Is it wise not to install it and only run it from PC?
I would prefer to boot the phone in twrp mode.

Sorry for bumping, but I hope somebody can guide me to a conclusion. Should I make make this twrp a default boot option or should I always enter it from a PC.
My wish is to have this as a default part of booting

The only thing that must be run from a PC is the tool in the OP.
The tool then installs the recovery on your phone.
A recovery is NOT part of the boot or of the ROM you are using.
Once installed, if you want to directly access your recovery, either :
_ Power off your device.
_ Press and hold volume down, then press Power on until the Recovery screen comes up.
Or
_ From the ROM's Settings, in the System menu, go into the the Developers options.
_ Enable Advanced Reboot option.
Then, you can press the power button until the reboot menu appears and choose to directly reboot to Recovery.

I have posted alpha 2 to the google± link. It fixes the flashing screen bug. There will probably be another update today and then hopefully I can clean the code up a bit to release it.

Just an FYI, flashing superwipe I got no error but trying to flash RHCPs rom update I get the following error.
Code:
assert failed: !less_than_int(1325725955, getprop("ro.build.data.utc"))
E: Error in /sdcard/rhcp.zip (Status 7)
Going back to the other CWrecovery this goes away.
man this is awesome
love it.. great job!
I am a bit reluctant to try until after bugs have been found and squashed.
But thank you very much for making this and I look forward to using it in the future.

Google+ thread updated again! Beta 1 is out. This fixes the assert errors and has a new font by CEnnis91!

This a short list of frequently asked questions about the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8" (SM-T310) and the answers often given as a response. It should serve as a starting point for gathering knowledge and finding solutions to many common problems. Please only post in this thread with feedback on how to improve this document. Do not post "Thank you" type responses.
Do not use this thread as a general helping thread.
Q1: How do I root my SM-T310?
First you're gonna need a custom recovery installed.
Download the following files to your computer: Odin, TWRP, Root
Extract Odin into a new folder and then TWRP in Odon's folder. After that's done start the Odin tool and put your device into download mode. To do this, power it off and hold the Home + Volume Down + Power buttons until you see the warning screen.
Once that's done, connect your device to your computer and wait till Odin recognizes it. If it doesn't usually an installation of Samsung Kies would fix it.
After the device is recognized sucessfully click on the PDA button in Odin and navigate to the TWRP file location and load it.
Wait for the PASS message and reboot your device. (Without disconnecting it)
Once done, boot into TWRP and hold your device in portrait mode, tap Reboot on the bottom right of the screen and then select System on the next menu.
Once you do this you will be asked to install root. If that doesn't work for your, copy the Root zip file to your SD Card, boot into TWRP and flash it as a normal zip.

Q2: How can I enter recovery?
To enter recovery, power off your device and hold Power + Volume Up buttons untill you see the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 splash screen and let off the Power button untill it boots you into recovery.

Q3: Which is the best ROM/Kernel?
Honestly, there is no "best". It's all based on personal choice. For example; I may like heavily customizing my ROMs whereas you may like it to look at basic as possible. The best thing you can do is to just test out different ROMs/kernels/modems and see which you prefer.
Also, please don't ask which is the best because your post will be deleted as it's against forum rules.

Q4: Am I required to backup my data before flashing anything?
No you're not, but it is definitely a good idea, especially when flashing a ROM with an updated base, because if you don't do a backup and then something goes wrong, it means that you'll lose all your apps, data etc.
Click to collapse
Q5: Does this device have a good battery life?
We all have different apps installed, use our phones for different amounts of time, have different ROMs and kernels installed etc. so we will all experience different results regarding battery life.

Q6: I'm not sure whether to get the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8"/what other tablets compare to the Tab 3 8"?
The only person who can make you want the device is you. If you're not sure whether to get this tablet, go to your local devices shop which has stock and have a test run of it for yourself. If you're not sure what device to get and want to compare between your choices, please use the following thread - Device Suggestion Thread

Hi everyone.
Here's my build of TWRP for P6S-U06.
Features:
Supports USB OTG, so you can use USB flash drive as external storage for backups, zip installations.
Because device doesn't support external SD card, I've added feature to make backup of internal storage (to USB flash of course).
Combined with stock EMUI 3.1 recovery. In case of power-on by holding power + vol+ or rebooting into recovery by command or any 3rd part application: will boot in TWRP. In case of local update, OTA-update, "force update" (3buttons method) or factory reset: will boot into EMUI recovery.
Off-mode charger updated from EMUI 3.1
custom.bin and cust symlinks are saved/restored (if they were exist) in case of Wipe/Format Data. So there not gonna be "cust" issues after factory reset in TWRP.
Requirements:
Unlocked bootloader
Android 4.4.2 - 5.1.1
Installation:
Reboot in fastboot mode
Flash image via fastboot
Code:
fastboot flash recovery TWRP_Recovery-3.0.3-0.img
fastboot reboot
From TWRP: Press "Install" and select zip-archive
Notes:
Because internal storage is not a separate block device and just a subfolder of "userdata" partition, before you can make backup/restore of internal storage, first you should do Mount -> Data.
It will not work on P6, it's for P6S only.
Download: TWRP_Recovery-3.0.3-0.img
For TWRP: TWRP_Recovery-3.0.3-0.zip
Previous:
Download: TWRP_Recovery-3.0.2-0.img
For TWRP: TWRP_Recovery-3.0.2-0.zip
Download: TWRP_Recovery-3.0.0-0.img
For TWRP: TWRP_Recovery-3.0.0-0.zip

Hi Guys,
I'm trying to install TWRP on my tablet but I've encountered some issues: starting from this post https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...al-twrp-3-5-1-for-lt03lte-18-03-2021.3635803/ I've used Odin3_3.14.4 and Odin3_v3.13.1 to flash it but nothing changed.
I've also installed different versions of TWRP but the problem still persist.
The bootloader is the 5.1.1
Could please someone help me with it?
Thanks.

No, you did not provide a link to the odin you used.
So use the version of The Muppets.
After flashing TWRP you need to start recovery mode instead of letting android boot. The easiest way to do this after properly flashing TWRP:
unplug the USB cable
turn off the device with the power button
turn on recovery mode

Hi,
I've installed the twrp-2.8.7.0-lt03ltexx-4.4.img.tar version, I have 2 problems:
1. I can't upgrade to twrp-3.1.1-0-lt03ltexx.img.tar, I've tried before but it goes in boot loop and I had to disconnect the battery and rollback to twrp-2.8.7, do you know how can I update to 3.11 version?
2. I want to install Lineage OS but all the posts I've found needs another TWRP version (for example this: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...eos-17-1-for-lt03lte-20-03-2021-beta.4046055/ that needs the 3.2.1 version) do you know if I can install the same lineage OS version or do I have to make a custom version of it?
Thanks.
