer the question,please.
Start at this link. I know a user with a T-Mobile phone that unlocked his sim to use it on ATT had the side effect of clearing the region lock, the op in this linked thread alludes to it in his post.
