[Q] Are Quick Controls in LG stock browser? - G3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I was at the AT&T store today during my lunch break playing around with the new G3. I've been using HTC phones for the last 6 years or so, and I've become accustomed to the Quick Controls option in the stock browser. I couldn't find it in the stock G3 browser. Did I miss it, or is it not there? If not, do you have any suggestions on similar browsers in the Play Store that have the same option (non-root)?

[Q] Control Google Play Music on my tab from my phone

Hi all,
I wonder if anyone can offer any suggestions on this.
I have a Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) and a Galaxy S3
I play music with Google Play Music on my tab, and I want to be able to control it (change track, playlists, etc) from my phone.
Both Android, both Samsung, same application. Surely there must be something out there that can do this.
Essentially I want to use my phone as a remote control.
Ive looked, and I cant find anything, short of installing an ugly VNC connection on the tab.
If not, has anyone ever considered looking into it?
Thanks
Howie

[Q] Help explaining flash player......

I'm on Jovy's stock rooted 4.3 and loving it. A few weeks ago I picked up an LG G Pad 8.3 tablet. It's awesome! But it won't play flash content, specifically when using Chrome. I've searched XDA and it seems Chrome is not compatible with Flash Player. But my S4 plays it just fine. Even in Chrome. I can go to the exact same site and click the same video link on both the S4 and the G Pad using Chrome browser. The S4 plays immediately where as the G Pad will give me an error message about needing Adobe Flash and that my device is not compatible with it. What is different with our S4? What is actually playing the video if Chrome is supposedly not compatible with flash? The G Pad is on stock rooted 4.2.2 and the S4 is stock rooted 4.3.

Whats different is the UA (User-Agent) String. The website might be seeing the S4 as a mobile device, and using a different website HTML file. Where the tablet is detected as normal browser. When you say you are watching flash on the S4, you are more than likely watching an HTML5 version or similiar, of the video. Chrome does NOT support flash. If you wanna stream videos to your tablet, I highly recommend Dolphin Browser. I use it on my TF300T and have zero issues watching my videos.

Aah, that makes sense. Appreciate the explanation. I'll give Dolphin a try, but I like keeping the same browser across all my devices and keeping them synced. May have to try discovering what is being read by each device and getting them to match some way. Thanks!

[Q] Error on Youtube-App

Hi guys,
Please check out this pic:
When not in fullscreen mode I always get these screen-errors on youtube videos.....changing to fullscreen cures it, but what' s the reason for that? Any ideas welcome...
G pad 8.3 unrooted and running on Kitkat 4.4.2
Thanks....
No ideas, anybody?
I have good news and bad news.
Good news is that you are not alone, I get the same gray tearing issue on some, not all, youtube videos when viewing via chrome.
Bad news is that I have no idea how to fix it or why it happens. I've noticed that some videos don't present this issue and other do.
Like you have been doing, I've simply been forcing those videos to full screen. Clearing the chrome and youtube app data to give the apps a "fresh start" doesn't seem to help.
My theory is that there is something slightly different about the encoding/compression of some videos and Chrome doesn't like it when they play embeded via HTML5. Strangely this does not happen on my phone.
I've also seen the gray tearing in the youtube app once, but can't reproduce the issue.
LG G Pad 8.3 LTE KK 4.4.2 (Verizon Stock Rooted)
Moto X KK 4.4.4 (Verizon Stock Rooted)
Well, yeah....the only thing for certain that I can say is hat it is not browser dependant.....it happens in all the usual browsers, but as yet not in that yourtube app....
Doesn't bother too much, but it gets on my t*ts

[Q] chrome laggy and play store not working

Got the T-Mobile m9. Why is google chrome so laggy when scrolling up and down pages?
Play store tells me to log in but it's supposed to automatically right?
And sense home always quits when in the themes app.
Any idea please how to fix?
I'd use the HTC Internet browser from the market, as Chrome is just laggy. This phone is laggier though than the M7 and M8 browsing the Internet so prepare for that if you've used either of those, but don't worry if you've used a Samsung as it's faster than that.
As for google play store, i'd clear data on the app in the app manager and see if that solves it
Sense home issue is a mystery but try uninstalling any updates and installing them again, and if you can stomach losing your desktop icons, theme, font's etc, clear data on the themes app / htc home app too.
I find Chrome very laggy too. I switched to Opera which seems better. Not sure if it's something to do with the 810.
Thanks.
How can I import from chrome to the HTC browser?
Also why are all games crashing on my m9 alot? Ideas? Didn't have it this bad on my s5. Thinking to return my m9.
And the HTC keyboard is horrifically swift key is too. Samsung for me has the best by far.

New user here. Installed Google now launcher, but apps have limited functionality

Hi! Just bought this phone because it's just too cheap and has decent specs. Actually, bought 2 of them, they were about 70$ each, with some 15$ extra headphones bonus
Phone came with Fire OS 4.6.3. Managed to install Google services and store, Google now launcher and make default with Home Switcher(listed as "incompatible" in Play store, had to sideload it...many other apps are "incompatible"). That was problem number one...
After that, installed Youtube app, which works, but 360p only and no cardboard option(360 vr videos). Installed iYTBP(modded youtube app) and videos work at higher resolution(720p default) but still no VR. Also default app player doesn't work well.
Installed Facebook and seemed ok, but videos open in browser and don't autoplay in app. I understand whatsupp has problems playing videos...
All these seem to happen because phone is not really known to the apps and they run in "simple" mode.
Is there any way to make apps think it is another phone that they "know" has enough hardware to run them fully? Because it really has...the soc is still strong enough and gyro is there. I will try my best to keep it as stock as possible for warranty reasons(2 years...)
Stumbled across some post where someone said you have to modify build.prop, I think, but can't find it anywhere. Of course, I would need to root it first...
Any more tips welcome, this is best buy for 70$ + bonus and it's really selling well around Romania right now, it seems.
As a side note, battery life seems ok, I got around 5h SOT without sim first day of use, gestures and sensors enabled and Google launcher.
For those other newbs, this site is useful to a point: http://spinyourfire.com/. Home switcher app is attached here, as it does not show up in Google play for this phone.
Google now works fine for me, including wallpapers and widgets and seems to have full functionality.
Thanks!
