SGHI-I747 4.3 root wifi tether - AT&T, Rogers, Bell, Telus Samsung Galaxy S III

I have a SGHI-I747 4.3 I am wondering if I am able to root it with the instructions from http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...3790&nocache=1 I do not see my phone listed.
I would like to disable knox also and enable wifi tether.
Any help would be much appreciated thanks.

SuperSU wont work
I just rooted my Samsung sgh i747 and SuperUS keeps crashing with the following error message: Unfortunately, SuperSU has stopped.

Try Towelroot.

Wifi tether
I now have my phone rooted and supersu is properly working what is the best way to enable wifi tether? I have unlimited data with at&t and am going on vacation so I would really like to have it enabled. I previously used trev mod to enable wifi but it doesn't work with the 4.3 update.

OTA update problems with WIFI Tether

is there anyone having the same problem? I did the OTA update earlier and my WIFI Tether is not responding giving me a message saying to try again. Are there any fix to this? thanks in advance!
the OTA breaks root, which is required for wifi tether. i previously used unrevoked just for wifi tether, but as far as i know they're not yet updated for the new OTA.

[Q] Thether without root

I know is a redundant question but I updated the ota and can't root is any way I can therther without needing the root phone and sprint hotspot service?
currently there is not a way to wirelessly tether with out sprint hotspot un rooted. I believe someone said pdanet still works to usb tether 3g but i have not tried it myself.

[Q] Is rooting enough to get WiFi Tether to work?

I like the current version of touchwiz.. so I don't mind staying with it
I do however want WiFi Tether... can I get it to work on Stock Rooted or do I need a different Rom for it? If I do I haven't been here in a couple of month and Im really don't know what's the most stable Roms and which ones look similar to Touchwiz and that support WiFi Tether
Can someone please help??
Also.. any easy way to root using a MAC?? I remember witht he EPIC 4G to be a nightmare rooting a device using a MAC computer
I don't know about using macs, but you will need to root then flash a .zip in recovery to get tethering working. A lot of custom roms will have that feature already enabled.
If you're looking for TouchWiz roms, just look for ones over 1gb
The smaller ones won't be tw.
you may need busybox installed. But that should be must have if rooted anyway.
beyond that, it's just trial and error with the WiFi Tether settings. I suggest using Reload Driver 2.
I recently purchased a new GN2 and had to re root. I enjoy stock Touchwiz so i tried this exact thing.
Rooted using the guide at galaxynote2root.com
Installed the Trev-E wifi tether app and it works fine.
Since I'm stock with no potential Sprint spyware removed I also installed Hotspot Shield VPN and run that prior to tethering (may not really make a difference)
Sent from my SPH-L900 using xda app-developers app
Download the MC2 rooted nodata, flash through Heimdall and then get the Trev-E Wifi Tether app.
Has everything you need.

[Q] tether w/o root?

Need some help. Have a work phone that I'd rather not root. Is there any way to get tethering to work after the latest update?? FoxFi worked before but now it is not working (blocked by AT&T). Also, Bluetooth and USB options are a no go because of the lack of permissions on the work laptop to install the pdanet client.
Do I have any other options?? I've looked around and everything seems to point to the answer being that you have to root the device. I was hoping for a non-root solution.
bump.
Anyone? Or is root my only option? I know a non-rooted stock ROM isn't really what XDA is about but I was hoping I would have something to test before having to root a work-owned phone.

moto z2 force, bootloader unlocked, stock T-mobile 8.0 not rooted question

As the title says, phone is not rooted yet. I'm on cricket running stock 8.0 trying to tether and hot spot but tells me i'm not setup for it and to contact the carrier. I was wondering how I can get around this?? If I root using Magisk would I then be able to tether??
Possibly,
If you are running the stock rom then the baked in tethering option will not likely work even with root access. If you root your phone however there are multiple tethering apps that you can get from the play store that will allow you to tether such as wifi tether router.
Hope this helps please hit the thanks button
