It needs to be 3845#*850# because its the D850 not the 855

My M7 had an option to switch from LTE auot to WCDMA/GSM Auto - no such luck on the G3?
LTE at work is so over saturated I get better speeds on WCDMA but I can't get my phone to switch besides doing the dialer method.

Tasker should be able to do this for you if the magic menu does not. You can even configure Tasker to automatically sense cell phone towers at work and convert to WCDMA, then auto-switch back to LTE once you are no longer in the vicinity of the cell phone towers. Just one of the many, many amazing and useful things Tasker can do for you.

Is your 4G working with Simple Mobile?

Hello,
Does anyone have Simple Mobile and there 4G is working. Mine is not
Simple Mobile is on T-Mobile and P930 doesn't have AWS UMTS/HSPA bands. So you will never get 4G on Simple.

So is this the same for 3G as well? Also would straight talk be supported?
I believe Straight Talk has 2 options, a T-Mobile-based SIM and an AT&T-based SIM. You would choose an AT&T SIM and you would be able to enjoy 3.5G (HSPA+), but no LTE.

No, the hardware just doesn't support it. Its not a software fixable issue.

I probably would have to wait until T-Mobile update their bands, which probably will never happen. But in the meantime, I'll be switching to straight Talk. Is 3.5G fast in a sense?

I live in an area where there is no lte and I use it every day with at&t. Works fine, not real fast, but not slow either

I have used both, lte in one town, 4G (3.5g) in the other and per speedtest there is no difference in download speeds usually around 6mb per second, however a huge difference in upload speeds 1.5m in 4G and almost 6m in the lte area. Of course your mileage may vary

Disable LTE to save battery?

I am not in an LTE market (yet), and I'm not likely to get LTE for another 3 months at least. If I switch from CDMA/LTE to CDMA in the Mobile Networks / Network mode settings, will I be saving battery?
Only one way to find out papi

I have read that you can expect minor improvements. That seems to be the consensus with Galaxy Nexus anyway.

Yes, not sure how much exactly, but turning off LTE will save battery.
The Sprint Zone app gives suggestions for saving battery life, and turning off LTE is one of them.
Someone said in another thread that it didnt make any difference. So, I dunno?
What about running in automatic mode?

If that was to me, my network settings menu has a 'automatic' setting.

Not positive it was related but my phone wouldn't boot after I changed it to CDMA from CDMA/LTE.

Issues with 4g

Okay all, I've got a T-Mobile M8 S-Off and Sim Unlocked using it on Straight Talk AT&T Sim. If I switch to LTE only I keep amazing 4G service but if I don't over half the time in the same area I'm on H. Any idea why this is? Is there a setting I'm missing somewhere that switches to H if the LTE goes below a certain strength? With my Nexus 5 I never lose it so I am wondering also since I can set it as 4g only and keep service (but can't call out on LTE only setting) All help is appreciated.

That's about a UK cable provider possibly getting service disrupted due to 4G rolling out? Not sure how that helps? Maybe wrong link?

Just to make sure we're on the same page here, are you using the *#*#4636#*#* menu? If so, which settings have you tried?
On my Sprint M7, we had a similar issue where it would work great with "LTE only" selected from the menu, but that would mean no calls or texts. "LTE, CDMA" would hold LTE longer than the default setting (CDMA + LTE/EvDo auto) and allow for calls/texts, but if we lost LTE, we'd be stuck with 1X data.
If you haven't yet, try the "LTE, WCDMA" setting.

Lte problem

I have the att variant of the m8 and I have to set my radio to wcdma only or my data is so inconsistent with dropouts that I can't use the phone. wcdma is very consistent and stable... But I also own an iPhone 5s and it has zero problems with a lte signal and it never drops. Is this a known issue with this phone? Wcdma is fine but obviously I'd rather be on lte... Its just in my area.... When I get close to a bigger city, lte works fine when I switch it back.

I think you've worked it out for yourself. With good coverage it works fine.
Maybe you are in a bit of a fringe area and the LTE signal drops in and out a bit?

am I on 4G or LTE?

Hi guys i'm wondering if i have the maximum speed from my provider (Rogers). I did some speed test.
2.89 mbps/0.8 and 12.2 mbps/0.8 mbps. I'm not sure if im on LTE or just 4G. I can't show you my homepage (I'm new can't post link) but I have the symbol 4G, not LTE like my iphone 5s
If you see only 4g symbol on rogers than its only 4g. Should be ltev on canadien devices.
And your speedtests tell me your on 4g.
Call rogers they will help you . maybe its error on there end if not go to setting/ networks and select lte gsm

You need to ckeck your network settings first to see if your network mode shows LTE or not.
