I have few LG G3 phones.
I tried to flash some hebrew firmware, that working for other people but not to me.
The thing is this firmware contains a lot of countries. like the csc in samsung devices. (I openned the firmware and saw it inside the cust.bin)
It seems like only phones bought from the official importer, can use this firmware, but other phones stuck on the original region after the flash.
Is there any code in the dielar can change the region?
I know in samsung there is *272 or some apps can do that, but i can't find any thing like that for LG Phones.
Thanks.
AFAIK LG's server recognize your phone firmware by its IMEI. With others LG's phone I used a method the emulate LG's server to flash firmware from another region.

The flash i'ts not the issue.
The same file on other phone work fine, but because my phone is not from in israel after the flash it stay on different region.
Did you try to edit build.prop ?
Find this line and edit the country code.
ro.build.target_country=XX
XX=Country code
From my experience it's working on LG's phones, but I don't know if it will work on the G3, so do it on your own risk.

Didn't work.
Any way i need solution without root, must be some service code.
Actually it's not a few phones, more like few handred.. and root is not an option.
Thanks anyway.

Hi, I just got a LG G7. I'm from Italy and my G7 is TIM branded. So, I flashed a brandless firmware, but that prevents me from getting OTA upates. I can't even update with LG Bridge because my IMEI is for a TIM branded product. I have to use LG UP to manually update the phone, or flash TIM firmware again to get OTAs.
TIM Italy's G7 have an IMEI like like "355775092x", while brandless G7s have "3557750904x". Is there something wrong if I change my IMEI to 3557750904x and use random numbers after "x" to get updates like everyone? Would it even work?

Changing IMEI is illegal and the servers from LG know that the IMEI doesn't match the firmware. Thats why you can't update. Your choices are to continue updating with LGUP or go back to your firmware

It's not illegal in all countries. I wonder if I could use an IMEI that can receive updates without using LGUP isntead, but also without risking that my device is blocked or something.
I also don't understand why LG decided to block updates to people with IMEIs like mine. These devices contains apps from my carrier and some of them replaces what LG stock apps do. So, I wouldn't block someone trying to get LG apps and remove the carrier ones... whatever.

proof of your statement?
don't know where you live but in italy is not illegal at all. Probably the same is in all europe.
how do you plan to change it? with root?
back to stock brand firmware or flash to the last full updated firmware

I picked up an A50 from Koodo, (Canadian carrier) on a sweet deal, model SM-A505W. I thought since they are all Exynos chipsets (vs Qualcomm) it would be bootloader unlockable. Sadly, in bootloader mode I see no option to unlock the bootloader so I assume that is a no go unless I misunderstand. Yes, I went into developer options and set the OEM Unlock option.
It's been a while since I've had a Samsung (S3 I think was my last one?), is there any way to convert between models using Odin and the firmware for another region? Or is this beast dead and I should send it back or sell it off?
Thanks
You can get to unlock bootload screen after its fully off and use combination "VolumeDown+Power+VolumeUp". To get it in the downloadable mode use VolumeUp+Power. The real issue is that I can't find firmware SM-A505W (Canadian) anywhere. It is not even listed in Samsung's firmware website.
Does anyone know where to get it or any other alternatives?

I know I'm late, but would you happen to know where I can find the TWRP file for this model? I am having a very difficult time finding it and would like to root my A50.

Many members have tried this with Canadian A505W variant without success. I can't get it to show unlock bootloader option.
EDIT: after several attempts, I did finally get the bootloader unlock menu.

I know this is an old thread and perhaps you have found firmware files by now but in case you haven't, I found them here for example a Videotron variant.
AT&T LG G8 - Want to flash stock firmware, possible? Trying to use it on Google FI and it seems hotpot and many other features aren't working. Phione is paid in full and unlocked. Factory firmware currently.
I want to flash my phone
So you're trying to flash stock on top of stock?
The request is to see if you can flash a bare LG unlocked ROM that comes with factory unlocked phones onto a phone that came with a stock AT&T ROM. The Att phone has now been carrier unlocked, is used on a different network, so the Att specific apps that replaced stock apps no longer work.
I was also wondering if I could do this with my Tmobile G8; unlock the phone, then flash the unlocked LG OS instead of the Tmobile version. My goal is debloat, and to be able to have the original Android hotspot app. Not to mention get rid of that terrible pink, loud, annoying carrier startup splash.
Also, I wonder if security updates would come faster when strait from LG instead of the carrier.

Let me know if you find a debloated is for a T-Mobile g8
Has anyone figured out any method that actually works for just flashing firmware to the g8?
Unlike Samsung phones where you can flash other firmwares via ODIN I don't think this phone has that ability. If you got to the ROM/Development section there are threads where people posted firmwares but no instructions on how to flash.

We can actually cross flash, but we need a modified lg dll to fool lgup into letting us flash any firmware.
I have tried just about everything I can think of to get this thing to flash. I saw some people using lgup v1.15 via the command line but that didn't work either.

Hello,
I've tried to flash another firmware on an AT&T LM-G820UM10i with LGUP and a firmware found on lg-firmware.
The LGUP restarted the phone in Firmware update mode, then on LGUP, I got an error
Error 0x5319, Not allow to change the device.(ATT_US->OPEN_CA)
So I've unplugged and reboot the phone. Still working.

that just means one of the unit was not activated on Sprint (usually once activated Chameleon then kicks in and adds all the sprint stuff or boost depending on the MVNO)
I have all the necessary data and the LG DLL in the LGUP folder to put any ROM released, I have an LG G8 from AT&T, I am not within the United States but I am afraid that by modifying the ROM (KDZ) they will not work for me some things like 4G or some functions inside the phone, to specify live in Latin America, if someone helps me pass the LGUP data through Google Drive

Because the G8 and all newer LG phones have security measures to prevent cross flashing.
Many bloatware apps can be Disabled in App Info Settings. The rest can be removed with ADB shell "pm uninstall". Google it.
It's best to never ever buy carrier devices. There's a reason they're the ones sold with a discount :cyclops:

The Sprint LG g8 is recognized by lgup when it's on leaked beta. It's possible they haven't built in security measures yet, I'm going to try cross flashing
would just want to know by any chance if flashing another rom pr rooting the device will remove the network lock of my carrier?
Thank you
I need a method to unlock the device, tried a lot of paid services already, most of them dont have an unlock code yet for my device and some sent me a wrong unlock code

Hi
I made a stupid mistake with my G988B, its were not working well, so I decided install a stock rom, but downloaded and installed o last version of software from another country (G988BXXS2ATD5, XEF ) whit Security Level Patch of may 1, 20.
After installed new stock rom, my phone ask for Network Unlock Code.
When realized of my mistake, tried reinstall orignal version of firmware (G988BXXU1ATCT, PGU) but nothing work for me. I have tried to flash with Odin, but always, process stop in "flashing vbmeta.img."
I have read a lot tread trying figure out my problem like: https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s20/how-to/howto-root-s20-series-upgrade-firmware-t4079353/post82220417#post82220417
There is a way to come back original stock rom and then trying unlock network?
Could this process work in my case without damaging my phone?
Thanks.

Thanks por your answer, but I did it.
It doesnt work.
Samkey is the only way to unlock a Samsung phone other than getting the network unlock code from the network or third party. You must know what you are doing. Google the process. If that doesn't work then there is an issue here that needs further investigation. Also ensure your active csc code is the one that was originally on the phone as well as stock rom. Sam key can be used to change csc as well.
Good luck

Thanks mikey_sk,
My problem is that both the csc code and the stock rom are not the original ones. Therefore I am looking for a guide to help me how to get back to the stock rom.
I have read that the problem is, the security patch that I installed as it is newer than the one I am trying to reinstall. I will keep trying.
I understand that so far there is no way to go back from binary 2 to binary 1.
Any help is appreciated.

Ok,
Thanks.
No more questions.
You can always use the sim slot 2, it is usually not locked.
I suggest you change the csc to a stock one using Sam key. Make sure you enable USB debugging in developer settings otherwise Sam key won't work. After that dowload the most recent stock rom for that device from sammobile and flash in ODIN but DO NOT use HOME_CSC so it can do a full wipe and rebuild the firmware. As an added measure as soon as installed go into recovery and do a full wipe. If network is still locked try unlocking it with samkey

Unfortunately for it, you mentioned only sim1 is blocked and you still can use sim2.
This is not network lock but rather imei blacklist.
The only way to fix this is to pay your telco bills from where you purchased the phone. If it's a used phone, I would get a refund. There is no roms you can use that can fix it as it's blacklisted from the telcos.
There is only 2 reasons it is locked.
1. You didn't pay your installment bills.
2. The phone is reported as stolen.
If you purchased a used phone, get a refund.
I've been messing around with few firmwares out there but none are unbranded, so I'm here asking for a solution to get rid of annoying unnecesary bloatware, no rooting if it's possible. Maybe someone already have found a good unbranded firmware that I can use to flash my A52s? Thanks.
Samsung nowadays uses multi CSC packs (OMC), so it's most likely you've been flashing the same firmware over and over. You need to de-brand your phone by changing your CSC, you can use SamFw since it doesn't requires root and will not blow your warranty bit

Stuck in Latinamerica, and my CSC code is OWO, I believe that ain't multi, tried the UUSD code on Samsung and Google phone apps but not working. I checked every CSC so I don't end up flashing unnecesarily. I'm gonna flash some nordic firm that I read is unbranded, wish me luck, hope I don't end up with a brick.

Flashing the firmware for your country's CSC alone is not enough, as I said you need a tool like SamFw to change the sales code set in the efs partition of your phone (without it, root would be required to modify those files).
