Has anyone had problems with getting the supposed LG theme manager to pop up? I can't find anything on the forum, everyone acts like its installed from stock. But I can't seem to find it anywhere. I also downloaded LG smartworld app and down loaded a theme. It asked to install, nothing. Someone suggested installing nova and it would make the LG theme manager pop up. Nothing. Here is a screen shot of my display screen. Help please. Thank you.

Sorry to hear that. Download LG Flash tool 2014. (Find instructions on xda on how to use it... Super easy)
Enter this link followed by your imei at the end of the link with no spaces.
link:
smg.lgmobile.com:9002/csmg/b2c/client/auth_model_check2.jsp?esn=
The link will look like an error message, but will include another link to your most current firmware kdz format, enter it, it will start the download.
Put the phone in download mode.
Take the kdz file put it in LG Flash tool 2014 and follow the on screen instructions. It should take 5 min. And you're okay to do a normal flash, to fix the errors. I don't think you will need to do the CSE flash option on LG Flash Tool.

Download launcher pro, add the activities widget to the lg launcher home screen. Open it, select home hidden user menu. Now open the widget icon and scroll down a ways and check " feature use theme ". Now you'll have the theme option.

I can't follow this for some reason.
I download launcher pro and I can get to the activities shortcut, but there is no way to add the activities widget to the home screen. I can add a shortcut ( most of which dont launch anything) within the activities shortcut but that's it.

If you downloaded Launcher Pro then the stock LG home screen settings aren't gonna do you any good.

I thought the purpose was to reveal the hidden user menu for the lg themes.
No biggie, I'll just do without or hope for some kind of update from t-mo.

Very smooth launcher
Got my OG Pro and i love it. I know u can press and hold an icon and click the purple box to change the icon, but is there a way to install a icon pack so you could select from those? Or is there a way to get the icons in the gallery so u could just select them?
I don't think its possible.

Go to the play store. There are different options for using other than stock icons even if it boils down to just using a different launcher.

You could always get elesbb's APK Tool GUI to decompile an icon pack .apk from the Play Store. After you decompile you'll have a few folders with all of the icon .png files for the icons. You can pull them from there and stick them on your SD card to select them from your gallery. It'd be a bit of leg work, but it might be worth it to you.
I wanted to switch my bottom buttons to the familiar HTC order, "Home, Menu, Back" but LG does not offer this option. While finding a solution, I found a pretty cool program that most probably already know about, but some might not. It allows you to do what I needed to do, plus much more.
CREDIT: First and foremost, all credit goes to rovo89 and his thread located here. Be sure to send him "thanks."
Step 1: Goto the Google Play Store and download, "G2 Xposed" (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tinyroar.xposedlgg2).
Step 2: Download the Xposed Installer APK and install it.
Step 3: Launch the Xposed Installer.
Step 4: Go to the "Framework" section and click on "Install/Update."
Step 5: Reboot
Step 6: Launch the Xposed Installer again and go to the "Modules" section (you will also get there if you click on the notification warning you that the module is not enabled yet).
Step 7: Enable the LG G2 module by checking the checkbox.
Step 8: Reboot.
Step 9: Enjoy.
Works great! I've been hearing a lot about xposed but never knew where to find it or if it would work properly with the ls980. Thanks a bunch! I finally have my recents key again!

Already have Xposed installed using the G2 module listed in the OP. Its great being able to get rid of the volume slider and the Quick Settings bar that take so much of the notification window real estate.
Awesome thanks for this.

Does anyone know if this plays nice with XBlast Tools?
Messing around with it - cool options so far.
What if I want to remove all changes and go back to stock look? Do I just uncheck the module?

When I installed this I started to get some lag on my phone. Uninstalling it made it go away. Anyone else experience this?

Nope. Zero lag for me. It must be something else on your phone.

Does this only effect the default launcher or can it be used on top of other launchers such as Nova?
This is absolutely perfect. With the G2 Module and GravityBox Module, it feels pretty close to PA or AOKP.

The only time my nav and status bar change colors is when I'm in an app. When I'm on the home screen they both are black.
I might ad I am using spring LS980 also how do I remove the gap after making the nav bar smaller see attached photo I am rather OCD and this drives me NUTS

Hey gang,
I can't find the shortcut to launch the LG Health app. It's NOWHERE to be found on my phone! I know the app is installed as I can access it via the 'G' screen on the left of the home screens. I don't have any apps hidden in the app drawer either.
Can any of you guys see it in your app drawer?
You have use the LG extra page, whatever the name, to see it. You can't start the app itself it seems.

How rubbish! I won't be using that then.
Thanks
Yeah you can only use the widget at the home screen.
Is there some smart app to create your own shortcut maybe? A lot of LG stuff goes out the window if you start using another launcher.

I've just done that very thing!
I'm using Nova and I've made an shortcut to a Nova 'Activity' which exposes everything the phone can do pretty much.
If you're not using Nova there are apps in the store that will do the same. Smart Shortcuts is one.

Interesting.... Have you found one that gives you access to the Widget 'Smart Notice'?
That is the one widget I would like to use with Nova.
It's also a shame Nova does not give you access to LG Health by means of a separate home screen. Yes you can do as you say, make a shortcut Activity to LG Health but an icon is not the same as swiping to its own widget style home screen!
What Launcher are you guys using? I personally use Nova, paired with the G3 stock ui is a pretty sweet combination and improves performance.
Apex, pretty much the same
Nova all the way.
But I'm wondering how Nokia's zLauncher is. And/Or will the 18k plus laying off of jobs by Microsoft will affect zLauncher?
I use Nova too but original LG widgets are unable to load on Nova. Anyway workarounds?
Sent from my LG-D855 using XDA Free mobile app
I'm using LG Home for the LG widgets. I really like their calendar widget. I wish the left panel was a bit more useful, though. I'll probably eventually switch back to Nova.

I usually always use Nova, but since day one I've used LG. Sure I'll end up using Nova but once you go there....your there! I'm trying to hold out and give stock a chance. Makes my phone still feel new instead of the same themes I've used on my S5, on my Note3 on my Nexus, Etc etc etc.......
I'm still optimistic about getting my LG Smart World themes to work.
I wonder if I can port Touchwiz Themes from my S5?????

The way I have it now is;
Download: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.katecca.screenofflock
Then set double tap in Gestures (Nova Settings) to launch Screen Off. Works perfect, however I would love to find a solution without the use of a third party screen off app.
Thanks, that works great!

I'm using the G3 TweaksBox exposed module and there is an option for a double tap of the notification bar to turn the screen off. It doesn't work on the whole screen, but just the notification bar, so you have to have good aim. Lol. But it does work well.
