Hello All.
This is my first posting.
Is there a wp8 rom (look alike) for a samsung galaxy s 4 I9505.
Indeed I am newbie to custom roms but have been playing the last couple of months.
If someone would be kind enough to point me in the right direction to a rom that matches WP8 as close as possible, I would be very grateful
Background:
I have searched the forum and there are some many different roms too choose from.
Tried Cyangomod - that is pretty great but not what I was looking for.
Have since upgraded my phone to KitKat,and I am very happy with it.
Purchased and tried many metro launchers, but again, they are not what I am looking for.
Thanks

As far as a WP8 ROM, that doesn't exist. You can browse the Play Store though for WP8 launchers... that's the best you'll be able to find.
Wow surprised

Thanks for the reply lordcheeto03 - most appreciated.
I currently am running a launcher but launcherss are not what I am looking for, ideally I would like a port of wp8, but I know that hasn't been done.
Just so I understand correctly: There are no custom ROMs that mimic wp8?

I am going to flash to a new rom. Either paranoid or Pacs. Unless you or anyone else has a recommendation - I am open to anything new

Since first joining Xda and asking for a possible WP8 rom for my SGS4, I have been on a mini journey of exploration. and I would like to conclude this thread, in case someone else has the same request as mine. I would like to say - Drop WP8 as quick a you can and climb on bord the Android band wagon. The roms available far surpass anything you could possible want.
I have tried a frew now, and have decided to stick with Phoepnix with a Miui loader and the themes are especially fun and fresh .
Thank you XDA

I have downloaded and installed the new 4.2 camera app on my GNex. My question is sort of simple. Where does one find instructions on how to use it? In particular, I am looking for documentation on the new "sphere" feature.

Wait until it is officially released and you will get documents on how to use it.

With all due respect, I don't want to wait. I am looking to this community to suggest places that Google or other knowledgeable users might have put some info on how the app works.

If the info is not yet available.... it's not yet available. You have to wait like the rest of us.

Are you saying that you know the information is not yet available? That is helpful. Otherwise saying "if it is not available then it is not available" is an unhelpful tautology.
I think that the 4.2 camera app is available on a few of the new tablets that just got announced. It is not unreasonable to ask if there is any info on usage or features.

So there should be documentation on something that doesn't officially exist yet? Ok.

No one cares what you want. I want a million dollars right now tax free. Is that going to happen? Hell no.
As for your "situation", you can just learn it yourself by messing around with all the options. It's not likes it's going to kill YOU if YOU do the legwork YOURSELF instead of asking us to do the work for you.

I really don't understand why you guys are all dumping on me. I asked a simple question and a link or quick suggestion would have sufficed. I clearly am capable of doing my own legwork or I would not be running a custom ROM on an unlocked phone and finding and installing an unreleased app.
I love baby pandas.

It's because of 1) your question and 2) your responses.
You're asking if anyone has a link to help about something that isn't released. When you were told there isn't such a thing yet, you sounded like a whinny little kid and said "no, I don't want to. Do it for me". How else do you think rue XDA community (who is known for not searching and asking to be spoonfed as well as dumping on said people) is going to respond?

Because you are wanting bleeding edge unreleased software. This comes at a price and that price is you are part of the first ones using it, so of course there is no documentation. It essentially is a beta, it isn't even promised to work let alone have a users guide for it yet. Maybe in a couple months someone will write a guide telling you what the buttons do.
I tried to help inform you but your general rudeness and 'whining' is making me not want to bother and apparently is having the same effect on others that are normally very helpful users here.

Have you tried it?? It's pretty self explanatory, what are your questions? Also, Google is not well known for documenting their features.
Has anybody tried searching on Google ?
Hey guys,
My missus just ordered one of these phones and its good to see this section of the forums being active, which kinda is causing my dilemma - which rom to install on her phone? I know this question probably gets asked alot and it comes down to personal preference, but I will have limited time to play with her new toy, so testing out a few roms is out of the question. I would like a stock-based rom thats stable and fast and suitable for everyday use - we all hate being asked/yelled at 'why cant this just work' .
Something like Omega for sgs3 or androwook for tf201 tablet, which are both great, stock based roms that add cool extras to the stock experience.
Thanks for your time and suggestions are greaty appreciated.

You don't need to, actually. Stock rom is just already what you want. Still, might look for extra features, though.
This ROM looks absolutely fantastic. Any developers have insight as to how we can get this working on our Verizon HTC One's?
Android Revolution HD
I've done some reading and tried this Sense-to-Sense porting guide with no luck.
Thoughts? Ideas? Halp?
I'm no expert but we'll likely see more ports once 4.3 comes out for us.
Does he have a ROM for the one? Need to look at his github

He has a ROM for the One but its for the GSM version. I asked him if he's going to port to Verizon and he said NO. Sad...=(
Well like cm I'm sure you can port it over. Just ask some devs on this forum to get you started. @Flyhalf205 or somebody like him can help I'm sure

My rom uses the exact same base. Not saying it's exactly the same however.
But what exactly is it about the rom that interests you?
Is there something it claims to offer that the roms we already have don't?
Just trying to understand all this desire to port other roms that have the same base as existing roms already ported and available.
What features makes it different or more desirable?
Maybe some insight may help others to understand and therefor justify why any Dev would port something from another Dev, when he has done the work already for his own port/rom.
Trying to understand what the draw is, that's all.
Is it the more well known "name" on it?
Go ask the creator of the ROM for permission to port and I will see about porting it over if I get the time.

If you look at OP Post #1 here is the sharing policy, I've already messaged mike already to inform him... If you could pull this off FlyHalf that would be AWESOME. I have friends using this ROM and they totally swear by it (full GPU UI rendering, all the underhood tweaks make this rom quick, CPU governor performance).
This forum is about sharing. If you want to use any part of my work, please feel free to do it but remember about some simple rules:
Inform me about using my work by sending me a message. You don’t need my permission, just inform me.
Include link to my thread from where you took particular files.
Give proper credits for what you used.
When it comes to using my ROM as a base you are free to do it only if I don't have "Stock ROMs" thread available for particular device. If such thread exists, you are
obligated to take ROMs from there instead. These threads with "Stock ROMs" are usually updated within 24 hours from the moment when I release my custom ROM.
Sharing is one thing, but please respect some areas of my work like:
ROM name - "Android Revolution HD", "Android Revolution", "Revo HD", "AR HD" etc.
Graphics used in my threads, especially head-banners designed exclusivity for me.
Other parts of my work that are not supposed to be used by others without proper permission.
Reguardless if he lets me. I will still port it to myself. May even work with him to get Verizon support in his main thread. Would be best solution since he does have sprint support. I am making no promises I can get this done! But I will try
I have a Verizon HTC One and would love to be able to use this ROM! There isnt very many roms for the Verizon version being as it came out so late im guessing.

Have you tried any that we do have? We've got pretty solid options for both Sense and AOSP ROMs.

I actually did this, just to see what all the hoopla was about.
It's essentially a stock rom with Sense 5 toolbox, not much point in it really. (my 2 cents)
What feature is it you are looking for that's not currently available to us on Vzw? Just curious.
Is it the GPU rendering? Because that's the only thing that really stands out... to me anyway.

Okay, good to know we'r not missing out on too much. Unfortunately, its not like we can test out that ROM for ourselves since its on the GSM version so its hard to really compare it to the roms that are offered for Verizon.
Forgive me if this has been asked a before, but I just pulled the trigger on the Virgin Mobile version of the Galaxy S3. I had been reading about the wonderful CyanogenMods that are avail, but now I think they were talking about the internation version of the phone?
I need an upgrade from my old LG Optimus V, and will be VERY disappointed if I can't CM it! WIll I be able to mod this new phone with a nifty CM after it arrives? Maybe with a Sprint CM...??

Head over to Android Forums, there is a forum specifically for rooted VM users that will give you a lot more answers. We use the Sprint ROM's, but you have to know what you are doing. CM11 runs perfectly for me, it is one of my favorite ROM's, along with CyanFox, but again, you have to know how to modify a couple of things (it's easy, don't worry) in order to flash the Sprint ROM's properly. Once you know how, the XDA forums for Sprint SGS3 are a great resource for finding other ROM's to flash.

Whew! Okay, sounds like I'm going to be fine... (I've been flashing CM ROMs on the Optimus V for, like, 3 years...so I would assume I wouldn't be too baffled by what's required to get the S3 CM'd... If there are clear instructions, I should be smilin' by next week! :fingers-crossed:

Hey everyone. So I haven't really done much since I got my N4 besides root it. But I did recently flash a ROM (Alliance). It is the best ROM to me. So I gave it ago after being stock for so long. Anyway Alliance ROM has been making frustrated because there is always something I can't read when using their theme manager. So I want to see what else is out there. A lot of the ROM look like they haven't been updated a lot. But I am open to suggestions. What do you guys suggest? What are you running?

2 different people with the exact same phones can have different user experiences (likes/dislikes) about the same rom. Its best to make a back up and flash what appeals to you. That question is kind of frowned upon, as honest as it is. Id check and read the OPs and check the most recent comments in that roms thread to get an idea of whats being posted and does it suggest a lot of people are having issues or most of the people are happy.
I need more coffee. Excuse me would ya.
