how weak is this gpu, is it overclocked ?
its pretty outdated, regardless what anyone else says to you
it has half the die size of a 544mp4, which is kind of sad ... the mali400 in note 2 is overclocked versus the one in the gs2, and is suppose to be an improved variant from the galaxy s3
it is faster than tegra 3, ill tell you that for sure
something is strange, i wonder if the note 2 gpu is a variant in the way the adreno series like adreno 225 but samsung just doesnt change the numbering maybe, what do you think, if its a variant, there must be changes, no way it can pull figures like it does while being a s2 gpu lol

what does plus improved graphics mean in wikipedia
Everyone knows that Open GL 3 will be supported by Android 4.3. The Galaxy Note 2 for now not support. Most smartphones do not support. Some examples of how PowerVR5 GPU does not support. (Iphone, S4 Octa Core). My question is whether in the future the Note 2 will have some implementation support. The game Asplhat 8 is Open GL ES 3.0. I believe it will run with a loss of some effects. And what is the future for our Note 2 in games? Already obsolete? I play all fine.

All mobiles that have been released before January 2013 did not support OpenGL ES 3.0 – they don’t have multiple instance support, compressed textures etc..
Samsung Galaxy SIII, SII, S and older mobiles of Samsung did not support OpenGL ES 3.0
Samsung Galaxy Note (GT-N7000) and Samsung Galaxy Note II (GT-N7100)
iPhone – 5 and lower versions did not support OpenGL ES 3.0; but it supports OpenGL ES 2.0. (iPhone 3 second Gen onwards (ie, iPhone 3 second gen, iPhone 4 and iPhone 5) OpenGL ES 2.0 support has been added).
All BlackBerries released before April 2013 did not support OpenGLES 3.0.
All window 7.5 Mobiles do not support OpenGL ES 3.0
Windows 8.0 Mobiles released before March 2013 did not support the same."

Anybody
Google has added the support for OpenGL ES 3.0 yes.. But it can't just add something and leave the old things while it and the developers knows exactly how many millions of people use android on different devices.. They will not just make a game for one device or two .. They will try to support every device.. For the next 2 years, OpenGL ES3 won't be the main focus for developers .. After that most of the people would have a device that support OpenGL ES 3 .. In other words its not just a complete change in one day.. Its a Change overtime without the ordinary person even noticing .. And that's important for Google and developers..
The thread is interesting ..

They will do their best both for benefiting from the OpenGL 3.0 and not leaving the unsupporting devices behind. The best proof for that Google still keeps "Force GPU rendering" and "Disabling hardware layers" optional since Gingerbread.
If they were like Microsoft they would just tell everyone "hey you people with low GPU phones, we are cutting you off because from now on every new Android version will force GPU rendering for creating the screen no matter the app or commands say!!" Microsoft leaved every WP 7.x phone behind to make a jump for WP 8.. Bu Google did not leave anyone behind and left things optional. Novadays game makers design their games to measure your device's power (mostly the chipset brand unfortunately) and run as much effect as it could handle. So basicly neither Google nor developers/app creators leaving anyone behind.
And I am sure on the 720p screen category Note 2 is still one of the most powerfull devices to leave behind. Everything will still be smooth with a little beith sacrofise of the effects in the future
hi
here in iran(tehran) i find both model:
galaxy tab s 8.4 snapdragon 800(without any lock)
galaxy tab s 8.4 exynos 5 octa 5420
whats ur idea??
wich is better??
they are same in price.
someone say that exynos go to be so hot and someone els say that it was a software problem and solved.
which one is really better??
really i cant choose......
hellllllllllllllpppppppppppppppppp
thanks a lot.
imo snapdragon is much better
I have the exynos model, but I feel that it's a bit laggy compared to my galaxy s5 which is snapdragon.

I thought every single Galaxy Tab S tablets(both 8 and 10 inch as well as the LTE variants) have the Exynos chipset. I wasn't aware of any Galaxy Tab S tablet that had the Snapdragon SoC

lag... the stupid svoice running on background... disable it... better... delete it... you hardly using that crap...
anyway... to choose between snap or exy... i will go for snap... but the development... cant help you there... =_=
Hi guys
Iam Note 8.0 user
i don't know any things about developement or roms
I got a good idea
don't know if it's possible
We know samsung released mid end tablet called tab a8 with lollipop built in
I searched found the hardware is the same
s pen , 5 mp cam quadcore , 2gb ram
The wifi n5110 face wifi tab a8
the lte n5120 face lte tab a8
the 3g n5100 ? Can handle lte software ?
Can someone make it possible to install tab a8 official rom on note 8.0
Simple No!

Why? What would be the advantage of that?

Lot
Starting from lower system used storage
Multi users
Ultra power saving mode
Lollipop kitkat 5 (there are lot of apps support only lollipop, like fore example screen recording no root)
Ok.
FYI, I don't think my Tab A supports multiple users...

Good idea though. Have to go through and see how similar the specs are.
Seems like the main difference is the processor:
Galaxy Tab A8 has a
1.2 ghz quad core
Note 8 has
Chipset Exynos 4412 Quad
CPU Quad-core 1.6 GHz Cortex-A9
GPU Mali-400MP4
So why did the A8 get marshmallow when it's lower specced... why TF did they say the Note 8 was too weak to handle it?
Seems like the closest match to my
Samsung Galaxy Note 8 GT N5110
is the
Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 SM-T350 (wifi only model - no stylus). List of firmware names..

no coz the most important thing is missing, it's not using the same cpu as our note

According to CPUz my Nexus 7 has a Snapdragon 600 should it not be an S4 pro?

The S4 pro has 4x Krait 200 cores and support LPDDR2 RAM modules. The SoC in nexus 7 has 4x Krait 300 cores and support DDR3L-1600MHz SDRAM modules.
So I think, that it's just basically underclocked snapdragon 600, but they call it like a S4 Pro, because of the underclocking (snapdragon 600 is clocked at 1.7GHz)
