Hi all,
I have to send my LG G3 (D855) back to Three (Faulty Handset) and require all the bloat that comes preinstalled with it so phone looks untouched etc..
Can anyone point me in the right direction to get these files\folders (Bootanimations, preinstalled apps etc)?
Thanks in advance

Three are normally dead on with warrenty stuff, are you swapping devices with delivery man at your door? If so, having no three bloat wont matter. As by the time three get it back, they aint gonna care what the devices past is. I sent my bricked (totaly my fault haha) G3 back to them which had a G2 TWRP and G2 bootloader on it. They didnt even know and swapped the device asap.

Hi leomd333,
The only reason why I want to put back the oem software is because they have said that if they found that I have modified the phone in anyway then I could incur a charge of up to the value of the replacement handset so I just want cover my own backside and bank balance, lol
Sorry I cant quote for some reason haha and Damn ok if they said that, bloat is important! Have you tried flashing the Three KDZ or is the bloat 100% gone?
Defo gone. I was mucking about last week to get rid of the horrid three bootanimation and box, three likes and the three app and replace with stock lg animation which went fine but but forgot to back up the originals before tinkering (should know better as I work with data on a day to day basis, lol).
Now been using for a week and have had numerous freezing and have to physically pull battery to restart.
I have wiped and flashed the three uk 10A firmware using my IMEI but my changes remained.
I could add the apps manually would rather be in original state before sending back.
Edit:
Just found a titanium backup. Have restored backup then factory reset and the pre installed apps returned.
Also wiped handset and flashed 3 firmware again and apps stayed.
Now just need to find the original bootanimations to replace the lg boot animation with the 3 branded one's and I think I'm good to go.

Same here, mine is 100% unbranded now, seems to be a folder that is not affected by kdz flashing. I think it is the Data/OP. Folder or something but where you could find that ik really unsure, ill have a look.

I think I have a stock Central Europe(shipped w/o blur) ROM extracted, including the boot image, recovery image, and all the /system contents. The bad news is that the boot and recovery have to be signed images, so i guess before anyone cracks the bootloader we won't be messing with boot(and the kernel).
So far I cannot get any other recoveries beside this(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=942160). Any suggestions?
that should be fine i have no intentions of change anything but the system.img anyway
flipout recovery app should work fine i was gonna use advanced restore to switch system
images
could you upload the extracted imgs for me
wen r u uploading the original rom?thanks
i will be delayed by couple of days
orange say they cant repair it now so i have ordered one

Hmm... the update.zip from Motorola doesn't help much, since it's not a full flash image. Stuff dumped from the modded CWM recovery works, but has already been somewhat modded in order to boot the recovery.
See if we can find any sbf full flashes like these. I'm uploading the system image from the deblured Central Europe ROM soon.
soz thought it was full
orange say go to moto
moto say go to orange
from what i can find out orange push their mods in
would love to know how with bootloader locks'n'all
ibricked my flipout 3 weeks ago
couldnt find any thing else but my phone wouldnt boot so i couldnt try it

Thanks but this is the upgrade to uk orange rom...i have it but it needs stock orange rom to be installed as I have installed retail flipout rom on mine without backing the original up...and my flipout is having problem with reception and gps so i need to send for warranty checkup...and retail rom on orange phone wont b covered in warranty....WARRANTY VOID already coz of retail rom just wana install stock rom n send it back for repairs I have searched internet for days n nights but cudnt find it any where your post is my last hope now
cool but thats all i can find aswell
the file on my hard drive is the same thing (i think)
orange wernt interested when i asked them for it
when trying to fix mine and motorola say
that it is oranges responsibility to provide it
sorry m8
i will keep looking tho
btw did you tell them you flashed it or not
and as far as sbf ruth site suggests orange uk .sbf doesnt exist
only for france
you could try the uk blur then flash the update.zip
might work
my new handset will be debranded euro
would it work if you restore just the system.img from another orange flipout then unroot
because the cwm recovery for this thing isnt flashed to the recovery partition
orange shouldnt see it

That's the euro ROM, no blur, no mods, with the google stuff.
now i wonder how you bricked your phone.
BTW, the /system/bin/charge_only_mode looks interesting to me, wonder if it can be used to boot a custom recovery.

Hello all,
So I bought my HTC Wildfire S Virgin Mobile on black friday like everybody else. I waited a few days and then rooted. And then I had the brilliant idea to try installing the CM 7.1 Mod for it. And well, I didn't do a Clockwork Backup, and well, it didnt work very well. The phone got stuck on the HTC screen. So finally I installed a different ROM, JikantaruROM, and I managed to get past the bootscreen but I can't use my carrier anymore. So I was wondering if anybody could either tell me how to flash CM 7.1 Unoffical release to my phone, or if anybody knew a way I could get back to the original Virgin Mobile software. It seems that you have all the other stock roms, so I would REALLY appreciate if someone could share the Virgin Mobile rom too.
Thanks in advance,
Wieland959
Seconded. Although I think mine is in a slightly worse case; I kept flashing roms and ended up in a state where it turns on, screen remains black, then the phone vibrates three times and evidently does nothing. So Wieland959, I'd advise you to stop flashing until someone posts the ROM.
And if someone could let me know how to recover from my current state, I'd very much appreciate it.

Your in the same boat I was just in. My solution was to go back to radioshack with the receipt and tell them it just turned off and wouldnt turn back on. Just doing the 3 vibrations. I did spend hours trying to search about how to fix it, but I dont think theres a way unless you use a jtag hookup and some sort of fancy programmer.
@Wieland959, If you want. I just tried to do the OTA update through the settings on the phone itself. It would let me download the file(I believe it should be flashable through the cwm recovery), but when I tried to let the phone install the file, I would get the android with the exclamation mark after the reboot. Ill try to post here, if it will upload. But......
DISCLAIMER!!!!
I take no responsibility for anyone damaging their phone using the file here. This file, as far as I know, should only work with the Wildfire S Virgin Mobile USA CDMA model A510C as this is the phone the file was downloaded from.
Thank you for the file, but I couldn't flash it. What might work though, if you are willing is, if you have rooted your phone, to make a cwm backup and upload that here. From there I should be able to recover and then factory wipe my phone. But thank you anyways for the file. I will keep kicking until the phone doesn't boot.
How are you planning on restoring from backup if the phone doesn't even boot?
Sorry, I'm new to this...

Okay. I managed to boot my phone and am able to send/receive texts. The rom I used? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1367701] It seems to work pretty well. However, I would still like to have the original rom if someone could still upload it.
VM USA Stock Clockwork Backup
Well, I don't know much about stuff like this, but here is my clockwork mod recovery backup. It's just the stock VM USA w/HTC Sense. I have realized that I deleted the bloatware, so that's the only thing that isn't 100% stock. Hope it helps.
*Unzip the file before placing on you sd card. (Contains the clockwork folder, which contains the backup folder, and then the folder that contains the backup itself.)*

Thanks for the backup! It worked perfect for me!
would you mind if i posted the link on another forum? i know of a couple people looking for a backup aswell.
You should be able to switch back with the recovery no problem. Correct me if I'm wrong, but to install boot into recovery, install from SD, select specific, and select the zip of the rom. Also, I don't have my phone on me so the wording might be a little different.
MMS is a known issue with the rom from what I've read. I don't have it installed personally.
@brandonhun, Thank you so much. You're a life saver. As far as the rom goes, it still have sense on it and there are tons of MMS errors. So just wait and eventually something will pop up.

I haven't done this ROM change but if its the stock HTC Sense go to personalize and get HTC widgets (perhaps its get more HTC widgets) and you should find an update to the clock widget. That should give you the original clock plus a bunch more new ones.

So I unlocked my bootloader, installed TWRP and rooted my phone. Next I downloaded titanium backup and uninstalled all the apps that I didn't want like kid mode and fitbit and TV etc... But whenever I restart the phone, all the apps are reinstalled again. Never had this issue on my S4. Does anybody know what's up?

So what you're saying is that I have to flash a new kernel? If so, that's too complicated... I only rooted because I wanted to remove the bloatware stuff and leave everything else untouched. I'm kind of regretting it now.
Has anyone figured out a way to unroot and lock the bootloader again for the M8?
I understand - you're pretty new to this device and maybe to HTC's write protection they invented last year. That's ok mate.
With TWRP installed it's a very simple thing to flash the new kernel. Did you already do some flashing on these devices? I think it's more complicated to get root the first time than flashing a zip from TWRP. :good:
Anyway I'll help you there. Simply download Flars kernel and copy the zip-file to your internal SD-card. Boot into TWRP and choose the install option. Navigate to your internal SD and select that zip file. Start flashing and choose simply the defaults you get offered by the aroma installer. Finish, reboot and the write protection is gone. TB will work as always.

Thanks a trillion. But this thing was bugging me, so I said to hell with it and just installed the GPE RUU. How I don't have to deal with any of that nonsense since none of the bloat apps are installed in the first place. Now I just have to figure out how to reinstall TWRP and root again... This stuff seems a lot more complicated then just using ODIN on Samsung devices, at least for the time being while I'm still so new HTC stuff.
worked.
I'm using HTC since a couple of years and bought a S4 Mini for my daughter last year. Last week my sister stepped in with her Sony device. Don't ask how long it took me to understand and root these devices... lol.
If you need to know sth about HTC devices simply step in and pm me. But I think you'll be soon familiar with the differences! :good:

Hey guys, i just got a used M8 and the previous owner hard reset it before giving it to me..
So i lost everything from the internal sd, could someone upload a back up for me?
I'm looking mostly for the items in the following folders:
.data
.showme
DCIM
Download
Music
and the root of the sd..
Thanks in advance for any help!
Of course the previous owner deleted everything , but you lost it.....that's kinda weird because what is your stuff doing on another person's phone ! What you expect ?
If an app needs it's folder it will create it. Not sure what your problem is ?
I didn't had my stuff on the phone. I wrote that i want back the stock stuff that htc put's in storage, like stock photos, music etc..
Anyone?

Had this happen, as I factory resetted (from bootloader) because I was having random reboots. Wasn't expecting to lose all the preloaded media, to be honest I usually weed out any unwanted stuff anyway, but though that surely that stuff should survive a factory reset. Thankfully, after updating firmware the reboots appear to have gone.
Below is a thread for restoring T-Mobile preload I found, as I have the international model I wouldnt be using this but was going to have a look at the compressed archive to see if anything can be extracted.

HTC's response at the link below. I hadnt backed anything up as I thought this stuff was 'built-in' and store internally and so wouldnt be affected. I hadn't really set the phone up properly, which is also why I didnt try to back up anything. So unless someone who is possibly rooted can extract the files there doesnt seem to be any other way of getting them.

My wife's phone has randomly rebooting very frequently and would like to know if anyone else has had the same problem. I have the log if it will help I tried looking at it but could not find anything that stuck out to be honest I don't know what I'm looking for. If anyone can help please let me know. Also we took it to the sprint store and low and behold not one time did reboot. She brings it home and it has rebooted several times while on Wi-Fi and on 4G no difference. It is not rooted in any way.
Does it have an SD card formatted as internal/adaptive?
Mine somehow stopped working 4 days ago and the phone started rebooting randomly. Found out it was the adoptive storage. Had to factory reset and format the card as external.

Did you try a factory reset? Maybe a problematic app? Try also cleaning the cache in the Recovery (before committing to a Factory Reset)

Sadly I don't know how to work these. I unzipped it but it's a unix executable (according to my mac). This ones the real pros might be able to help.
Yes did a factory reset and it started about abb hour she reset it. So we are going to the Sprint store again and have them swap it out for another one today I was talking to get on the phone this morning and it rebooted while we were talking

That sounds like a power problem. If it's a new phone, yes, return it for a new phone.

Thanks for the help with problem solving the phone. Took the phone to Sprint and they said it was a hardware issue and replaced it with a new phone and all is right as rain. So thanks everyone for the support.
