So I'm looking to purchase an LG G3, however I wanted a unlocked model without carrier bloatware. I'd like to be able to use it with AT&T LTE. IWhat's my best option?

1) you buy the at&t one, root and delete the bloatware
2) you buy the international one
Unlocked is about the state of the bootloader and I thing you ment something else, if you need a unlocked bootloader try the T-mobile version.

I am an AT&T subscriber and in the market for an LG G3. The AT&T version comes with a locked bootloader which means I will probably never be able to install a custom recovery and flash CyanogenMod on it which is a must for me. I realize that other versions will not work with AT&T LTE and I am completely fine with just HSDPA+ - which versions of the phone support AT&T HSDPA+ and come with unlocked bootloader?

No, but I've heard of getting unlock codes for as little as $6 on Ebay.
Plus Tmo is rumored to start a new thing soon where they put an unlock app either on the phone itself or on the Play Store and you can unlock it right there.
You'd want to get the Tmo version, though, because it's fully compatable with AT&T's LTE bands.
I just started using an AT&T branded G3 unlocked on Tmobile. I have no idea if I can flash Tmobile ROMs or if I need to stick with roms only built for AT&T? Someone please clear this up for me once and for all. Thanks!
I wouldn't flash anything thats not specifically made to work with your device. Tmobile g3 has an unblocked bootloader all other g3's are locked currently. Flash something thats not made for your specific device and you may have a paperweight.
As the title states, I am using my Verizon LG G3 on T-Mobile. I have everything working fine on the stock Verizon firmware. I want to load a custom ROM, but unclear on if I should load a VZW or Tmo version. I assume I can make a VZW version work, but I would prefer to run a Tmo version. Is it possible to load a Tmo ROM on here or should I stick with the VZW tailored stuff? Thanks.
The bootloader is locked on the Verizon version of this phone. You will not be able to install any rom at this time
You should've bought a Tmo G3 from the start, its bootloader is unlocked and you can load anything you want on it.
I guess it comes down to which LTE bands are available and which carriers' phones can be BL-Unlocked. Please tell me if t his has changed, but I'm used to AT&T bootloaders not being unlockable, while TMO bootloaders are often readily unlockable but their devices don't always use the same bands as AT&T's network.
I'm pretty sure I want an M9. It looks like ATT/TMO hardware are the same, though I don't know which bands are available on their respective ROMS. I really want my device unlocked, and I might want to run a custom ROM at some point.
Is it recommended to get an unlocked TMO phone for use on AT&T, or does the TMO ROM limit the available LTE bands in any way? Or is there any reason I should just go with the AT&T version because, for example, it's easily rooted and/or there's a way to unlock the BL?
Thanks in advance.
Get the AT&T version.
HTC allows you to unlock the BL.
Sunshine allows you to S-off so you can convert it to the Developer Edition.
This is what I did, got the AT&T version through them then converted the Dev Edition
i have tried reading multiple threads but i seem to be getting conflicting answers.
can you buy an s20 variant from verizon at all and be able to root it and unlock the bootloader etc so that you can end up using magisk and also xposed?
or do you need to buy a special version of the s20 and port it to verizon somehow?
if there is a special variant of the s20 that i can get and use on verizon, can anyone give me the exact model number and then an idea of where/how to get it?
unfortunately i am stuck with verizon as i'm on a plan with family members where i am the head of the account so getting rid of verizon really isnt a possibility for me.
i just want to get a really good 5g phone because there is 5g where i live. but i want to root it and have all of the tools i have with my current phone which is an LG v20 - i love the v20 but its getting old obviously and slow and its driving me crazy with how slow and laggy it feels.
i appreciate any help on this topic!
ok so i'm bumping this
can i buy an s20 ultra from amazon that says unlocked
https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Unlocked-Fingerprint-Recognition-Long-Lasting/dp/B082XYGR2C/
something like this that says unlocked?
would i be able to root this and use it on verizon?
i just dont want to spend that kind of money on a phone and not even be able to root it and unlock the bootloader and not be able to put TWRP and magisk and xposed and etc
unlocked means carrier unlocked as for the bootloader https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/sampwnd-usa-model-bl-unlock-info-u-u1-w.4201689/
