[Q] Verizon Service Menu? - G3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I enter #3845*985# and I didn't activate my phone. It doesn't go to the menu, just puts me on hold with Verizon. Am I using the wrong code or something?

Hehe, third times a charm? Read the sticky thread under Android Development. Click on this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1726558 and watch the video! It's step-by-step, so easy to do. Your answer is there, as I've told you three times now, in three separate threads, where you've asked the same exact question three times.

Yes you need to stop Knox for security specific apps.
Go to settings>general>security and check unknown sources , then uncheck verify apps. This is mainly for installing apps.
But since there's no real indication of what you have installed, and whats running. i'd do that first and go from there.
From what the masses say, its a root issue that has been fixed. SO yes, you have to be rooted to get rid of whatever you are trying to do.
Thanks ill do that.

Ive seen before people have a app and set it to auto turn off the screen when the power for usb goes off and the screen auto unlocks and turns back on when power is restored but thats it.

Tasker will do this but you have to install the Secure Settings plugin and use the lock device function. I'm going through a round of this myself.

Lol yea I was using tasker but I would rather it shutnright off without power and turn back on with the ignition.... So I have no worry about it dying and having to dismantle my dash to turn it back on.
I thought about running a power button but don't want yo rip apart my tablet with no knowledge

Yeah, but you stated you did not want to alter the hardware (rip apart the hardware). There is a teardown video that might make you more comfortable.

There could be, have you tried that method on the new one? I'm not going to pretend I'm an expert so I really don't know. Perhaps if you linked me to the method you speak of I could be of more help.

Phone won't root

I've done everything I could to try and root this phone but the last step just isn't working. When I have to put the command to flash the unlock bin it gives me a error message. Any ideas. I've used two different laptops.

Close except you don't need to flash switch bootloaders.
What it basically does is allow you to create Rom "slots" in which you can install multiple roms. On boot you are presented with a screen to either continue booting, or boot into SafeStrap, which is where you can select the slot to boot
