Hi all,
I would like to get the "Smart Actions" app (by Motorola) to my SGS2.
There is an option to run this app on my phone or a similar app?
Thanks ahead.
I believe Tasker might be your best bet. You can find it in the Market.

hey i know this an old thread but some users using search to get here might find it usefull
the "llama" app on playstore does wat smartaction does on motorolla. It uses ur cellular positioning to help maintain the profiles meaning less battery drainage
I know its early days and not many people have a Note Edge yet. I really hope someone can help me out on this when they do?
My Note Edge (Korean model), does not have the Twitter, Yahoo sports ticker or the yahoo news panels. This is very frustrating because I was really looking forward to these. I wonder once its available in the US, if someone would be able to extract these panels from their roms somehow?
Im stuck with some panels showing Koren information from a source called Daum.
By the way, there's a new panel available for download - its for the S Planner, I love it! It shows upcoming appointments. Only downside is that it will only show appointment the day.
Same boat. In Korea... Daum ticker.
Hopefully something changes
Yeah, waiting for something to change soon. :fingers-crossed:
Well i have my phone but the problem now is root.
I wont be able to pull the ticker from my phone without rooting it first. I would try to note 4 method but i dont wanna be the first to try it lol.

Thanks for even considering, mate. I wouldn't expect you to start messing with a phone you just purchased for huge amount of money.
I might try to root mine if there are some step by instructions. I am just not very familiar with rooting since I haven't done one for ages.

Ok root explore has access to the system, but its in read only mode. So i can copy that, just not sure what the edge panel apk is called. Ill check it out later on tonight and see if i can find something
Then maybe for the time being it can resign it and able you to install it as a apk vs system apk.
Not sure its been a while since i done that.

For what it's worth when I had the Docomo version of the edge I rooted via some Japanese dev sites that got it done very quickly. And to add custom recovery I was able to use my own tmobile TWRP file and it added custom recovery no problem. So I'm sure it's a very similar process because they basically same sans the edge screen

I tried that explorer after your message I could see the Cocktail Ssysrem apk but it doesn't list any individual widgets. (Image attached).
Phone is full of sk telecom apps.
Why did bloody Samsung or sk telecom put these useless Daum ticker panels on the phone I got??? Why couldn't they just leave the Yahoo panels on it???
How do I get hold of these panels???
you're really not missing anything with the twitter app it only shows trending terms with it had your timeline

I think it's something called Cocktail bar apk. I posted a screenshot on page 1. I'm not 100% if the edge panel apps are there though?
Thanks.
I'll be rooting mine and perusing for you guys later
Can someone please create another quick access panel? I have the AT&T version, and it would be great to have another quick access panel.

i have a korean 915k anyone knows how to delete those korean panel ?
The G3 had a secret menu that allowed you to change some build.prop properties or with an editor. You could simply allow dual screen on all apps which isn't allowed stock.
I edited a lot of the G3 environment through build.prop. Is there something similar for Samsung devices? Not sure if it's on all devices or not.

Not sure about deleting unless you have root access.
I am not rooted yet. I have disabled these panels in my 915S.
The apk you need to disable is 'portalservicewidget' this under the application manager > All.
If you want to disable the useless quick access panel than disable the Live UX apk.

Has anyone found useful edits within it yet for the edge?
As above. I'm looking to disable the cover on my phone if possible? My main reasoning is that I have ARUnchained on my phone with Tasker set to fully automate the process of connecting my phone to it on Chromecast. Currently the only limitation I have of leaving the phone in my pocket is that the quick circle case being closed stops it from working (keeps the screen off). I'm running AOSP 5.1.1 rooted.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Download "Link2SD or Titanium backup" from playstore & then freeze "LgSmartCover".
Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately I don't see LgSmartCover. I'm guessing it's because it's a pure Nexus ROM rather than an LG G3 specific one with the loader?
All that happens when the cover closes is the screen shuts off and locks. There is no Quick Circle install or anything like that.
Thanks
Just go to definitions and simply disable it?

Definitions, general, and on smart functions disable quick circle case and it won't lock the phone when you close it
I still don't know what you're talking about. Do you mean in titanium backup? I don't see any definitions?
Additionally, are you keeping in mind that I'm on an AOSP ROM and not an LG variant? The quick circle case doesn't function as per the stock ROM, it simply puts the phone to sleep in the custom versions.
Thanks for your help, and patience

Hi there,
I think you are misunderstanding. I don't have an LG G3 ROM in the phone. I effectively have a Nexus ROM in my phone (Vanilla Rom) so I don't have the standard Quick Circle workings, apps, or any of that stuff. The port of the ROM allows the cover to turn the screen off, I'm looking to disable this.
Thanks anyway.
Ah ok sorry then
Try to navigate to /system/priv-app and delete LGCover(make a backup!)

Don't have LGCover. As said, it's a AOSP ROM.... not an LG one. There are no LG apps, plugins, skins, front ends, back ends or any other stuff. It's all ported nexus.
Hi,
i've tried to do a few searches but can't find anything about SHOWING the soft keys all the time.
See the thing is, this phone is for the mother-in-law and she's 71 so it needs to be as simple as possible. She wants to play games like temple run but doesn't understand the concept of swipe the top to get the home button to show up so I'd like to have the bottom bar always visible, even in immersive mode.
Any ideas please?
Cheers
I should probably include that it's stock 14.6.A.0.368 (this probably needs updating, but I'm looking for how to do that at the moment and confusing myself lol) and is rooted.
Xposed module 'App Settings' - go to the app you want, full-screen>prevent. I think you have to do it for each one. You probably can force it across the board with build prop, but I think the other way is best.
I can cope with that... Is there an easy guide for my firmware version to install xposed? I don't want to brick it again lol
Cheers

Flash this in recovery - http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=3580244&d=1450386592 Then install this apk - http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=3383776&d=1435601440 Then open Xposed app and go to 'download' and search for 'app settings'. Note that the first boot after flashing the zip will be long and finish with 'optimizing apps' dialog, which will take several minutes. Make sure your battery level is good.
Always a good idea to backup first.

Oh yeah, and any time you install a new module in Xposed, it won't be active until you reboot.
Absolutely smashing, thanks. I've flashed the zip and now I'm waiting for it to load up, then I'll install the apk and find the module.
Cheers
Unfortunately that didn't work Things like Temple Run still go full screen and the navigation bar disappears.

Strange... Is the module working in general? Did you check the box in 'modules' screen in Xposed? I tested it on several apps and it was good...
I don't think so... It's ticked and I've rebooted and all that. The Adblocker module I found is working fine. Strange.
Perhaps I'm missing something. Any suggestions please? lol!! It's winding me up big time :/

Did you find the right options OK in the 'app settings' app, (full screen>always)?
Yeah, the options are there but no go.
Apologies for the delay. I've been away for the weekend.

Are you sure? Reading the description that seems to do the opposite to what I want?
I want the navigation bar to be visible even in full screen mode. The girlfriend's mum can't grasp the concept of swipe to show the navigation and she keeps forgetting when we tell her, so by having it always visible we remove that obstacle

There's a 'blacklist' function which you can apply to chosen apps. I can't say if it will work on your specific game or not. The Xoosed module I mentioned works great for me with Camera, but I guess it didn't work for your game. I think with play store you can return a purchase within 15 minutes or something...
Don't know how I missed that. I'll give it a bash, Many thanks!
That didn't work either unfortunately

Well, after some reading, it seems clear that it is coded into the programming, and you'd have to rewrite the ROM to entirely disable it. From app to app, you probably could decompile and mod the apk so it doesn't call on the function. I did read that Gravity Box from Xposed has an immersive mode toggle, but I can't test it, since GB doesn't work on CM ROM. Check that out.
Thanks for your help so far. I tried GB but it didn't work either. Bloody annoying.
Perhaps another approach would be double tap the power switch to return home? Do you know if something like this exists please?
Thanks again for all the input and suggestions so far.

Hey I just discovered UDN (ultimate dynamic navbar). Install it, go to ssettings>general>special modes. Check 'toggle mode' and uncheck 'hide on outside touch'. The navbar will never go away. The only problem is that it sits Right there over anything else, blocking whatever you might want to touch down there, so maybe not a total fix. How eve, there's also more configurations you can mess with that might at least be an improvement.

I think I tried that as well, but like you say, it gets in the way. It got in the way and I didn't look any more into it. I'll give it a go and look more at it when I get home from work. Cheers.
Hello everyone. Good morning guys, We already know that it is not possible to completely remove the status bar without root or through third party programs. It's really frustrating that you use apps or games with a dark bar at the top and you can't enjoy the full screen. Samsung really is very dumb not to give the user the option to choose how they want to use their own phone. So I'm seriously thinking about rooting the device, but I wonder if it's really possible to hide the bar in root mode.
thank you all for your attentionIs
