I currently own both models because I am a US AT&T user and was thinking about switching from a white f400S (korean variant) to the black AT&T D850 model but the lcd looks yellow compared and not as bright on the AT&T version and this is consistent with all of them, not just mine (I work in a store so I have been comparing as I sell them).
Any guesses as to why? And does anyone else notice a very small but definitely noticeable checkerboard look on these phones when looking at a blank screen or over the flat colors? the quality seems poor for a 2k display and I have been satisfied with my f400. It doesn't make sense being that LG wouldn't outsource their displays to different manufacturers.
I bought 2 Sprint g3's and they have different displays. One is more yellowish but seems to have a bit better contrast and the other is cooler or bluer looking and seems to be a little brighter. Its really odd since I bought both at the same time on launch day but one is gold and the other is black.

Hey guys,
So I bought 2 different Galaxy nexuses from 2 different people and noticed a couple of differences.
1) Firstly was the different model numbers GT-I9250TSRRWC, and GT-I9250TSDTLS (the first seem to be more common or something because my brother also has that from Fido). My guess was that the second model is Telus' ??!!
2) The boxes they came in were slightly different (the second model was slightly smaller)
3) The difference in the physical of the 2 phones. (the second model seemed a bit more slimmer, and lighter in weight. The colour of it seemed more grey than the other one which was a bit yellowish compared to it. Also I noticed the battery cover was a lot easier to remove)
4) THIS IS THE BIG ONE. The screen was super different on the second model. The screen is a lot brighter, white is more white here (compared to more yellowish on the first model). Black is more greish here (compared to really black on the first model). It reminded me of the LCD on the Nexus S!! But all GNex have SAMOLED right? :S
5) The vibration intensity on the second model was lighter. (It feels like the vibration intensity on the Nexus S after the JB update)
Did anyone else have this differences? Is the second model a defective model? According to GSMARENA, the second model is Telus, which should have the same screen and everything else, and the difference is that its one less frequency in 3g. (Which I don't even know what the difference is!!)
Someone please help me.
Edit: I think this is what the purple screen issue that a lot of people had is, it was pretty purple when I turned down the brightness!
i've had the Galaxy S3 for a while and the screen was pretty good, with the HTC One X's screen beating it by a little amount only because i dont like how LCD's blacks aren't pitch black (off). But the colors definitely beat the GS3's. I heard LG's True HD IPS is even better than those but i'm wondering how much better than the Notes new Samoled where they pretty much get rid of Pentile? Will the new LG Nexus display be that much better or how about HTC's sharp 1080P display coming out? If the difference is minimum i rather settle for Samsung. Aslo, have they taken care of the low brightness whites? because they were very grainy and gray on my Galaxy Nexus
I just tested a Note II today in a shop. The screen looked great but I am a bit concerned that on full brightness it was less bright than my Galaxy S II and the whites looked very greyish.
there are at least two threads already existing covering this topic, please search!
in short: it's again the luck of the draw. had 3 note2 devices so far, one display was terrible (yellow tint),
the other two had pixel faults and/or dust particles between the outer glas and the panel!
my 4th device will arrive tomorrow (from amazon.de), let's look how that one will be...
i have to mention that most people are not aware of these flaws, especially about the tint. it's because
they have no other note2 devices to compare, or they do not care as much as i am!
if i pay 600EUR for a device, i want to have a perfect screen!
Hey guys i got a new lg g3 from orange. I just remarked something in strange. At first the phone display look so nice in the shoop having a little darkies tone and the photos where in a way a little more darkies in compared with lets say a note 4 or even htc one m8. It was nice not in a bad way by any means. So i order one and got it i was very happy about the phone but i noticed that the darker accents are not there, well i didnt knew if the light from the store was the problem so i went to the store and compared the 2 phones and its was a difference in the contrast of the display.
My question is can i make my display darker in a way. Its not about the brightness becouse both phones where using 100% of it.
Or do you think that the phone from the store has some problem or even mine.

I have recently bought an LG G4 as a budget device and I started noticing horizontal lines on the screen that look like equally distributed groups of dimmer and groups of brighter rows of pixels. At first I started thinking it was just the fact that I had a screen protector on my phone. But out of curiosity I compared my G4 , another one that has been bought about a half of a year ago and another one that was bought close after launch. Only mine has a screen protector on. I set the brightness on all three phones to maximum and noticed the one that was also bought fairly recently had the same sort of lines, however the one that was bought close to launch had ever so slightly better colors , no lines were to be found and was overall of better quality. Now I'm thinking that LG could have decreased display quality over time to make the phone cheaper and appealing to budget customers like myself. So I searched all over internet but haven't found nothing. The "lines" are actually barely noticeable and can't be picked up by a camera. I still like the phone but I would like to know if LG is producing different grades of displays for the same model over time (like revisions). Also note that all the phones tested were bought in the same country and all are the H815 model, also none of them were bought refurbished or used they were all directly bought from retailers/carriers.
Thanks for reading and please, let's discuss is this just random differences between displays or is this intentional to save money.
The original screens had problems with Screen Burn/Ghosting.
Mine suffers quite badly from it and was contemplating sending it back for repair.
LG could have changed the displays used in order solve this problem or it could quite possibly just be a stock/manufacturing thing.
Devices often change parts during their lifetime due to stock/availability issues or depending on which facility the phone was manufactured.
Mine has constant screen burns/ghosting. Motherboard has been replaced since bootloop problem. I don't want to bother send it back...
I know like the g2 had a jdi and a standard panel dont know what the diffrence was but lg did use 2 diffrent panels.

I understand that devices get different parts throughout their lifetime (for instance my previous device Xperia M2 had 2 revisions of sensors) , but I was just interested to know if there is any concrete facts of LG buying cheaper panels for the G4.
I just received a brand new LG G8 (Sprint) and noticed even at it's brightest it just felt a bit... dark. I put it side by side with my LG G6 and the G6 has a WAYYYY more true White color while the G8 has this slightly reddish tint to it. I did literally everything in settings, and the best I could get for a truer white color is putting it in Sports mode display. I don't know what's going on but it is perfect besides that. Is my screen defective or is that just how the phone is?
My g8 does have a redish\pinkish tint when I rotate to a certain angle, straight on and beyond that particular angle it looks great. A little disappointing but don't know of it is normal
Thanks for responding. I actually was so annoyed that I went to a local sprint store to compare with a G8 there, but none were in stock. Instead I compared it with a V60+ and to my surprise it looks the same way. Also, the S20 was similar, but a little brighter. I can only assume that new phones are dimmer like this because of whatever filtering they are doing to lessen eyestrain (even though I prefer the brighter screen personally). I did everything I could in the Settings, and the best I could get it to look was by toying with settings in Expert Mode or by just putting it in Sports mode. I can live with it once I get used to it I guess... I'm just spoiled by how much brighter my LG G6 is.
I just switched from g6 to g8s. The whites on g6 are much much better. I don't think g6 is brighter. But the better whites might give that impression. I'm gonna miss that white.
