Windows 8 doesnt recognize my Arc S when i try to fastboot - Xperia Arc Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

While going into fastboot, blue led is working fine but Windows does not recognize it. Here is a screen of my device manager: http://gyazo.com/d0ee32479007864dd35fbe6ed6f467e1

go & use GOOGLE
dont create threads for such minor issues
even my 6 yr sis knows how & why to use GOOGLE

I wouldn't post here if any of google solutions would've helped me. Don't be a **** and have a nice day

I had the same problem when i used flashtool for the first time on windows 8.1. The solution is to boot windows 8 without signature verification and install drivers provided with flashtool. Then reboot normal and your windows will detect your phone.

[Q] Fastboot driver problem

Hi, I have a huge problem and I don't know what to do anymore. I try to access fastboot mode on my Xperia Play, so I can flash ICS kernel, I did usual stuff, followed the guides, watches few videos on youtube, now I am stuck on part where I have to install drivers manually.
So basicly I go to device manager, select S1boot, update, select driver... And after I do that, every single time it says that Windows could not find driver software for your device.
I tried downloading many different drivers, I tried many combinations in pointing them like:
C:\Users\T-N-Z\Desktop\Fastboot\fastboot\Drivers\x64
or just
C:\Users\T-N-Z\Desktop\Fastboot\fastboot\Drivers\
etc..
I am on Windows 8 RTM Pro. I had similar issue in Windows 7, but it fixed itself randomly :/
I also installed Android SDK and Android USB drivers from it..
I tried installing fastboot driver with flashtool, but I believe it installs wrong driver, S1boot gets renamed to SEMCFLASH or something called like that, and after that my Xperia Play won't stay in fastboot mode, so I can't do anything.
Please help me out, what am I doing wrong? Thank you.

Ok, I have disabled driver thingie on Windows 8 and installed your package files. Now drivers says that I have Android ADB interface, but... When I boot into fastboot mode, after some time it just turns offs and phone starts charging process.
Maybe it needs to be fully charged or something before I can do anything or what?
It just started working for no reason again... Don't know what I've done differently this time but it works now. Thanks for help.

hi ,I had the same problem it's easy to fix you need to disable digital signatures on your pc go to settings restart your pc in advanced mode and disable digital signatures restart your computer and it will accept all windows 7 drivers a warning will come up when your installing them but just click on install anyway and they work fine .If your not sure how to disable them just go to the search bar on your pc type in disable signatures and various tutorials will come up to show you how .

[Q] Xperia Z1 Compact on Windows 7 64bit

Tried to connect my phone to a Windows 7 64bit PC using the USB cable but Windows couldn't find the device driver for D5503. I found these from the Sony site and downloaded them but I couldn't install them manually either. Anyone managed to gracefully connect this to a PC?

I've got the newest Sony PC Companion (thorugh Update) and my System recognized the phone directly.
Did you tried that approach also?

What do you mean by "through update"? I just downloaded PC companion from the Sony site.

I have a Win7 64Bit System. I have not yet tested on Win8.1 64bit, but will do in the next days.
"Through Update" means, that my (already installed) PC Companion had informed me for an updated version 1-2 weeks ago and I've installed it.
So last Friday I just plugged the Z1C and it the driver was installed and I was able to use my phone on the computer.
If you installed the PC Companion after you connected your phone, than you might have to remove the device within the device manager. After a reboot it should work. At least my experience with other Sony devices.

I read that. But I have windows media player installed. Who doesn't on a Windows pc, its default?
I have it working on laptop, will give up with the PC.
Same problems as described above.
Following worked for my PC: (I have a Dutch windows (7, 64) and translated the following commands in English. So it is possible that these commands are named different in the English windows version.)
Go to device manager, right click on D5503 (with the yellow triangle), Search for device on my computer (second option), I want to choose from the driver list on my computer, uncheck view compatible hardware, standard MTP device, MTP USB device.
The Phone has to be set on MTP in the USB connection setting to use it with PC companion
Same issue here, any ideas?
USB debugging and MTP already worked successful, but now it's not working anymore.
Following situation:
If I disable USB debugging and plug USB cable into PC then nothing is shown in Windows Explorer and even not in the device manager. The field "MTP" is greyed out/disabled in XPERIA connectivity -> USB connection.
If I enable USB debugging, phone says "connected" however Windows is showing yellow triangle. I tried to download the drivers from http://developer.sonymobile.com/downloads/drivers/xperia-z1-compact-driver/ but Windows doesn't detect them.
If I try to uninstall the drivers right click on D5503 (with yellow triangle) nothing happens.
Phone reset the only idea?
Ok, I got it.

Hi there, I'm having the same problem. I've installed the CWM recovery, but stupidly didn't check that I could access the phone over USB beforehand. Now I'm stuck with a continuously rebooting phone, and windows says it can't install the Sony driver.
When you said you added the above two lines to the android_winusb.inf file, what did you mean? I found this file in the
C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\android_winusb.inf_amd64_neutral_d58a98da913cec3a
folder, but couldn't edit it, even as admin.
Any help appreciated, thanks.

Ok, I installed the driver on a notebook and was able to get a ROM (CM 11 M8 snapshot) loaded to /sdcard. But after I installed from zip, I'm still stuck in a boot loop to CWM recovery.
Anyone know how to get out of this?

If you can install PC Companion then it should be fine, the correct z1c driver will be installed for your windows and Adb will work normally. But just some people never can install PCC successfully and they will need to modify their android_winusb.inf to add two lines and let your windows to recognize your Z1c.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2635830
Alternative way is to install Xperia driver set but I have never tried this method.

If you stuck in a boot loop with wrong recovery(I just tried it today). I'm afraid you have to flash a .ftf and clean all things out. At first, you can try to boot into fastboot mode(you will need to make sure your adb works) and try to flash other custom recovery and wish no boot loop again.

If it doesn't work too, then you have to start from scratch for your phone. Please follow my guide step5 to step16.

OP3 Not Found By Fastboot (Win 10)

So I'm running windows 10 on my pc and my op3 is easily found by windows. When I enter fastboot mode on my op3, the command "fastboot devices" doesn't show my op3. I used that 15 sec adb & fastboot installer.

Have you enabled oem unlocking from developer options?
I'm having the same problem. After going back to Oxygen OS (now 3.5.4) from MIUI 8 fastboot just doesn't work anymore. ABD works just fine (tried on Minimal ABD and Fastboot on Windows and ABD installed over Android Studio on Ubuntu. Fastboot did recognize the phone on Ubuntu but flashing TWRP resolved in a bootloop (tried the old and the new recovery image).
All drivers are installed on both Windows and Ubuntu (I even removed all drivers on Windows and added them again) and just to make sure everything gets installed I disabled driver signature verification on Windows, but as I said - still no luck.
Edit: Of course USB Debugging and OEM Unlocking is enabled (my bootloader is also unlocked since I already had tried out multiple roms)
Had the same Problem, Win10 is the Problem + the old OP Drivers + the new Update to Win10 etc.
Nothing worked, tryed everything. Created a Thread last week here also...
After that i created a new Partition and installed Win7 on it. All works fine, only thing is while Boot ur System u have to pick ur OS or it waits 30sec to boot up but thats ok.
Now i have Win10 for everything and i reboot to win7 for Fastboot/OP3

Didnt tryed the last Tip.

Can't solve your problem, but OP3 fastboot does work in Windows 10. I did have to disable driver signature verification to install the driver in the first place, and you'll have to leave it off for the driver to stay functional, but it definitely works on Win 10.
I dont tryed ur Way, so yes after disable Driver sign. it works like u Said but i did not Test it.
i had the same problem to find the correct adb driver spent many hours but it didnt work so after that last i try to update windows 10 and find adb driver there after updating window its work like charm so all u have to do is just connect ur phone with data transfer mode on and search the window automatic updates .
Same here
It's driving me crazy. I've updated from a rooted stock OS (incl TWRP) via full OTA directly to 3.2.7, which removed TWRP and root.
I now cannot enter a Fastboot mode which detects the USB connection. Thus I can't flash TWRP again and can't root my phone, making lots of apps unusable.
I've tried every suggestion on every thread but nothing works...

Rebooted both devices, OP3 was in fastboot. Then there was a Driver called Oneplus Bootloader Interface (or something similar)

Yeah that one. After disabling the driver signature verification you have to re install it, when it's not disabled windows just doesn't install it although it says it does. After I disabled it Windows actually showed a completely new window during installation to install the driver properly

Question Fastboot problem

Hello people,
I'm trying to unlock the bootloader following the sony instructions,
but i cannot configure correctly the drivers on my windows 10 machine (with last updates 22H2),
when i connect the phone on fastboot mode (light blue led turned on), i have on the device manager under other devices "android" with a warning sign.
when i want to update the controllers to the ones that i downloaded from sony or the google ones (as instructed by sony), windows says that cannot find any compatible controllers...
if i manually install the controllers from sony, i got them with a warning and code 10 (cannot initiate).
when i used EMMA to verify the phone (volume down, green led) the phone get recognized... so i'm pretty sure it's not a problem of port or cable.
HELP?
i don't know how to proceed.

Please download drivers from here and then move the file to desktop and open it as admin and install the drivers.
If your computer has AMD or Intel Chipset, please make sure you have all the drivers updated to the latest ones because the chipset drivers do cause these problems, You can use iOBit Driver booster free software to update your Windows machine drivers.
Please comment if you need any help in this regards.
Solved.
I did a install of generic ADB drivers of google (with the controller update), and that worked for me.
