Hi,
I have recently updated my desire to 1.21.405 and now cannot find anywhere function to vibrate once my call connects. I really loved this feature but Im so confused that Im not pretty sure if Desire with old ROM had it.
I have some other HTC phones and all WM based do have such function.
Im 90% positive that my Desire had it as well but it would be really strange if it was removed with new ROM.
Can anyone help me and tell definetly if HTC Desire ever had such function?
if so - how can I enable it???
When the screen is on (aka you dont have the phone near to your ear) the phone vibrates on call connect.

OMG! Yes!
Thanks. I KNEW that I had this feature at Desire .
Wondering now - is it possible to turn it on/off?
is it possible to turn it on unconditionally? to vibrate even when screen is turned off? Maybe You can recomend eg. additional program to do this?
Greetings!

I am getting very interested in switching my 3gs (and hero) to this beauty but I need to know if the screen/ buttons works as I hope. Does the desire stay locked during a call if you use a bluetooth headset?
I found this very annoying on my hero that I constantly hung up on people while on a call..
Is there anyone lucky out there who knows?
If you are using the secure lock with 'password' it stays locked.
If you are using only the keylock, it does not stay locked.
BUT...
The phone has a proximity detector which is enabled during calls and turns the screen off _before_ anything touches it, so there shouldn't be a problem.
Ok great news. Are you anledning to hang up With Any of the hardware buttons?
Non comprehende
Oops haha iPhone dont like me writing english.. What i meant was are you able to hang up with hardware buttons during bt Call? With My hero i believe the trackball could hang up a Call. Then again hero has answer/reject buttons but desire dont. Thanks alot for info!
Hi,
There's a feature on the HTC Desire and maybe other Android phones that flashes the screen when a call is connecting/connected; This for me is a nuisance, as for example, I want to give a mis-call to someone, by the time I find where the 'end call' button is they already holded it lol, as the screen constantly flashes. So...I was wondering if anyone knows how to disable this or atleast tweak it and share your tricks.
Much Appreciated.

Guys, does anyone knows how to turn OFF vibrations on HTC Desire?
Specially during VoIP call it vibrates every minute and that is killing my ear... I know I can use another app for VoIP, but the build-in is much better for me.
Tried to search here, on google, but no way baby :/
the best way would be to go inside the phone and throw out the vibrator... I dont like it..
any idea? somethink in ROM / kernel? or some hack ?
THX
Stupid question, but have you tried settings - call settings - vibrate every 45 seconds?
it doue not vibrate in standard call, only VoIP;

The screen doesn't wake when you get a message only when you get a phone call, there may be an application or someone could make a modification to allow this

thanks for your reply.
i am wondering is that only for htc one x or only for htc or only for android os?
There is a cool paid app called pops which will light the screen when a text, email, facebook, or twatter message comes though

From what I have experienced it is seen throughout the Android OS, but as I said a modification could exist or an application on the play store
You can also try using Go SMS, there's an option for msg pop up and direct reply. I used to like it on my Desire Z, but the stock messaging app is just so nice xD
Rocking the Lee on my HTC One X
Use Sms Popup - does exactly what iphone does =] (and can even set a mode to make the message pop up private so that the name/message doesnt appear straight away). Plus you can still use the stock messaging app.
If you only want the screen to light up, Tasker can do this. Tasker in combination with Secure Settings (which you can find here on XDA)

I know this isn,t going to help you but my HOX does this on the standard unrooted 1.28 ROM for some reason. The funny thing is that it also started doing this for my emails a week ago without me changing anything! Also I hate this feature and wanted it to go back to how it should behave as standard but I haven' t been able to turn it off.

I've an HTC One M8. Vibration does not work. All the "vibration" settings are still on. I'm running Viper.
Help? Anyone else having a similar problem?
I seem to be having the opposite problem with vibration settings on the M8 GPE. I've gone through the device and app settings and can't seem to find a way to stop the vibrating alert in notifications. Each time I get an email or other notification the vibrate happens. How do I turn this feature off??

I've got the exact same problem! I'm on Android Revolution 11.1 but I'm guessing my Firmware isn't updated? although when I check, i'm on 2.22.401.5 with baseband 1.16
Go to your phone keypad and type in *#*#3424#*#*. This will bring you into diagnostic mode, where you can check vibration. If it doesn't work here it's likely a hardware problem.
I know this is old, but I had this issue and found a fix - it appears that a connection was loose. Smacking the phone on my palm would sometimes get the vibration to work once or twice. But, I used the HTC Help diagnostic to keep it vibrating, and I smacked the phone volume buttons-side down until I felt it vibrate, then I smacked it a few times after that in-between vibrations. If I only did it once, I could feel the vibration get weaker the 2nd time, and then stop as if something came loose again. But, smacking between vibrations seems to have locked it back in (at least for now).
