No problem man.
I'm not sure what the feelings are on reviving such an old topic but I have been wondering exactly this and, after following the advice google so kindly showed me, I was loathe to discover the current visual bookmarks explicitly states that it displays the bookmarks from the stock browser (this was confirmed when I installed to try it). So, are there any widgets to display firefox bookmarks?
To add a bookmark icon on desktop
This is the kind of widget I was looking for and Firefox does it out of the box!
Just hold click in the link bar and and Firefox proposes you to add a link on your home screen. Actually this is all I want, and works perfectly adding even a nice icon!

Hi.
I was looking for a widget that displays your bookmarks as thumbnails right on the screen. Found two - Live Bookmarks and Visual Bookmarks.
The first does it's job alright - it updates bookmarks as I change them, though it doesn't display them right on screen - first you have to click on the icon.
The second, however it looks just as it shuold, does a crappy job when it comes to settings. It doesn't refresh my b-marks properly, and settings doesn't really work the way I set them to be.
Do you happen to know any other app that might do the job I need done?
Or maybe you could make one?
Regards,
Wojput
So this is a very quick and easy way to use your chrome bookmarks you've carefully collected on your computer but now your chrome browser ducks and is laggy. I have been looking for a way around most browsers not sure syncing chrome bookmarks for a while and I stumbled on this just today. So turns out if you have a second browser, for me it's dolfin mmm so smooth, and you place the Google Chrome bookmark widget on one of your pages, click one of your bookmarks, then it actually asks you which app you want to open this with and you can then of course default it to your browser of choice and just like that you can have a all your bookmarks at the ready for any browser
Another option is to export Chrome Bookmarks as HTML file (from your PC), put it on your SD card, and access it with: file:///storage/sdcard0/xxxxbm.html (or whatever path). Then create a screen link to that bookmark. Click the link and browser opens to your bookmarks. The HTML file is also easily edited in your explorers html viewer (or on a PC). "Most" browsers support the file:/// access (except Chrome).

Does anyone else use this browser? I just discovered it today and I'm loving it so far. You're able to customize everything from toolbar buttons to the color of the layout. It has 'in tab' history and you can create website shortcuts on your home screen. The quit options are pretty detailed too but I think the most useful function is 'Restore Tab'. Another plus is the ability to take a picture of the whole page, not just what you're currently looking at. Only downside is it doesn't support gesture typing and there are ads in the history and bookmark pages, but I think those can be overlooked seeing as you're able to customize everything to fit your desire.

I flashed .67 then rooted. Somewhere in the mix I lost the native browser! I would use chrome and move on but chrome isn't allowing me to add bookmark links to the home screen....which is key for me. Anyone know how the native one got hosed?
Chrome is the default browser. Did mean the old stock android "Browser"?

Are you sure?? Chrome lets me add a widget with direct links of my choosing to any screen. Looks exactly like the native browser widget with the only difference being the Chrome sign in the lower right corner.

Thanks all. I meant that in stock form the ZL had a chrome icon and another browser that had a blue globe as an icon. They seemed to be different in the way the operated.
I did figure out how to do the home screen link. It won't offer it if you are in the "star fav's" view of the bookmarks, while the normal bookmark view enabled it. Is there any advantage to the stock android browser? That must be what I thought was the "Sony" browser.

Huh, my ZL never came with android browser, only chrome.
Afaik Chrome is just about better than the stock browser in every way, atleast on the ZL.
I'm trying to use the bookmark widget. I place the widget on a screen and get the Choose a Bookmark box but the box is empty. I do have Bookmarks in Chrome. Any ideas how I can fix this? Thanks.
A lot of people seem to be having the same problem, me included. I found a minor fix for it but it's still a bit annoying.
If you want to add a bookmark to the home screen then first find chrome in Google Play and uninstall the updates. Now you should be able to add bookmarks to your home screen, when you have added all the bookmarks you want you can reinstall the latest chrome updates. Being able to add bookmarks still doesn't work but you have the bookmarks you placed already.
Thanks. That workaround should be good enough.
