please help me...
My Z1C can not shutdown.. when i tried to power off .. it goes off but boot again in Sony logo (bootloop). If I want to power off the sony logo bootloop, i have to hardreset.
When I power on. it boot like normal,
.the phone is work.
but when i tried to power off. it always stuck in sony logo.
the problem show up when I update to kitkat 14.4.A.0.108. GenericDE an rooted via newroot.
I already tried to fix it with. flashtool, PC companion dan SEUS. the problem still exist.
rollback firmware again with14.3.A.0.769 with flashtool, but the problem still there .
Hard to tell. Are you sure it is not hardware related? Do you have an unlocked bootloader?

When you use flashtool to flash .ftf, are you sure you selected to clean and wipe all things?
Not sure but I guess your problem should be the recovery in newroot. Thought the root works but that recovery doesn't compatible with .108 and may cause reboot. But it's wired you can't restore the recovery even with flashtool?

Try my step 13 and 14.
thanks for your reply. but yes When i use flashtool to flash .ftf, i'm sure selected to clean and wipe all.
i already done. the recovery work normal. philz and TWRP too. try to boot to system via recovery both with philz and twrp, it work, but when i tried to power off. it stil goes to sony logo again. it still don't want to shutdown.
i don't know what to do right know. if i want to turn off. i have to hardreset the phone.

Then it might really related to hardware because there is nothing we can do now. Just let it to standby and don't turn if off when you sleep because the idle performance on s800 CPU is amazing, it won't drain you any battery over night.

When i long press hardware button for shutting down phone, screen just fades to black and phone restarts. I can only shut down phone with software app. Yesterday i flashed ICS .587 cause i had boot loop(i tried unsuccesfully to flash custom rom). I don't remember this problem happening before that.
Does anyone know how to fix this?
I assume that repairing phone with pc companion would do the trick, but is there any other solution?
Thanx in advance!
Come on people, nobody had this problem? :crying:
Flash a stock ftf, and report back, sounds like you've been cross flashing mods.

Full wipe and reinstall the ROM you are using. But get sure you do a full wipe!
If not, like already mentioned, go back to stock with a ftf file.

I was installing cyanogen mod 10 via CWM and everything went fine until I rebooted after installing. The phone would not reboot in to android.
The phone is stuck on a black screen with no power light showing - it vibrates if I try a hard reboot but that is the limit of what it's doing. When it was plugged in via USB the computer installed a couple of drivers but that's it as far as any form of life goes.
Does anyone have any ideas ?
Is your bootloader unlocked?
CM10 only works on unlocked bootloader.
If your bootloader is locked, use PCC or Update Service to repair your phone.

Do this -
1. Download stock ics ftf and prepare to flash it using Flashtool by androxyde
2. Press and hold the power and volume up combination until you get 3 vibrations
3. Now holding the volume down key, attach the usb cable and allow the flashing to get completed
4. Turn on your phone normally after the flashing and enjoy
Thanks.
I used the sony update service to get up and running again. As far as I was aware the bootloader was unlocked but presumably it was not which caused the problems ?

It happened because you have not unlocked your boot loader properly.

To turn it off completely, press and hold the volume up + power combination until you get 3 vibrations. At this point, your device will be completely turned off. Now in order to unlock your bootloader, kindly follow this guide - http://unlockbootloader.sonymobile.com/instructions
Good luck

It sometimes takes longer time to work. Did You get any sort of error on flashtool? Like error while flashing loader.sin? Also, does the phone get warm on the back side?

I have installed CyanogenMod 11 custom rom to my Xperia Arc S. After flashing boot.img through flashtool, device got shutdown. Till now everything was fine. But after this the tutorial said to start the phone and after the phone vibrates, start pressing the volume down button. I did the same. But after vibration, phone is not showing anything. It shows dim light on screen but its not showing either the logo nor its starting. The LED light on side turns to purple but nothing happens after that. I did this with every button but its not starting. Pls halp me out....
Thanks...

Tell more about this. How did you do it, what happened, what buttons did you press etc etc.
Yes. I have installed kernel for it via flashtool. Initially after doing this it was not going to recovery mode and also it was not getting connected to flashtool. But now it is getting connected to flashtool in fastboot mode. So tried to flashing with 10.2 version, it showing finished but again the same problem. Its not going to recovery mod.
as in, HOW did you flash the kernel exactly. Dont just say you used flashtool, how did you use it? What combination did you use to get into fastboot? Any errors in flashtool? How did you boot into recovery (I.e. which keys did you press) and does the LX kernel logo even appear on boot?

First check does that kernel has built in recovery...If nothing works,to get your phobe to work flash stock .ftf file with flashtool.
Do you have unlocked bootloader?
And try one more thing, when you turn on the phone start pressing volume down (-).)!

I think i have the same problem as OP.
I decided to try out LegacyXperia CM11 and installed it yesterday. It went well, but it is still kinda buggy so i decided to go back to besttt's Slim Bean. I copied rom files on SD card and went to flash kernel (darkanzuEOL). I flashed it through Flashtool like every other time and it went without errors so i proceeded to boot into recovery so i can flash the rom. This is where everything stopped working normally. After i power on the phone and press voldown to enter cwm it just gets stuck on cwm loading screen. If i dont try to get into recovery it just bootloops. I tried several kernels i have on my HDD and always the same result.
I'm downloading stock img to flash and see if that will help. will let you know what happens.
EDIT:
Stock img worked, now i'm back on slim. Only other thing i changed ( which i think is the cause) is i used original sony usb cabel instead of my Nexus 7's i used originaly
Hello everyone. This is my first post here but I have been lingering around XDA particularly in Xperia S android development forum.
Today, I'm having a problem with my XS that it won't start up after i've done a few things related to installing new ROM in it. I'm not sure if it's bricked or anything but here's the full story and please tell me after reading:
My phone is as follows:
Xperia S
Unlocked Bootloader
Rooted
1) I was in my Recovery Mode (not TWRP as I was using a 4.1.2 JB ROM before) with a ROM installed.
2) Wiped Cache
3) Install ROM from SD Card
4) Successfully went through the ROM install wizard and installed it perfectly. I could've just used the ROM as usual but suddenly..
5) Then I went into Settings, I decided to do a Factory Reset (With wiping the internal storage too) <--- I thought doing this would only reset the current recently installed ROM and not wipe the ROM itself)
6) It reboots and bring me to the Recovery Mode page
7) I chose reboot my phone now option
8) It rebooted with the SONY logo on for a while
9) And then the triangle settings logo with a spanner and screwdriver logo show up. The screen stayed for a while like 20 seconds
10) And then it goes black..... and I can't get it start ever again (yet)
I don't know what on earth was I thinking doing a factory reset... that was dumb of me
That's how the story went... what should I do?
I've tried:
Holding the power button for 20 seconds(or longer), no vibrations, led or anything
Holding the vol up button for 20 seconds(or longer), no vibrations, led or anything
Holding both power+vol up button for 20 seconds(or longer), no vibrations, led or anything
Connecting the phone to laptop using USB to see if it is detected by my laptop but no nothing happened though (I did not press any button while connected)
Enter FLASHMODE using the proper way (using flashtool and everything) but fruitless
Charging so that the Red LED comes out when phone runs out battery and resetted. But so far still nothing (6 hours+ charging)
So at this point what has happened to my phone? Is this considered 'bricked'? Is it over for my phone now? Can I do anything to get it back running? Please help.
Thank you so much in advance for reading and helping me out.

Thank you for your help.
The cyanogenmod wiki has a mistake(or software bug in CM11) in its installation instruction for xperia m. To go to the clockworkmod menu I had to press the volume rockers after the light at the bottom turned pink and stop pressing them when the light turns light blue(a bit greenish). If I keep pressing the volume before that then it seems that the phone goes into a bootloop .
How ever i was not able to recover the official rom of sony. But i did manage to install the nightly build for CM11 .
But the phone now seems to be a little bit warmer than it used to be while using wifi. Is it ok?
Thanks again in advance.
