AOSP Browser - G3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Does anyone know a way to get the AOSP Browser on the G3?
I ask because I like using the APW bookmarks widget but it doesn't put folders in there for chrome.
Any suggestions?
Edit: I should mention that a non root method would be preferable.

Firefox bookmark widget?

is their a widget that displays firefox bookmarks for the homescreen or a way to allow firefox bookmarks from the bookmark widget in launcherpro plus?
You can download visual bookmarks from the market, which should display them for ya right nicely.
Nice! Ill check it out now. Thank you!

No problem man.
I'm not sure what the feelings are on reviving such an old topic but I have been wondering exactly this and, after following the advice google so kindly showed me, I was loathe to discover the current visual bookmarks explicitly states that it displays the bookmarks from the stock browser (this was confirmed when I installed to try it). So, are there any widgets to display firefox bookmarks?
To add a bookmark icon on desktop
This is the kind of widget I was looking for and Firefox does it out of the box!
Just hold click in the link bar and and Firefox proposes you to add a link on your home screen. Actually this is all I want, and works perfectly adding even a nice icon!

Stock Browser Question

I've been using third party browsers such as Dolphin HD and XScope for quite awhile. I decided to give the stock Gingerbread browser a try. I set my homepage to Google Search but can't figure out how to navigate back to my browser homepage. I can get there by pulling up my bookmarks but is there an easier way? I don't see a home bottom on the browser anywhere.

Browser question

How can I get a browser that I can change the user agent, and not lose all my bookmarks? AOSP worked fine for me on my note1.
I use ICS Browser + to have a dedicated "desktop" browser, plus the thumb controls are great. It pulls bookmarks like the stock AOSP ICS browser. I started using it on my TouchPad, but use it every once in a while on my phone when chrome won't request desktop view.

Ill try it, thanks. I have a ton of bookmarks I don't want to lose, but I use desktop almost exclusively.
Going to try this...brb.

Missing native broswer

I flashed .67 then rooted. Somewhere in the mix I lost the native browser! I would use chrome and move on but chrome isn't allowing me to add bookmark links to the home screen....which is key for me. Anyone know how the native one got hosed?
Chrome is the default browser. Did mean the old stock android "Browser"?

Are you sure?? Chrome lets me add a widget with direct links of my choosing to any screen. Looks exactly like the native browser widget with the only difference being the Chrome sign in the lower right corner.

Thanks all. I meant that in stock form the ZL had a chrome icon and another browser that had a blue globe as an icon. They seemed to be different in the way the operated.
I did figure out how to do the home screen link. It won't offer it if you are in the "star fav's" view of the bookmarks, while the normal bookmark view enabled it. Is there any advantage to the stock android browser? That must be what I thought was the "Sony" browser.

Huh, my ZL never came with android browser, only chrome.
Afaik Chrome is just about better than the stock browser in every way, atleast on the ZL.

[Q] Problem with Chrome not being saved as default browser

Quick question.... Chrome is not being 'remembered' as my default browser. So if I use for example Google's widget for internet favourites. Every time it requests me to select a browser. (Chrome or Samsung's stock browser). It never remembers the option even though I set chrome as default.... Anyone else having this issue. Anyway round this? Obviously if won't let me disable the stock browser.
HI Andy,
Did you ever figure this out?
