Has anyone actually contacted LG about issues? - G3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Seems like 90% of the posts in these forums are about issues with the G3 from lag to random shutdowns to battery life to screen issues.
Just wondering if anyone had made the time to whinge at LG through their official channels yet regarding a software update which would fix bugs etc???

I was about to make a similar post.
You can easily message or live chat with them to tell them your issues at: http://www.lg.com/us/support/mobile-support
They can log the issue and the more complaints they get the higher the priority may be.
Ask for a VOC number (Voice of Customer) to ensure they logged your concerns.

I have tweeted them but they just ignore you

No issues here my AT&T version is flawless

Yup i phoned LG UK today to complain about my G3 shutting down and heating issues, they said they werent aware of any issues in the UK but have heard of some issues elsewhere, was advised to send my G3 into the repair center and thats what ive done, ill update the respective threads (shutting down one) if anything changes when i get it back in a week or so.

I have the TMO variant with no issues. Heard something about low volume but that doesn't exist on mine...it's plenty loud not even at full volume.

[Q] GNex reception and date issue

My brother has a GNex. He is not as tech savvy as I am, so I try to help him out when I can (update his rom, troubleshoot issues, etc.). It's a bit difficult because I live in Texas and he goes to school in North Carolina. Long story short, he is having problems with his phone. He is having issues where the phone will not have any signal at all (literally can't make calls or text or anything). It is not the area he is in because I visited him and had zero issues with my GNex. His phone also says it is December 31, 1999. I found a few threads from a quick Google search describing similar issues, although it seems to be a variety of phones having the issue (I can't post links here yet because I am a 'new' user. If you want to see the threads I posted, this same message is posted at droidHive under Help/Galaxy Nexus and at DroidJunk under General Gnex Discussion). This must be some Samsung issue. He had the problem while running stock 4.0.2. Verizon sent him a ‘certified like new’ replacement and that was okay for a few days, then he had the issue again. I put him on Tranquil Ice 4.0.4 and that fixed the issue for a few days, then it came back. This has all been within the last couple of months.
Basically, I am wondering if anyone has previously heard of this and/or know how to fix it? All of the threads I noted above seem to have died and have not resolved the issue.
Thanks in advance for any feedback.
(in case you are wondering, I have a GNex running Junk with no serious issues and I'm loving it)
Just to update, my brother did a battery pull and everything seems to be working properly for the time being.
I'm still interested to know if anyone has more information about the problem described in the OP.

Who has experienced the WiFi Hardware issue?

Hey guys, recently I've been following the WiFi hardware issue that has been mentioned in the thread here as I've discovered I'm suffering from the issue myself. I'm interested in how many people are actually experiencing this problem so I figured I'd put up a poll to see what the status of everyone's devices are.
I am, but can't vote, due to low post count.
Mine was HT23W. Was unrooted and only became apparent after 3.5 weeks of use. The replacement was HT23Y, which was defective out of the box. Screen issues on that one though. Awaiting 3rd and final replacement (Getting a SGS 3 if this one is also faulty).
To get a better summary, it may be worth amending the poll questions to something like:
Yes - HT23W
No - HT23W
Yes - HT23Y
...etc?
No, month old unbranded - Your poll will probably be voted on by people that don't even own the One X, such as other manufacturers fanboys. I would just go by what is posted in the thread and do a tally at the end to be accurate. There is a problem no doubt about that but I'm not sure how widespread it is?
Model SH23HW
Asia .707
I'm not sure my HOX was the issue. I haven't noticed any problems with the wifi, but when I do "the test" the upper wifi bar disappears, and when I remove my hand, it comes right back. Any others experiencing this ?

Phone call problems, not being heard

Hey folks, just wanted to see if anyone else is experiencing this problem and if a fix has been found or if it's an HTC problem with the phone design. This is happening to me frequently and it doesn't matter which ROM I am running, it happens on all of them. Whenever I'm on a call, the person on the other line will complain they cannot hear me (I'll hear them just fine). This will last for anywhere from 2-3 seconds to 15-20 seconds and may happen several times on a call.
Is anyone else having this issue? I've checked the web and there seems to be several discussions and compalints on several HTC forums about this problem but no fix so far, I checked a few pages on this thread and didn't see anything mentioned here so I was wondering if anyone else is affected.
Like i said, I have tried 4-5 different ROMs to see if any gave different results but no luck. So I'm leaning towards it being a hardware or design issue. I really like this phone but if this can't be resolved I guess it's back to Sammy for an S5.
Any input would be great, thanks.
Ironically I do t have this issue but I've had it from my wife's iPhone 5s periodically. Have you compared with another phone on same network in Same region? Could be network related. They have apps that measure signal strength, I'd start there to slowly rule out everything until I get to hardware as only possible problem.

Yeah as a matter of fact my wife has the Sony Z1s and has no issues at all with her phone (were both on TMob). When I'm on the phone with her or other family members with different phones and different carriers it happens. The pain in the @SS is it's not 100% all the time so I lean towards a software issue insted of hardware issue so I'm hoping there is some kind of fix coming. If I knew it was a hardware or design flaw this phone would have gone back already.
Anyone else have call quality issues receiving/transmitting?

[Q] BT Headphone problem

Hello all,
today I updated to Lillipop and everythings works fine expect bluetooth. I listen music with my Sony MTR-10RBT and G3 but ofter occur frequently short interrupts while listing music. That sucks!
I made a whipe allready but nothing helped.
It´s a known porblem?? Or have someone a solution for that? Thanks.
hmmm this was a known problem for people who switched to ART while in Kitkat. Since Lollipop uses ART, this probably is the issue. I would have thought they'd fix this before an official update though.
LG Support Fix
I've have this problem and it's highly irritating since I use my bluetooth headphones for almost 3 hours every day. I've spoken to LG support and they have suggested the only fix is to roll back to kitkat, also if I send it in for "repair", it will take 14-21 days (might have said 14 days). They also "enticed" me with the fact that 5.0.1 for the G3 will fix the problem but I'm not sure that I even described the problem in sufficient detail before lollipop was firmly blamed as the problem.
I did mention that I don't have this problem with a Nexus 4, Nexus 5, Galaxy S5 all on lollipop 5.0.0 and I proceeded to get a lecture about how those phones are probably on 5.0.1 and that's why they work, they are not, but found it surprising at how LG dodged the fact that they hadn't a clue how to fix the problem. I feel like I've been let down by LG who seem uninterested, or non committed to fixing the problem and a support function that doesn't consider their user needs or how they customers use their products. Let's face it practically, how many people can go for 14-21 days without their phone for the sake of flashing a different OS
I knew I never should have moved away from my nexus 4 which was absolutely perfect in every way, thank goodness I didn't have to contact LG for any problems for that. I hope LG realise that as of now I just won't buy any of their products because of really poor customer service and unreasonable fix times that are outside the expectations of any user given the simple nature of the fix. As mentioned above, this problem existed on the LG G3 before lollipop and they couldn't be bothered to fix it then or even warn people not to upgrade because they hadn't fixed it. I'm just glad that I haven't had my new LG telly delivered because of the christmas rush, it's now been cancelled and I'll buy something else.
Rant over....

Seeking clarification of potential issues reagarding the VZW G4.

I have read several threads and reviews on several different sites concerning the G4, and my head is spinning. I am currently on a g3, and looking to do an upgrade through best buy to re up my contract to avoid the unlimited data price increase. My choices are between an s6 variant and the G4. That's all background...so here we go...
I have read about touchscreen issues here on XDA. On other sites I have read about some sort of hardware issues with G4's mAde before September, but also saying that those are now resolved. Are these the same issue? Are these issues resolved? If it is not, how bad is this touch screen issue? I see lots of positive reviews, but then On a few trusted sites like XDA I see what looks like horror stories, but some of these stories are in posts that weeks and months old, so I am having trouble getting the picture of the current state of affairs. I also see something about a eifi issue too.
Camera. I read it is the best camera out there on some sites, but others saying that the phone takes a few seconds from "click to pic" so that you miss the shot you want. That is the issue I have on the g3, and don't want to repeat it. Can anyone share their experiences please?
Is there anything I am missing here?
Thanks in advance to all responders.

I recently updated to software version 12A and have unfortunately been one of the users affected by the wifi issue. I don't receive any notifications while connected to wifi, but do when I turn wifi off and run off of 4G LTE. Annoying having to turn off wifi to get notifications from Gmail or Hangouts and then have to remember to re-enable it before streaming videos/music or downloading files. Apparently several users on this forum have discovered that the wifi notifications problem is related to IPv6 and that by disabling it (rooted device) or using a VPN (forces device to use IPv4) will fix that issue, I haven't tried this myself yet.
After updating when using wifi I have also experienced noticeable lag on Google or browsing the web using Chrome. It's not too bad but it just doesn't feel as snappy as it did before the upgrade. I haven't had any issues with the touchscreen on my G4 so far. It would appear that Verizon has since pulled that particular update as it was causing so many problems. Hopefully Android 6.0 Marshmallow fixes these problems, but so far there isn't a time-frame for when it is expected to be released.
In regards to the camera, it is nice to have the ability to adjust most of the controls manually. (although the f-stop appears to be fixed to 1.8) I have noticed it can sometimes take a second or two to take photos, but most of the time once it has focus in automatic mode it's pretty responsive. The G4 also has the ability to shoot RAW photos if you're into that kind of thing and prefer to edit the photos later and pull out more data from shadows/highlights.

Thank you for your help. I am a former HTC thunderbolt owner, so I am very warry about these things. I am sure the notifications issue will be solved with a update like the thunder bolt similar issue was.
If I may ask you, how long have you owned this? I am trying to get a sense of when it was made as I am concerned about this vague harware issue I read about in some places.
I am not sure I want to root this phone as I wish to use stuff like android pay now, and I have given up xposed due to severe battery drain on my g3 tied to it.
With respect to the camera, I have noticed that I take far fewer pictures on my g3 vs what I did on my samsung s3. I attribute this to the difficulty of talking the picture due to the delay.
This is more difficult decision than I wanted! Anyone else have any thoughts on these issues?

It was purchased at the end of July so I've had it for about three months now.
I'm ready to throw mine out the window. The keyboard lag is horrendous on my phone. I can't type more than 4 words without have a missed key. I do love the phone other than that issue.
Mine died last week. This android system battery drain is murdering my battery. I've had it with this phone
