The glass goes all the way down to the bottom of the phone, anyone figured out if the digitizer extends that far or if it stops at the bottom of the screen? Just thinking that if it goes further it could be really handy...

Hey people!
Ive recently put the weight of a couch on the screen of my phone. My screen was already cracked from a previous drop but everything looked fine still.
After putting that much weight on my screen, half my screen is permanently black unless I put pressure near the bottom of my phone. It somehow releases the blackness temporarily.
My question is [Q] do I need to replace just the screen or did I screw up something else as well?
TIA
I have the same problem with my screen now. To fix it you need a new LCD. The cracked up front part is called the digitizer and you might as well replace them both together now. Only problem is to find out if you have a wide or slim LCD connecter cable and there's no way to tell until your phone is disassembled. Good luck!

Howdy, I'll try to make this brief:
Cracked my EVO screen. Phone worked perfectly otherwise, but it was time to replace the screen. Ordered a digitizer and tape from amazon and installed following several website tutorials (fairly easy task).
After replacing the digitizer, the top edge of the screen is receiving almost constant phantom clicks/presses, making the phone almost impossible to use. Figured I had gotten tape on that area of the screen, so I pulled the screen up, stripped away the tape that was anywhere near that area, wiped the area very clean, and resat the screen. Have done that twice, but still getting near-constant phantom clicks.
Wondering if anyone has experienced that & solved the problem? I'm starting to wonder if its a bad digitizer, or possibly a bad seating of the ribbon. I don't have any reason to think its the LCD, but maybe?!
Thanks,
Joe

Thats what it sounds like, you might have a defective digitizer,i would recommend returning it for a new one and see if that helps,if not it could be the ribbon wire, not getting a ground(good connection).
Maybe I'm just retarded, but I can't seem to find the setting to recalibrate my screen.
It's been slightly annoying me because I bought one of those fancy adonit styluses, (The ones witht he plastic disc, supposed to be more precise), and it works great, however when I turn on the "show touches" function, the touch from the stylus ALWAYS registers slightly towards the edge of the screen.
If I touch in the center of my screen the touch registers dead on, but the closer I get to the edge screen, the further off it gets.
I've noticed something similar on my tablet. But in my case, the best alignment when showing touches is in the upper left corner of the screen. As I move farther down, the touches start to come up slightly down and right of where the stylus is touching the screen.
So It's been a couple of weeks and Ive still yet to find a way to fix this slightly annoying accuracy issue. Does anyone know a way of doing so?

Try flashing ts-20 from sfnub's thread, works better for me
Hello,
I have a problem with the screen of my HOX. the top of the screen is a little bit detachable, like the glue doesn't work anymore. i can push it back but it still sticks like 1 millimetre out of the frame. this has been going on for a while without any problems, until now. around the middle of my screen ( a little bit lower then the micro usb plug ), the screen doesn't react to touches anymore, but it still displays like normal. it is only in the middle area, the top and bottom area of the screen functions normal. anyone has the same problem, or a solution?
Do you still have warranty? If it hasn't any marks of being dropped, you could give it a try.
Hi, I have an issue that has formed after glass replacement on my Note 2. I was extremely careful in trying not to damage anything during the replacement process and I did not use excessive heat either, keeping the screen under 170 degrees F to loosen the cracked screen. The issue is that about half the time the phone touch screen will stop working during normal use and then when I hit the lock button on the right side and then unlock the phone again it will be ok for a while before it acts up again. So far, I have done a soft and hard reset with no luck. I noticed the problem is worse when the 12 small screws in the back of the phone are very tight, I loosened them all a few turns and this helped it act up less. The pen always works. I installed a multi touch testing app and this proves that something is up because it sometimes reads fingers that arent there, generally in the middle of the screen and sometimes this programs just completely flips out and reads fingers everywhere. So at this point Im guessing that maybe the replacement glass is too close to the LCD? It also does seem to be negatively affected if I bend the whole phone slightly, this also sometimes causes the touch screen to flip out of just quit altogether. Any input is extremely appreciated!
Is there supposed to be anything between the glass and the lcd when the glass is replaced? Sorry if thats a dumb question.
