One of the pins broke off of the SIM connector whilst using a SIM adaptor and I was wondering where I might get a replacement? I have looked online briefly and I can't really find much replacement parts for this phone yet, unless I am looking in the wrong places?
I remember this happened to my SGS I-9000 and the part only cost like £5 from eBay and was modular so I am hoping this one will be as easy to replace too!
**UPDATE: It seems that unless you are an expert with a solder (and I mean expert!) then you will not be able to replace this part since it is soldered on to the circuit board rather than a modular part, so I am putting a list of places recommended by posters where you can get your G3 repaired.

Sorry to hear that I had a nano-sim to micro sim converter and that got stuck twice so I thought its not worth the risk and swapped it for a micro sim I am sure there are parts out there but as the phone is very new they may be hard to come by.

On a Google search, it seems that this is a common issue with these adapters, especially cheap ones, and other people have had the same problem too. I had figured too that due to the phone being new, there are basically no substantial source of spare parts that I can find as of yet..

Might be worth contacting this company to see if they can do anything for you in sourcing a G3 sim reader?
http://parts4mobiles.com/acatalog/Sim-Readers.html
Found this as well although they are expensive I guess it depends on how easy it is to repair.

The same happened to me (d855 32gb europe)...now the phone is on the repair center in Italy, but it will take 10 days to repair. I bought another one... The sim tray of the lg g3 is really terrible.

How much is it costing to repair? I bet it's only a £2 part which you could do yourself lol

They didn't tell me, but not less than 60 euro I think. At the moment is the only solution, we can't find spare parts by ourselves.

Yep - I returned mine last weekend. Picked up a new one today at Best Buy.

I wonder if someone has tried an LG G2 SIM connector off eBay or wherever and see if that one can be used since it wouldn't be more than £5/€5/$5?
I have the same issue with my D851.
Screw it, it's on eBay

You can try to claim from the actual store you bought it from rather than the LG warranty as that would be quicker but otherwise it's about a £45 repair from the sites that are offering it.
Actually, I never owned the phone but saw one on eBay that I was considering buying that had this fault but I really cannot understand why no one on here has bought the £5 LG G2 SIM part from eBay (as I had mentioned a month ago on here) to see if that one fits as if it doesn't work then you have not lost anything! That would have been the 1st thing I would have done if it happened to me as I am no way paying £45 for basically a ~50p part which I can just repair myself since all phones are modular these days.
....What kind of idiots own this phone?!

Well, I have mine on 2 year warranty and will try to get it fixed through the authorized service shop first. Will see how that goes. If it is too expensive I will search for alternatives.

Why is it not under warranty may I ask?
bcos i am in Qatar, and i was so frustrated so i opend the back panel and take out mother board and cleaned it with alchohel. My phone is still working but it is still rebooting on due to over heat.If you know the place where i can get the new board pls let me know..
I am in similar situation as yours. Random reboots and no warranty. I asked the local HTC service, and they told me they currently don't have any in stock, but are expecting them. When I asked about the approximate price, he said it will probably be 70-80% of the price of a new device. So, this sucks for both of us
I am thinking to use this device as little as possible, for as longest as possible, and then buy a new one from another manufacturer. I lost trust at HTC, this is my second HTC device - second one with huge problem.
maybe sell it on ebay, or try trading for something else here on the Marketplace?
worth trying.. at the moment I am trying to sell my Desire.. but no luck £230, anyone? perfect condition! (will ship anywhere!)
hope this helps!
mine is the same case here.. bought it in the UK now I'm in India. Searched on the net only to find it will cost $500, and at that price I can get a brand new Desire S.. So trying to sell it on ebay.. anybody interested?
Maybe try finding a Desire on eBay with a broken screen that you could take the mobo from?
Guessing that would work out cheaper than buying a new motherboard.
Hi Everyone,
I have DHD now and want to buy the 1X .. i'm having an issue as i'm in Canada and they only sell the Dual-Code 16GB model. I want to buy the Quad-Code- 32GB model.
looking thru ebay and found many of them, i'm affraid of the defects, specially no one post if it's HT23 or HT24 or whatever.
also concered about return it to HTC for replacement, they will accept it or not, or there is any paper need to send with it ...
so confused ... can anyone guide me please
Thanks
I would be the same as you, after all what is the reason for someone to sell these phones on ebay.
Have you not thought about buying one from a place like amazon or some place like it that sells new phones with guarantees.

Well honestly if you want to get the quad core model, get it from a reputable seller. This HTC One X seems pretty good. They ship worldwide too. But as long as your prepared to send it away if it does have defects then you are good to go. From what I've seen the units that came from china seems to be the one that has more defects compared to units that are made from Taiwan of Singapore. That seller on eBay gets his stock from Singapore.
PS
Always check their return policy before you buy.

Like you said contact the seller and ask them about replacement if the screen has a fault and what are their procedures of replacing the unit.
Do they have to send it away first for checking before they give you a new one? Ask them specific questions about your concerns. And if you're not happy then don't get one from them. Shop around and see who has the best return policy for faulty units.
you are not stuck with anything you buy if it isn't what you thought you were getting or expected for your money. buy it, and if it's not right, then get your money back. the only time you can't do that is if you bought something with cash off of a street corner. ;p
Hi all i think ive bought a duff note 2 my phone has 5gb internal memory, null imei, factory test mode is showing twice on start up,power button when pushed turns off the phone without any options,no imei sticker so all i can find is the serial number using root explorer... i opened up the phone and its missing the flexi cable antenna and has no where for the antenna flex cable to fit on to.. any ideas does anyone know how much a new motherboard would cost and where in the uk i can get one.. also if take this to a samsung repair centre how would i stand
anyone??
Where did you buy it from - give us a link.
And why don't you just return it?
Seriously I think you bought a fake Note (2). There are TONS of MADE IN CHINA copycat phones sold here in HK (most likely online and eBay listings). The exterior looks 95% exact as original Samsungs but when you turn it on, you can tell immediately with the low resolution of the display and the awful looking UI. They should be banning them for being sold....just like those fake LV/Gucci stuff. What a shame.
its deff a genuine note 2 the resolution on the screen is spot on and i can even flash firmwares, roms, root etc i was wondering if i have a prototype note 2 that was used for testing also i got the phone from ebay uk
why don't you just return it?
The person i got it from who was selling it on ebay doesn`t want to know.. this is a pic of the mainboard
pic 2
anymore info about my phone
Call Samsung and offer them their prototype back in exchange for a final release one.
Beamed from Jupiter on my Galaxy Note II
Theres someone else on ebay with the same phone as mine with 5gb internal memory and they are calling it a test model but when i phoned samsung they said they didn`t make test phones for the n7100 confused.com
You need to raise a claim with PayPal/eBay.... But first thing the seller will say is that you have opened the phone and any warranty with them is void
Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk (how ironic is that eh)
Did the seller say there was a problem with it?
If not it's not as described and you should raise it with eBay.
How much did you pay for the device?
it was for sale on ebay uk but like a idiot to save on postage i met up half way and swapped my new s3 for it so nothing ebay can do about it. did send the person who had it a message via ebay but he`s not interested..

How's everybody doing?
I'm looking to order an unlocked Z1 Compact either tonight or tomorrow and am wondering the best and most reliable sites to purchase from?
Also, I imagine I lose the Sony warranty with an unlocked Compact because it's not available in the US market right?
Is it a wise idea to buy a SquareSoft 2 year warranty from Ebay or Amazon? I've been trying to research them and am getting mixed results including a lot of complaints of them scamming and semi-scamming on claim attempts, but often the bad reviews and experiences are the loudest and most glaring.
Anybody have experience with any of the following re-sellers?
Negri Electronics
Wireless Everything(through Amazon)
Cells4U
Techno Trading House(through Ebay)
Never-MSRP(through Ebay)
Open to other suggestions of well of course, but I really need to get this in by say Monday, so not looking for any super long wait international shippers unless the price and reliability of the seller was superb, but even then any issues probably mean international return shipping on my dime so I'm a little sketchy on those options.
Sony won't sell them direct to US customers...
Thanks in advance guys, really excited to get this phone!
Expansys USA
Hands down the best site for us customers ...
I got 4 phones from them and all came in sealed
Box all accessories and US wall adapter....
I got mine from Amazon.com, seller My-Wish-List. No complaints. Not sure on warranty but I wouldn't expect much from Sony even if bought legitimately. I was counting on Amazon.com to back me up if the phone was DOA.

No doubt, hands down the best I've purchased from is Clove. I have purchased two phones from them, the first needed some repair, and they were very good about facilitating the process and getting it back to me. No need to look elsewhere.
Hi, here in Singapore,it actually sells for about 500USD so i would consider it a good bargain.
Thanks everybody. I ordered the phone about a half hour ago from Amazon, went with Wireless Everything.
Ordered a case, some tempered glass screen protectors and a cheap rubber case.
Think I might wind up with a Devil Case once they drop them for the Compact if it will fit over the screen protector.
Really excited to get this, I'm coming from a REALLY old phone that had died and came back to life so many times it was basically a zombie.

Good luck. You're going to love this phone. I have nothing but good to say about it. (except I see it's about $20 less now than when I ordered it)
What carrier are you on? I'm on T-Mobile and both H+ and LTE work perfectly.

I am also on T-Mobile. Been using a HTC G2 that was almost 4 years old before it perma-bricked about 2 weeks ago and have been using a BB Bold borrowed from a friend since then while I've been deciding what phone to go with and from where.
I ordered from Expansys Canada but the phone shipped out the States. When it came the box had been opened and a charger adaptor was included. Maybe should have gone through Amazon. Phone is working well but had to manually put the Rogers Canada APN in. Great phone though.

For what it's worth I contacted USA xperia support and asked them about this. They said that it doesn't matter if the unit is not available to purchase in USA, and that I have a 1 year warranty on my phone that would be honored in a sony usa service center. I have my doubts about the quality of the service but it sounds like at least we're not stuck with no warranty at all.

I have my Z1 compact in for repair at Sony, and they don't sell it in my country.
Sony said that they would repair it, but no guarantees on the turnaround time. It's usually 14 days. business days.
That's for phones that they repair all the time. They said that they may have to send the phone out to a diff repair center in another country.
I got a lemon where the Z1 would sometimes detected my sim, and sometimes not. Faulty sim card contacts in the phone or something like that.I'm chalking it up to bad luck.

Hello xda folks,
Has anyone bought any spare parts for their 10 and can recommend a site where to get them? UK/EU preferably import tax from the states really drives the price up.
I found a couple of places through google but no reviews on whether the parts received were actually any good.
I'm after a replacement battery, screen and possibly a back cover.
Thanks

Have a look at exe UK, they have a shop in Surrey I think and possibly you can send it in instead. I'm thinking of a new battery at some point but might wait until it gets so bad I can replace under warranty. Let us know how you get on, that company looks ok and I'd probably use them if I was out of warranty
