Hello guys,
Just have a quick question I am on stock sony android 4.2.2 rooted with a locked bootloader,
I was wondering now that 4.3 is out and I use flash tool to flash the new 4.3 would that cause any issues? I know I would lose my root (is there any way to save it) or can i just flash the new update with no issues.

If you flash the FTF using flashtool it will wipe the phone completely and obviously root will be gone. AFAIK the only way to root 4.3 right now is with an unlocked bootloader. You may want to try to update without wiping, it might preserve root. The update still hasn't rolled for the C6506 so I'm unable to try anything.
Hi Guys,
Here is a breakdown of the facts:
I have a SGH-I747 (Canadian version)
I wanted to unlock it so I downgraded and installed 4.1.1 (I747MUMLL1)
After, I realized that the 4.1.1 is outdated and don't like the layout...etc.
Now, I want to go back to 4.2.1 or 4.3.
What are the steps to install 4.2.1 or 4.3 ?
Do I have to root the phone before installing anything?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
either Odin to 4.3 or check system update in setting

You cannot downgrade the bootloader, only the ROM.
It has been theorized that downgrading the ROM to 4.1.1 and keeping the 4.3 bootloader would give you the necessary options to unlock the phone using the free method, but no one has posted the results of doing this.
I couldn't find a ROM matching MUMLL1 but many ROMs are located here: http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/1/?model=SGH-I747M&pcode=BMC#firmware

Do you where I can download 4.3? Does it matter on the cellphone provider?
System update doesn't work...its say's system is up-to-date.

Look on samfirmware.com for stock ROMs for your carrier. The firmware must be flashed via desktop Odin.

I read in one of these threads that flashing via Mobile Odin, rather than desktop Odin, will flash the ROM but not the bootloader. Can anyone confirm if it is possible to safely downgrade from 4.3 to 4.1.1 via this method?

I have downloaded lastest firmware for Telus from Sammobile.
Should I just use odin and install the new firmware? Do I need to do something to the ROM before I install the firmware? I'm a newbie to flashing so all the help would be help.
Thanks

If you are using an i747m, you can use Odin to flash the firmware.
Hi all i need some quick clarification,
1) I am full aware that if you purchased a Note 3 on 4.3 and you updated to stock via either OTA, Kies or Odin the bootloader is upgraded and you cannot downgrade to 4.3 stock.
2) So my question is if you are stock 4.4 and install root, install custom recovery, Can you still downgrade to a 4.3 rom via custom recovery? or will it not allow me to downgrade at all?
3) Finally You can't downgrade to a 4.3 bootloader correct?
1) correct
2) 4.3 kernels do not boot with the 4.4 bootloader, so no
3) correct

is 4.4.2 that bad for the n900t?
it seems people are trying to avoid upgrading the bootloader. and are trying to downgrade if already on kitkat. whats wrong with the kitkat bootloader?
I had to update to ND3 Kitkat bootloader in order to install Dr ketan's 4.4.2 V12 Rom. I still find my old 4.1.2 is much more faster and stable so I wanted to flash stock firmware but I couldn't because of the bootloader. So my question is, is it possible to downgrade the bootloader so I can use 4.1.2 again, flash mj5? If not are there things that I could try? Will there be a modified kitkat bootloader than I can install so I can downgrade?
Thanks

Bootloader can't be downgraded. Flashing older bootloader might brick your phone.
With Mobile Odin Pro some people have successfully downgraded to 4.1.2, but bootloader remains intact.

Doing it with software you may need hundreds of dollars worth of JTAG equipment with no guaranteed result. The cheapest and the most direct way is to have a repair shop to swap out the phone's EMMC, which should be under $100. Specifically state you want 4.1.2 and tell them NOT to upgrade the bootloader or ROM to 4.3 or later.
I want to downgrade from lolipop to kk but i dont have kitkat backup because my sdcard has broken. And i want to ask if you flash kdz do you get modem or if you can just flash modem after kitkat rom.
