[Q] How do i install BoostHD rom on my arc s

hey,
i am new here and not sure if this is right place to ask but if you would kindly tell how to install the boosthd rom plz. Its my first rom installation and not sure how to do it

thanks for the help, but now i can't figure out how to install the kernal. do u have to rename it to boot.img or something

Either rename or use fastboot flash boot bootanzu126.img, presuming you are downloading this kernel.

[Q] upgraded to FXP201 but no wifi

i have upgraded to FXP201, but my wifi doens't work, can anyone help???? it was working with FXP 151 beforeeee

i couldn't post in the android development board, so i thougth i should post here
no, didn't flash the new kernel...do i have to?? cos i didn't for some of the other versions~ will i lose my apps once flashed the new kernal??

Just on the wifi.. ofcourse it wont on.. just on it . and reboot it... then wifi works.. click thanks if i helped ..

You should actually READ the instructions before flashing anything or applying any mods to your Phone, if more People did xda wouldn't be filled with pointless posts like this reporting things have absolutely nothing to do with the ROM/kernel/mod or whatever.

Trouble with that is, the original post makes no mention of a new kernel. And there's nothing on the FXP Google site, either about a new kernel for 201.
I would've thought a problem with wifi would definitely be a problem with the ROM/kernel/mod. Trouble with this site is there are far too many posts knocking people down - and with a thread that's only 7 posts long prior to this, a little patience and a point in the right direction to the kernel sources - as you appear to know everything there is to know - wouldn't have gone amiss.

I've replied to a post in the exact same manner I would of with someone who had made 50,000 posts, should you read the instructions before flashing anything, YES as I've stated, and if you or anyone else doesn't like my opinion in response to a user who's started a thread to report an issue then gone on to state they haven't followed all the instructions, tough, you either understand my methods or you don't.
The kernel is in the zip they downloaded which they should already know as they've been running 151.

thanks for your help, because i have been upgrading from 147 to 151 without flashing the boot.img in the zip file, so i would assume that i dont have to flash it, because the wifi was working all along when i upgraded to the different versions
now that i have flashed the new kernal, it works all fine now!! thanks for everyone who has helped though!

ALWAYS update the kernel, then if you do run in to issues like this you know it's something else.

I can't decide which one to flash.

No best rom.just pick one which you like and flash it.you can easily find it.take your time to do a research and read OP carefully.

For 4.2 ROMs use Philz Touch 5.15.9, for 4.4 ROMs use latest Philz Touch 6.* or latest CWM or TWRP 2.7.1.0.
And which is best? Try all and make your own decision. Like 99% members here Grab attached fastboot files.

What? Are you read the OP? He ask wich custom rom to install not how to flash recovery or ROM. And if you read the rules you will see comparison in XDA is forbidden

And have you read his entire post? He doesn't know how to flash ROM. And if he doesn't know how to flash a ROM do you think he knows how (and which) recovery to flash? And to comparison: did I compare any ROM?. A perfectly know it's forbiden here. And everybody like something else, so no point of comparing them...

ok agree. but it is easy to find guide instead of asking. It will be good the members first to search for guide and if something is not clear to ask

Write permissions after marshmallow root

Hi
I have m8 sense version that I update to marshmallow Im s-on.
After the update I flash trwp 3.0.0 and boot of gpe and the supersu 2.67
every thing look OK ( I have checked with root checker and I'm rooted) but when Im trying to use app that need write permissions like Adaway that need to write the hosts file
its says that I dont have write permission
And after any reboot the file goes back to default
Any idea ?

You need to flash this zip file :
m8-mmgpe-wp_mod.zip
from the thread above and this will fix the write permissions problem

I agree that the link in Post#2 could have used some additional explanation.
But I thought it was a bit strange that it seems like you spent time looking for another thread, when one with the solution was already provided?

Were you trying to say you flashed a GPE based ROM? Because that is not what "boot" means (boot.img just refers to the kernel, hboot is just the bootloader).
Based on your wording, I can see how the user in Post #2 thought you were on a Sense ROM (and supplied the wp mod for Sense). If you are trying to say you found/posted the right wp mod for GPE, than that makes more sense (no pun intended).
