Hi all...
I want to buy LG G3, but I'm troubiling to buy G3 or Note 3...
So I have a question about G3 and Dual Window.
My question is:
Can I put custom apps to Dual Window ?
For example: I would like to have Whatsapp or Viber & Dolphin Browser opend at the same time
Or any other combination of apps (but some of them are not listed in Dual Window list)
I know that this is possible with Samsung devices (but needs Multi Window manager app)
Thanks

Try this http://www.andromods.com/apps-mod/enable-all-apps-lg-g3-split-screen-window-mod.html
You can just change a build.prop settings to allow that.

It doesn't exist because there's no GSM radio. With no GSM radio, what would you be using it for anyway?

Great. And it can't be used for anything unless you keep digging and find a hidden GSM radio to go with it.

I just need it to run *#0*# to test the tablet
might be a noob question but what does *#0*# do on a tablet?
It puts it into test mode. You can test camera, touch, speakers, prox sensor...ect.
I have the phone dialer set as a shortcut on my tab homescreen. I will post on how to enable it when I get home.

As every pre-installed App: /system/app/. And the app name is SecPhone.apk.

The problem is that every app can define conditions and so also here the app define only be startable with a gsm. Therefore I think you will need root rights. But maybe someone here found a trick.

My tablet is rooted. Yes i know that SecPhone.apk is in system apps . my question how to have it appears in apps drawer.
Here is the shortcut i found.
Install Nova launcher.
Open up apps, then widgets, you will see a widget called "activities" long press that.
A menu will open up, scroll down to contacts, and tap that.
Scroll down to phone, you will see the phone icon, tap phone icon.
Now you have the phone dial pad on your homescreen to enter into *#0 menu.
It will not show up on the app drawer, just homescreen as a widget.

Hi everyone, is there a way that allows ours G3 to get the Android Lollipop Recent Apps tab view? Can someone extract this feature from the 5.0 stock roms? I also know that the Paranoid Roms have this type of view. So is there a way to get it for our devices? Thank you so much and excuse me for my english

Is it that bad? You can pinch in to have 2x2 or just 2 per page. 3x3 looks really ugly and you can remove the buttons using G3 TWB. Personally I use only 2 per page with the AOSP style kill all button, LG Buttons disabled and the RAM bar enabled.
AOSP for kitkat seems much more useful and elegant to me, and works way smoother. Having seen Lollipop recents app, IMO, makes LG horrible.
Yes, lollipop recent apps is really elegant and useful but i think there is no way to get it on KitKat
Use Fancy Switcher:- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2610409
Play store:- https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jkab.fancyswitcher
It doesn't require root.
Long press home btn and select fancy switcher.
I want to ask opposite of that,
I am using lollipop g3 cloudy rom but I hate recent apps view,
I want to change this cards view to tabs view ... if thats somehow possible like HTC lollipop rom,
Card view with chrome pages is horrible.
Thanks.

Because I can't find something with the search function I opened this thread. I am relatively new, so please correct me, if this is not in the right place or what ever.
To my problem/idea :
I love my note 10.1 2014 WiFi edition but there is that one thing that annoys me a lot lately. I often use the multiwindow feature especially for opening links etc. When the second app opened the tray with the options in it closes and you have to open it for every single action you want to make. Because I am a noob when it comes to programming and thinks I wanted to ask if here is somewhere who can tweak the multiwindow so that the option tray stays unfolded. Maybe there are a few others with the same opinion.
Sorry for my English, I am a native German.

Welcome to our community Dear friend  , well , about the problem you should give more details ... can you tell us about the ROM , stock or custom ?( stock = the Samsung's ROM / Custom = a user's cooked ROM ) android version ? ( are you using 5.1.1 or 4.3 or 4.4.2 ? )... I think you can switch to a new Browser ... why don't you try " Google Chrome " browser ... as I remember It had this ability ... and you could even use an " Open in New Tab " option ... I think this might help you a bit ...

Hi. It has to be my fault but I think we are talking from different things. First of all I am using a stock android 5.1.1 which is rooted and with a custom recovery installed. I attached two pictures where you can see maps and play store used with the multiwindow feature. In the middle is this white dot which can be pressed and then unfolds to the small bar which can be seen on the other picture. This thing folds to this little white dot, every time you touch the screen and first unfolds when you press it again. This is really annoying and it would be great if it's possible to make it stay open all the time.

Hello everyone
Since most of you know, sony released a new launcher with icon support. But sadly, they don't support most of the icon packs. A few created by xda members but it's not a real solution. A while ago, I created a tool for automatically convert those icons with computer help. It's based on java, and it's in VERY VERY early stage of development.
It's not guaranteed that it will work at all, but i tried with my phone xperia z3 compact. And it seems worked all the time.
Known bugs
-App name, app icon is not generating. It's always framed with some sorf of icon.
-It freeze while converting because lack of threads
-Sometimes it can't display all of the installed apps , which is absolutely weird
-Only 1 app can be converted for this time because of package names are same. If you convert apk. Just select none and apply. Then select framed again to "refresh" new icons
For the sake of small tutorial, I used polycon icon pack which can be downloaded from google play
1.Connect your phone with usb debugging activated
2.Press "Connect Phone"
3.App will be listed in combobox (it will show app name in the future ofc, and If possible I will limit those apps to display only icon pack apps)
4.Press convert button. ( It will freeze, I know i didn't implemented threads because i'm lazy guy.)
5.Choose it from icon pack settings
Application will download, convert and install apk to your phone.
Here's some screenshoots

Hidden, because they are huge.
Oh bonus, it developed in java. It should be working at mac, linux(replace adb file with linux adb file) ,windows(not yet)
So, there won't be a download for just jar file not yet. I will give you eclipse project, download it. Play with it. I'm open to suggestions. Code fixes etc.
This is first time i ever develop adb app. So I had no idea how to connect device, get stuff etc. I tried my best my it might be stupid solution, please don't hate me.
PS: I'm college student and I have finals. I just put this because i just developed this for 2 hours a week ago and its been there since. I will continue develop when i got time.

Hey guys, unfortunately I have problems with my phone. As I said before, I can't develop anymore. But thanks for 500+ downloads even if it's just source code not even binary!
Hi!
So, on my jailbroken iPhone XS I have a genious tweak that I can click on when I take a screenshot, where it converts the text on the screenshot-text into actual text you can copy.
Anything that does this seamlessly on Android? (Running Galaxy S20 if it matters)

The issue with "regular" apps is that I need to do a screenshot, then open the app, find the SS and then convert to text.
Is there no way of implementing such a thing into the OneUI for example?
So another icon will pop up when I do the SS-shortcut?
Or even making a new shortcut that would "automate" this?
What about edge panel?View attachment 5047209View attachment 5047211

You'd have to ask Samsung about OneUI implementing
The way I do it is just hit the "Share" icon after taking a SS, and share it to the editing app I want to open, pretty much feels like it is part of the SS app that way

This is most likely the best way to do it by far!
Not used to Samsung, so the "share" button wasnt as obvious to me as it should be - but this works very well with Google Lens.
Thank you

No probs :good:
Yea the share feature is very handy for a lot of things, for example you can set up a shared folder on your PC, install Total Commander and the LAN plugin, connect it to the shared folder, then you can use the Share feature to copy files to the PC from the phone via WiFi, select the file > share > total commander > find the PC shared folder > done
