Maybe simple, maybe not.
Basically I have text that says "Good Morning, it is 2:34 PM"
I want the word "Morning" to change with a conditional statement so that it reads "Morning" between 12:00a and 11:59a, "Afternoon" between 12:00p and 4:59p, and "Evening" between 5:00p and 11:59p. My system is set to a 12hr clock. I've been toying with it for a while and have come up short. Any advice?
Thanks in advance.
Its's simple if you know how
Use this as your text
Code:
Good $#DH#>=0&&#DH#<12?Morning$$#DH#>11&&#DH#<17?Afternoon$$#DH#>16?Evening$, it is #DKK#:#Dmm# #Da#

does anyone know where i can score the apk for this bad boy? i played with it in the new froyo port (very nice job) and i want it now. thanks in advance.
I use a widget called "LED Light" from the markplace, has the same look and feel as the HTC 4G, Wifi, etc widgets.. not sure if that's what you meant or not.
if you downloaded Avas (or Heros i believe) sense 2.2 ROM, you can grab the apk out of the zip.

yeah, i have that one now too but once you try the HTC Flashlight app you will see why i want it so bad.
Thanks for the suggestions, that app works great!
If someone pulls the apk, would they mind linking it here? That would be particularly nice of them .

Thanks much! Dropped it into dropbox, now let's see how it works.
EDIT: Not bad, but I think that I still prefer beamwidgets.

oh, momma. i am excited.
My favorite is LED Desire Light. It has the brightest setting I've seen so far, and can even transmit messages via the flash light in morse code. In case.. you know... you are trapped somewhere and can't make calls.... and can...
Ahh forget it. Anyways, it comes with a widget. Tap for on, tap for off. I love it.

Touche good sir...
App works awesome, love the interface
I am getting an error on my EVO when I try to install the apk that this is not supported.
OK got it. Missed step to use Astro to install it. Great app!
just installed led desire light and the flashlight.apk
definitely cool to have multiple levels of brightness. And of course, you know that morse code ability will come in handy one of these days....
please mod a few things on stock mms
i mean to say add a little extra stuff-
1. password protect for individual thread
2. blacklist
3. private sms box
4. sms scheduler
thanks

You didn't ask a "tough" task...
You asked for the App to be rebuilt from the ground up, you can't just "add" features to an existing application with ease... It would be like asking your car mechanic to "just" change the engine in your car to get more power... Sure, it can be done, but you have to figure out if the rest of the parts work with what you want to put in.
Glad you found your solution none the less.

Hey guys, I was just wondering if anyone knew of a good app for unlocking the tablet while connected to your home's WiFi? To be clear I would still like a lockscreen, but be to have it that when I leave home it goes back to being pin protected. I tried tasker but it can only disable the lockscreen completely, and while I would settle for that, I was wondering if anyone here knew of a solution! Thanks
Easy to do with Tasker. Best money you will spend if you dive into it. You can make your devices do anything you want.

I couldn't figure out how to make it only unlock but leave my lockscreen there (like it doesn't go straight to home screen when I press unlock button) do you know if that's possible ? I looked around rather quickly because if it didn't have it I wanted to be within refund period :S
Check out this link http://howto.cnet.com/8301-11310_39-57478334-285/the-most-practical-creative-ways-to-use-nfc-with-your-android-device/ . Came across it on FB and just watching the vid showed some of the possibilities for the NFC chip and I think it will do what your looking for.
Seems interesting.. I think the main problem is that disabling security and and leaving lockscreen is not an option sadly so like, it's all or nothing :/ I could live with that I suppose haha but kinda sucks
Have you seen this app? It does exactly as you want and works great, I've had it, and its great

it doesn't support patterns, the only lock I use. PINs and passwords are too slow to enter every time.
Try "Settings Profile" on the app store. Similar to tablet but much easier to use. I use it to do exactly what you describe.

I'm going to treat myself to some NFC tags to see if that will do it
Edit: I knew I'd seen something somewhere http://lifehacker.com/5829514/unloc...om-tedious-phone-passwords-when-youre-at-home
Edit: ^^ its up there. Sorry guy.

OT : it's it more powerful than Tasker?

It's basically a bunch of Tasker tasks already programmed. Taller is more powerful, but harder to learn.

Greetings.
How to display "today" in the calendar events? I've tried $(#C0DD#-#DD)#=0?Today:#C0EE#$ from the Zooper tips and tricks but it seems like #C0DD# doesn't work anymore.

This should work
Code:
#C0SddMM#=#DddMM#?Today:#C0EE#$
. The code you used was probably meant to read $(#C0SD#-#DD)#=0?Today:#C0EE#$ because I don't think C0D ever existed as a tag. In that version it should also work

Well, you've also skipped not dollar like S in #C0EE#. It took a while to figure out why my days are not that correct as they supposed to be.
Is there a way to hear a notification that you've received an incoming text message while on a call? This was definitely an option on my last phone, the Motorola Droid 4, but I have not been able to find a setting to accomplish this on the HTC One M8.
If there's not a setting on the phone that allows for this, does anyone know of a good app that will do this?
Thanks!
You will need to use an app, try SMS Popup.

Thanks very much. I will check it out. Looking at the description and screen captures briefly, it looks like it's a lot more than I need, but perhaps I can disable a lot of the functionality, or perhaps I'll find I prefer it to what I'm using now. I'll definitely install it and give it a shot. Thanks!

I did wind up installing SMS Popup, but I couldn't get it to do exactly what I wanted it to do, and even with settings on it or my texting app set to their minimal notification settings there were still both inconsistency issues and also issues with me seeing double notification icons, etc., as there was no way to turn off icons on both apps. But most importantly I'm fairly certain that the sound this app would have played to notify me of the incoming text while on a call would have been my default sound, which is not what I'm looking for. So while I do very much appreciate the suggestion thejosh86, I'm wondering if anyone has any other ideas?
The sound I'm looking for was the soft tone that you could hear during a call but that the person on the other end of the call could not hear. It was not a ringtone or anything played through the phone's regular speaker. Having done some more searching it appears that this may have been an option removed at the operating system level in some android OS update. But surely there must be people like me who want this functionality and programmers out there who have written something to accomplish the same thing, no?
