Vibration Problem - One (M8) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I've an HTC One M8. Vibration does not work. All the "vibration" settings are still on. I'm running Viper.
Help? Anyone else having a similar problem?

I seem to be having the opposite problem with vibration settings on the M8 GPE. I've gone through the device and app settings and can't seem to find a way to stop the vibrating alert in notifications. Each time I get an email or other notification the vibrate happens. How do I turn this feature off??

I've got the exact same problem! I'm on Android Revolution 11.1 but I'm guessing my Firmware isn't updated? although when I check, i'm on 2.22.401.5 with baseband 1.16

Go to your phone keypad and type in *#*#3424#*#*. This will bring you into diagnostic mode, where you can check vibration. If it doesn't work here it's likely a hardware problem.

I know this is old, but I had this issue and found a fix - it appears that a connection was loose. Smacking the phone on my palm would sometimes get the vibration to work once or twice. But, I used the HTC Help diagnostic to keep it vibrating, and I smacked the phone volume buttons-side down until I felt it vibrate, then I smacked it a few times after that in-between vibrations. If I only did it once, I could feel the vibration get weaker the 2nd time, and then stop as if something came loose again. But, smacking between vibrations seems to have locked it back in (at least for now).

Enable Vibrate on Call Connect in HTC Desire?

Hi,
I have recently updated my desire to 1.21.405 and now cannot find anywhere function to vibrate once my call connects. I really loved this feature but Im so confused that Im not pretty sure if Desire with old ROM had it.
I have some other HTC phones and all WM based do have such function.
Im 90% positive that my Desire had it as well but it would be really strange if it was removed with new ROM.
Can anyone help me and tell definetly if HTC Desire ever had such function?
if so - how can I enable it???
When the screen is on (aka you dont have the phone near to your ear) the phone vibrates on call connect.

OMG! Yes!
Thanks. I KNEW that I had this feature at Desire .
Wondering now - is it possible to turn it on/off?
is it possible to turn it on unconditionally? to vibrate even when screen is turned off? Maybe You can recomend eg. additional program to do this?
Greetings!

haptic feedback

hi,
I recently turned off haptic feed back, and I am now having a issue with turning it back on.
Turning haptic feedback in the Sounds and Display options worked fine, but when I added the option to enable "vibrate when typing" in the Keyboard Input options, they did not.
Now when I type, I don't get any vibration, I only get vibration from the soft key buttons at the bottom of my EVO.
Anyone have this issue? i did try a recovery and reset already.
Anyone have suggestions?
hmmm, not sure if it will work, but try calibrating in the keyboard menu. If that doesn't work possibly reset to factory calibration?
Im just guessing if you cant tell
Yeah, sadly I did that, no luck.
I hear the vibration motor making a tiny click sound at best, like the software just isn't pushing it.
Otherwise the vibration works fine when making a call, on silent, using the soft buttons.
Weird..some sort of software issue i guess.
I assume it feels completely dead, like when you turn it off the 4 main buttons? Mine is not very powerful but I can still feel some vibration.
well oddly, the 4 main buttons, while it's "smooth and subtle" you do feel the vibration no problem.
but if you do texting or dial a number, sometimes you feel it, its on and off and weak at best..I thought at first it was the vibration from the speaker really.
Maybe mine is dying? but it vibrates fairly hard when you power on or get a text.
ehh, I don't know. I think it may be normal, however I have never used your phone. If it is not completely dead, it might be normal. I get it where when I start typing fast, it does not always feel like it vibrates, and sometimes I get a tick noise as you mentioned. Nonetheless, if it bothers you then you may want to take it to where you bought it or try to compare with one in store?
Sorry I can't help more

Settings - Sound - Vibrate (When calls & notification ) - Disable that and it should be fine. Or doesn't that help ?
I have already done the settings in sound, still it does not help.

Tried putting it on "No-Sound" mode ? (Add Sound Widget, there are 3 modes : Sound, Vibrate, No Sound)
That last one should disable everything if I'm correct ?
Uncheck pocket mode
Settings > sound> pocket mode (Uncheck it)

I have the same problem here. I don't think turning the pocket mode off is the right fix. It vibrates even I leave it on the table.
Yeah same for me the damn vibration woke me up as its really loud. I have pocket mode enabled though, isnt it only supposed to put the volume up? Besides my phone was laying on a table with the sensor unblocked

same problem .. i have turned off all vibrating option and still it vibrate when message and call comes
Vibrate Issues - Could be a Common Problem with Android
I think this is a common problem with Android phones as this happens not only on my EVO 3D but also on a brand new Sony Xperia P. Even restarting the phone after changing/toggling between vibrate on and off between restarts does not help. Despite checking all settings and turning off, when any notification or an incoming call or anything happens, the phone vibrates!
I have checked all applications' settings too because some settings are there for vibrate for notifications. IMO chat app, etc and even in messaging I have vibrate turned off under settings for notifications and STILL the phone vibrates! This IS an ISSUE and I don't see why Android developers:highfive: or even Mobile Company QA personnel:cyclops: have not bothered to check this BASIC issue and Resolve it over so long! Could be the cause of why Android Battery life sucks so much or an inherited bug! Tried this even on a HTC Explorer.
From what I've read around there is NO way to disable all vibrations in non-rooted android phones! Kinda stupid if you ask me. For a rooted phone you have to download an app like either Spare Parts and disable vibration via that. Why they don't have the option to globally disable all vibration as default settings on Android beats me?! You can turn off vibration under settings for notifications and anything but you WILL still get vibrate despite turning all vibrate settings OFF! They HAVE to rectify this nonsense! Basic functionality and they can't even get that right!

Vibrate mode not working

I feel like I have to be missing something dumb here. I can't get the G3 to be in vibrate mode and vibrate when I get a text or call. When I get the call the screen just lights up to the caller screen. It doesn't even vibrate when I have the ringer on. Under settings -> Sound, I have Silent mode set to vibrate then the Ringtone with vibration checkbox goes grey. This is what my sound settings are in the screenshot. What am I missing?

your not the only one i have missed quiet a few calls because this phone isnt vibrating
Good to know you are also having this issue. I just got it on Friday and I haven't dropped it. The phone won't even vibrate when I switch it into vibrate mode like my S3 did. It vibrates when I turn the phone off so I know that it can vibrate. It has to be a setting that we are missing. I am trying to stay away from a hard reset of the phone.
Settings-sound and click Vibrate. Turn strength up. I found it rather weak. So changed Vibration type to a loner ong and boosted strength some. Helps
idk. no problems on my side

It's not that. I already had that set to Vibrate. I get vibration from other apps like Facebook when I have a notification. I checked the default texting app and it's set to vibrate always.

What are your settings under sound? Could you send a screenshot?
Ok, now it seems to be working. I restarted the phone and it went through the optimizing apps screen. I wonder if it was having issues still after I tried switching to ART runtime. I switched it back to Dalvik yesterday but it maybe didn't optimize everything.
I've been having the same issue. It fixes itself whenever I restart but keeps coming back. I have the at&t version in case that makes a difference.

Having same issue, on rooted Verizon. That option stays grayed out...anyone find the answer to this?
I just updated to lollipop and I'm having the same issue. I can't get my texts or emails to vibrate at all. Picture in the first post is accurate for me. Vibrate mode active and notification and touch sliders are greyed out.

yup, that's the fix I also found for this problem. Restarting fixes it.
A new official update popped up two days ago and the vibration stopped working after it was installed. I tried rebooting, I even did factory reset, but still not working. Help?

Is anyone else getting "phantom" vibration?

my T-mobile galaxy s20 just start vibrating randomly without showing any notifications. Vibration pattern is also not normal. I use long continuous buzz for my notifications but whenever "phantom" vibration happens, it vibrates with few short buzz. I Googled it up, and didn't see anything related to galaxy s20. Just installed an app called nice catch from http://apps.samsung.com/appquery/appDetail.as?appId=com.samsung.android.app.goodcatch
It happened one time after I installed the app. Even that app didn't log the "phantom" vibration.
I am wondering am I the only one having this issue?
I'm not sure this would help, but i haven't experience this yet ... https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.globaleffect.notiplus&hl=en_US this is nice to have incase of missing notifications. Sometimes a phatom virbate could be a voicemail or something else.
Hi, I have a little problem
My bottom speaker doesn't work, no vibration and the microphone doesn't work but when I camera video it works ..
The last problem is hard to try, like if it's off, this sign appears when I load it.
