Hey guys,
I am trying to get my Galaxy S3 working on the Freedompop network with BYOD.
I flashed to stock firmware:
MD4_update_FULL_Odex.zip
because the MSL code (##786#) that I was supposed to use to reconfigure the radio to Freedompop's network, did not work in CyanogenMod.
In the stock firmware, the code worked, and I got cellular data and voice. However, when I flashed back to CM, the Sprint icon is orange, and I don't have data connectivity any more.
This is the version of CM I flashed to:
cm-11-20140708-SNAPSHOT-M8-d2lte.zip
Any ideas for what could be wrong?

Same with Carbon, but in carbon if the preferred network is 3G, or 1x, it will connect to those networks but it will not connect to LTE. I also noticed that in carbon it connects to LTE and 1xRTT instead of LTE and 1x800. Also does anyone know any possible way to go to 4.1.2 stock (from stock 4.4.2 KK)? I am also on FreedomPop btw.
Found A Fix
I searched a bit and found a fix, that didn't work at first but worked if you use it a specific way. It's the APN causing the issue. This was found out by user Merudo here on XDA. The fix is to do this:
1. Download a Ting APN fix .zip
2. Go on the ROM with working LTE (stock) and take it's apns-conf.xml (it's in /system/etc/) and copy it to the computer
3. Replace the apns-conf.xml in the Ting APN fix
4. Copy to phone with ROM and Gapps
5. Flash it in right after you flash your rom and gapps (e.g. 1st flash your rom then gapps then the APN fix)
6. Reboot and setup and it should work.
Again Kudos to Merudo for figuring this out.
Anyone get note 3 working on here? I'm on boost now with on 3g.. wondering if I can flash just a uicc card to freedom pop lte??

I have a unlocked AT&T S3 I747 well im having issues getting my data the first rom was CM10.2 android 4.3.1 an that rom was having major data issues and didn't even have Metro PCS LTE listed under access point names so then I flashed CM11 android 4.4.2 it has Metro PCS LTE listed under access point names and does get constant data however very terribly slow maybe 0.15mb I did get the phone to let me switch the CDMA subscription from NV to RUIM/Sim once an it had very fast data but that setting didn't stick after reboot and will not let me pick that option again I really need some help I have been dealing with this data issue for 2 days its driving me crazy!!! please help

I now went back to a stock version of android 4.3 with root but this actual Rom I really like and the phone is showing up as T-Mobile and calling out/receiving calls and text work fine but still no data at all... heres what the download of the Rom now shows up as d2att_I747UCUEMJ2_root4.3_noknox.tar.MD5
anyone?? I think if I could get in to edit my apn I would be fine but the phones saying insert Sim card to access mobile networks when I goto more networks but like I said the phones working fine jus no data
I think I fixed my data issue by flashing a new modem thatnks to this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1831898
I tried flashing a custom ROM for the first time last night and so far I am really loving it. The only problem is, after flashing the CM11 M7 ROM it wont access any data over the cell network. I did figure out that if using Titanium Backup I restore my stock ROMs 4.3 data only from the Phone/Messaging Storage (SMS/MMS/APN) then reboot the network data does work. However, this causes the SMS to cease functioning. As soon as any app (default messenger, hangouts, 2-3 others I tried from store) tries to open it immediately crashes. Interestingly, it also will not allow me to restore my SMS records using Super Backup at this point. If I go back into Titanium backup then wipe the data for this process then the SMS starts working again, but all the old messages have been cleared, and as soon as I restart the phone the Network data is not working again.
Any ideas on what to do? I am wondering if maybe I need to adjust something in my APN profile, though I have absolutely no idea where I would get the information to do this.
This is what I am working with:
Phone: Samsung Galaxy S3 i747 (AT&T) -- [though currently I am using a TIGO sim card in Guatemala, wonder if this could have anything to do with it? was not a problem prior to switching the ROM though]
ROM: cm-11-20140608-SNAPSHOT-M7-d2lte.zip , the Cyanogenmod CM11 Snapshot lte release from yesterday
Android Version: 4.4.2
Baseband Version: I747UCUEMJB
Kernel Version: 3.4.91-cyanogenmod-g9b9605b8 [email protected] #1
Anyways, only having one or the other of my network data vs sms working is not really an option for me, so need to figure something out.
Thanks!

I apologize in advanced for not answering your question.
Is your issue that you cannot even get a signal with CM installed? I am also having the same issue.
Did your phone get signal/mobile network with the stock ROM? I am unable to find out if mine will work right now because it would take me a few days to download the stock ROM image...
Will be following this thread...
Mike
Have you checked that the APN on your phone is the right one for your carrier? Google search apn tigo guatemala galaxy s3 Many useful results will come up.
Ok here is how this played out. I did just need to reset then re enter the apn info for tigo in Guatemala. I actually managed to pull this info out of my pre flash backup from when I was using the stock Rom, then wipe the data for the process mentioned. This restored sms functionality and I then was able to manually enter the apn info (if anyone needs the Guatemala tigo apn info just post here and I can grab it when I am next at my cpu). I find it interesting that the apn info was automatically present and correct when I was using the stock Rom, but when I flashed cm11 over it was not there.
Just arrived back in the US and popped in my AT&T SIM card, everything worked fine right off the bat with it.
In answer to your question, after flashing cm11 I did have signal, but only for calls and sms. The data component of the network was not recognized.

Hello,
Just bought s Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note II SPH L900 and loaded SuperUser + CWM Recovery + GAPPS + Snapshot M9 and now Phone Info shows
Android Version - 4.4.4
Baseband - L900VPUCNE2
Build - cm_l900_userdebug 4.4.4 KTU84Q
PRL 2026
I have service thru. RingPlus hat uses Sprint network. Their user name that they use with sprint is like
[email protected] .
I am unable to connect to any data network now and I have also lost the UPDATE NETWOR and/or UPDATE PRL options that used to be in Stock ROM for SPH L900. Can somebody help me explain how do I update the PRL and Data Services on this phone. Even the ##DATA# or ##MSL# etc. . do not work anymore. I'm not getting any 3G/EVDO/LTE/4G or any other data services on it.
Please help me get data on this phone.

Thanks.. OK.. did that. Reverted back to stock NE2 and still no data. I'm on ringplus which is a MVNO with Sprint. Tried doing all ##MSL#, ##DATA#, ##SCRTN#, ##786# etc.. combos but nothing worked. There's a special Ringplus related APN file in zip format containing the XML file that has APN entries for Ringplus but I don't know how to load that into stock. I tried putting in the entries manually but it doesn't really work that way and moreover the entries get overwritten when the system does a PRL Update and/or Data Services update etc..
Any idea as to how can I make this phone work with ringplus service for data? Phone calls go thru. fine. Does anybody know how can I find what modem is my phone using ?
Edited - Asked RingPlus to put my ICID on their side, did PRLUpdate and Profile Update and that brought 4G/LTE on my phone. However there should be some way to do PRLUpdate through custom ROM as well. Isn't it ?
I recently rooted my s3, and flashed the Cyanogenmod 12.1-20150527-NIGHTLY-d2spr ROM.
3G and lower works great, but I am unable to connect to the LTE network. I initially believed it was an APN problem, and flashed this: (android forums -> virgin-mobile-mod-universal-lte-virgin-mobile-apn-fix-wip-cm-aosp-4-4-x.840298), without success. I tried updating/adding apns manually, but still am unable to connect to 4G.
My model is SPH-L710, and current baseband is L710VPUCNDC.
Let me know if you have any advice/solutions!

To get LTE, clean flash (wipe cache, system, and data on TWRP or use the "clean to install new ROM" option on PhilZ) the ROM, Gapps, and the APN fix and then boot up. As soon as your phone finishes booting up, turn it off, go into recovery, and dirty flash (don't wipe anything) the ROM and Gapps.
I used this on AICP 9.0 which is based on CM12.1, and I've heard this procedure works on CM12.1 and any CM12.1 based ROM.
Hi there everyone, I managed to install the lollipop 5.0.x on my S3 Spring running on the Cleartalk Wireless Network which is a local company. The ROM worked well and I had working 3G mobile data, except for the camera which we all know doesn't work for sprint s3's on 5.0.x ROMs, so i decided to flash to 5.1.1 from this website: GalaxyS3root under the sprint s3 roms, the 5.1.1 one.
Everything went well, i could run the ROM and everything worked, camera, wifi, everything, except for one thing, 3G mobile data. I get signal, but no 3G data, there is an exclamation mark next to my signal. Ive tried rebooting, and it hasn't worked, ive searched for apn fixes, but none of them are for the Cleartalk Wireless network, i've found
apn fixes for boost and others only, so after more google searching i found out you could backup your apn settings and restore them, how does this work? I really enjoyed the
lollipop rom and if it wasn't for the 3G not working, i wouldve kept it, right now i just decided to flash my S3 to the stock firmware 4.4.2 and just root it. Any ideas fixes or suggestions that could fix the mobile connection on the 5.1.1 ROM? 3G has worked in every rom, (Carbon, lollipop 5.0, stock rom) but not in the 5.1.1 one, any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

Same issue here.
I am on NJ2 baseband (modem).
finally found a solution!!!
for everyone loosing their 3G data after installing the 5.1.1 or any other rom... this is what worked for me... backing up apn's with "apn backup and restore" app from the play store in the stock rom ... then after installing the lollipop rom... just restore apn's. There are tutorials on how to do that ... just google for "apn backup and restore tutorial". :good:
