[Q] Sound Quality

I am running NXT light with the Advanced Kernel.
I have had people let me know that the sound quality is poor except when I am on either Bluetooth or speaker phone.
What effect's the sound quality of a call, the Kernel or the ROM?
I thought it could be a hardware issues but people hear me with out issue via speaker phone.

[Q] Distorted Audio Sound Custom Roms?

So is anyone experiencing distorted sounds after flashing a custom rom? Whenever I ask google now something and it does that chime duu ding, in between there is a distorted sound, also if I play music when there is bass, it becomes distorted. I flashed multiple roms and there is always a distorted sound which is annoying me like crazy, when i went back to a stock rom, it sounds normal no distortions, but then when i go back to a custom one, distortion , anyone know whats wrong?

samsung note korean shv-e160s 4.1.2
pls help this noob......
distorted audio
fixed!!!!
i have the same issue of distorted sound....
first i didnt believe that it is earphone socket because it was happen when im installing custom rom.
after several test the i found out that installing a custom rom and xloud is just a co-incidence of having a faulty earphone socket.
if u cannot replace ur earphone socket make a way to full up the second pin (from the top) of earphone jack like the way i do and your stereo sound with superbass(poweramp) will kick-in.

GS3 Liquid smooth rom. Speaker

I've been searching for an answer an can't find it?
Running Liquid Smooth v2.4 everything is practically flawless IMO, but my speaker volume is ridiculously low?
I've tried all sorts of things and nothing works.
When people have a problem with the speaker concerning this ROM
They seem to only complain about it being too loud?
Any suggestions as too boosting the volume?

Maybe audio that you're trying to play is just low.
What is it that the volume is low on?
Music? Video? Both?

Well ringer volume is fine. But any video playback volume is horrible. Watching YouTube or while recording a video I practically have to yell into the mic for any audio playback. Very weird?

Well that's odd. It may have to do with the ROM itself.
Have you changed anything on the ROM at all? System wise?

Only thing I have changed are the Status bar icons and my boot animation through "ROM Toolbox" other then that the ROM is stock

Hmm, the only thing I can think of then is a problem with the ROM itself.
Read through the liquidsmooth thread and check if anyone else is having the same problem as you, and if there is a fix.

You could try using the DSP Manager to blast up the EQ for all bands if you are using CM.
Here is volume hack. edit system/etc/snd_soc_msm/snd_soc_msm_2x file only.
Work great. i change headset, speaker, fm radio speaker vs.

[Q] Low mic volume on official nightly of cm11

When I talked to someone on phone. No matter what headphones I use. They say I sound very quiet through them and can't hear me. Any fixes?
I am in the same boat with the DU 4.3 rom. Anyone find an answer to this, could another kernel help?
Same here.
Bump, I have the same problem, mic is low for some reason and people can't hear me very well. Turning on speaker phone seems to fix it for me though. odd
low mic volume
hello there. I experience the same issue on cm11 ( same with cm10 , slimkat ) I tried the CM utility for maxim in call volume but that didn't boost the microphone.
All people complain they can barely hear what I say.
What is there to be done? I:crying:
must mention Boeffla Sound Control app again did not help and had no problem with the microphone on the 4.3 stock ROM on my S3.
Currently using, fresh install:
CM: 11-20140706-nightly-i9300
Android: 4.4.4
Baseband:i9300XXUGNA8
Kernel: 3.0.64-cm-g5e96596

I don't know if this is a general fix but I managed to solve it for the above mentioned rom.
I installed the CM10.1-10.2 vol_tweak.apk ( but this only didn't fix it on its own) and after rebooting modified HEADSET, SPEAKER, BLUETOOTH, USB/DOCK in DSP MANAGER
HEADSET:
Compression is enabled, Efect strength moderate, bass boost enabled Equalizer is enabled with vocal booster, loudness compensation is strongest, headset virtual room effect is set to large room
SPEAKER:
bass boost is on, effect strength is moderate. equalize is enabled with vocal booster.
BLUETOOTH
compression is enabled, effect is slight, bass boost is enabled, with moderate effect strength, equalizer is enabled, with vocal booster
USB/DOCK
Compression is enabled, effect is moderate, bass boost is enabled, with extreme effect strength, equalizer is enabled, with vocal booster , loudness compensation is disabled, room is set to large room.
Hope it will work for everyone with the same issue I had. If there is somebody who can better explain what the modified setting please reply
This is a known bug with all cm based 4.2 and above Roms. There is no fix for it, if there us I have yet to see or hear of it.
Theres one simple trick you can do to get the volume normal.
During your phone call press volume down then back up (just one tic) it should make the call volume much louder. It works on all cm11 based Roms.

Up until now I had no problem with the volume using the settings mentioned above. There is no need to push the volume button up&down.
