Hi there! You can try the CF Autoroot from this link - http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-tab-s/development/root-cf-autoroot-t800-t2802916.
Although OP stated for T800, few people have already confirmed it works on T805. Good luck!
* By the way, app can be installed on the external SD card. No need to use folder mount.
How to root T805, 5.0.2, BOD3?

It is possible to root the device GT-5200 (3G+wifi)?
Thanks.
Don't know if you still need to know the answer.
I'll just write a short answer, so anybody reading this thread can find the right page:

Thanks for the short links.
I'm appending a question to update the topic, as it refers to 6-months ago: is any TWRP/CWM proposed version compatible with nowadays 4.2.2 Firmwares ?
Thanks again

My tab won't got any updates and custom OSs aren't fits me, so I with to "create" my personal OS . Who has any experience with such things? Perhaps this isn't right topic, so please, guide me. Thanks in advance.

I just picked up this tablet. Should I take all of the OTA updates beore I attempt to root? Based on what I have read, it seems like I should, but I wanted to check before I take the updates. I am currently on JB v4.4.2. Thanks for your help.

It is not required to install all the updates before you root but if you would like to have the latest version then update first. If you plan to install a custom ROM later then no need for updating to the latest version.

Better idea, identify the apps that you don't want and ...
In application Manager, uninstall the updates and then disable them.

Thanky you for replying bulbous, but unfortunatelly your solutions is not of much help. In fact I was going to do what you told me through rom toolbox lite, but I still need root access. My intention though is to root my device and delate those crappy sMzung apps that i don't need and that only occupy space on my device, which is just 16 gb.
Do you or anybody have a very straightforward answer to what I asked at the beginning?
Thank you

Tablet restarts when trying to install apps
I followed the instructions given, but now when ever I attempt to install an app my tablet will restart itself, which prevents installation.
I'm new to rooting so I'm not sure what to do. Any sort of help will be appreciated.
I should mention I tried to use the autorootp600mj4.tar.md5 to root but when I restarted my device the supersu was there but it said I wasn't rooted, so I used CF-Auto-Root-lt03wifi-lt03wifixx-smp600.tar.md5 instead and it fixed the problem with supersu, but now I can't install anything please help.
Android 4.4.2
Hey there, I recently picked up a Galaxy Note Tab 2014 Edition and I tried rooting it, but the tablet is updated to the new software.
It is telling me that they can't find an SU Binary.
I would have to manually put one in.
Have you guys had this problem occur before?
If so, what course of action should I take.
I know this thread is a little dated, but if you get back to me that'll be very much appreciated!

Could you please check if you have really the same Firmware I have?:
Android version: 4.4.2
Kernel version:
3.4.39-4357843
[email protected] #1
Wed Mar 4 16:47:00 KST 2015
Build number:
KOT 49H .P600XXUDOC1
SE for Android status:
SEPF SM-P600_ 4.4_2_0046
Wed Jun 24 15:49:37 2015
I cannot get it working.
I am following the instructions in this link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-10-2014/development/root-cf-auto-root-t2905495
and I am using this the file linked there:
CF-Auto-Root-lt03wifi-lt03wifixx-smp600.zip
The process seems to go fine and I do not see errors, but I have no root privileges and SuperSu is not installed.
If I try to install SuperSU from Google Play, I get an error message saying Google Play has encountered a problem.
Requests for root privileges (for example from Root Checker or SDFix) wait quite some time for a reply and then timeout.
Before that I had tried with the file p600Autoroot.7z linked from
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2490805
The installation behaviour looked the same, in that case both RootChecker and SDFix were bailing out immediately with a failure in the request for root privileges.
Which file have you been flashing with Odin?
I have the feeling some step (but not all) of the rooting process are incomplete, probably due to some change in the Kernel.
Any suggestion?
Thanks for the help.

Managed to root P600 with FW P600XXUDOC1
I finally managed:
After having installed with odin
autorootp600mj4.tar.md5
I had to manually install SuperSU-v2.48 from TWRP.
Previous versions of SuperSU did not install, even if there were no errors (also TWRP did not show any error).
Among the many instructions I tried out, the one that worked and gave me the links to the right files is this one (sorry, in German):

I made it with the G532M using a tutorial that I found here. The only thing is that you need to do a downgrade in order to root and my phone eventually "notice" (I don't know hoy to express it, sorry) that it have a outdated firmware and I have to flash the latest firmware with smart switch.
I can't put links but search for "[ROOT] Samsung Galaxy J2 Prime G532F, G532M, G532G, SuperSU Root SM-G532F/M/G". You have to download the firmware for somewhere else because the links are down, but the root works. Also, there is the same method in various videos on youtube. I recommend to find the firmware with the date that support the root, I don't remember the date.
In this moment I have my phone without root but I found a method that needs to mess with the core linux system so until I learn some linux skills I'm going to keep the original firmware.

I want very much to upgrade the unit from KitKat 4.4.2 up to at least Lollipop or Marshmallow, so I am able to use several Apps. that are not compatible with KitKat.
Can someone provide me a link for the proper custom ROM?
