I was looking at all those nice android sticks out there and was thinking I can do the same thing with my glide. Which Rom would you recommend to turn the glide into a streaming device for my TV. I can always connect a BLuetooth mouse and keyboard, I just need the HDMI working via my MHL connector.
JB
STOCK!!
For a better performance with HDMI you need the stock ROM, the problem with the AOSP(CM,OMNI) is the HDMI and Sound Driver, in all ROM that I try the sound not works in the TV, and the rotation not works too... in stock all this works correctly.

I have tried the CrDroid ROM with no success, on Ginger all works fine like you said. Which ROMs you tried?

Hey guys i'm wanting to use a utg cable for audio out. It works on the stock rom without any issues, but i just tried the CM10 ROM and a mouse would work, but i was not able to get any audio to my amp.
was wondering if anyone has found a rom that they knew would work instead of having to flash a bunch of different Roms myself.
I think this is related to Jelly Bean itself, it implements digital audio output over usb and disables the standard analog output over usb. Of course, this renders the audio over usb portion of existing accessories worthless (reminds me of a recent move by a different, rather rotten, company). I don't know for certain, but I suspect that currently all JB ROMs have this "feature".
hmm well that sucks. I just tried Hellfire's rom and it didnt work either. I wonder if i install the leaked Samsung Jelly Bean update if it will still work.. I just want to connect my Fiio E7 and be able to get audio
I am trying to use the ATRIX dock which works great but i am having issues getting the keyboard and mouse on the unit to work. I dont understand it should just be able to be recognized like any other usb mouse and keyboard.. i am under CM7. Is there a special kernel or something...or even a rom that can do this?
I don't get any audio when connecting my ZL to my TV via MHL-Adapter. Is this a general problem or can I adjust something in settings?
Edit: I'm using stock 4.2.2
Edit 2: when I start a song in walkman and connect MHL, the song can be heard over the tv for about 1 second, then it gets silent

What MHL adapter are you using? I used one that requires a power source and works great.
I'm using samsung 5pin MHL that requires power source, work great.
U hv to test with other phone to check whether ur phone or that cable is the problem.

Probably you have the wrong adapter. We can't use the MHL adapter that is specific for Galaxy S3 / S4.
The standard model (for Galaxy Nexus, Galaxy S2, HTC Evo 4G Tablet, HTC Sensation 4G etc) is the one that works perfectly.
Thank you all for your quick replies!
I'm also using an adapter with power source via usb. I'm quite sure that it worked on 4.1!
And I can hear audio when I connect my phone when it's playing for about 1 second, seems like a software problem to me. Maybe I'll flash original ftf again without wipe and see what's happening....

For me, MHL is not working on an Xperia Z either. Somewhat good to see several Xperia models have this problem. But it is extremely annoying that this does not seem to be picked up by Sony.
Ever since 4.2, audio through HDML is not working. And I am talking about the official Sony MHL adapter and even a Sony TV.
Hi all,

Yes, many people have with 4.2.2 as you would have discovered using search.
No, there is no resolution at present.

Anyone found a fix? My current solution is to leave bluetooth on all the time. It connects ok when its not car mode turning it on but it's obviously not an ideal fix.
Sense 5 A2DP
I have just bought a USB a2dp dongle for my car which connects via the AUX In. Music from my HOX plays superbly and when my phone rings this also comes through the car speakers. However it appears that the microphone on the phone does not function (as it does when hardwired to the AUX In). Does anybody know if it it possible to configure the HOX to use the normal microphone when paired with the A2DP dongle.
I am using Viper X 4.0.5 and AlexV 2.7 btw
many thanks
When my Tab S 10.5 was running Kit Kat, it worked perfectly with my hifimediy Sabre dac. I was very excited when I auto-updated to Lollipop, which did seem to help battery life, speed, etc. It's just that the Dac stopped working. It clearly recognizes the device. Sounds even come out of it, it's just badly distorted and starts and stops.
Is this a lollipop problem or do Ihave to see if hifimediy will write a driver for lollipop? Is there any way to solve it other than going back to kitkat?

I just posted a similar thread - hadn't spotted yours sorry otherwise would have added to it (just found yours by doing a google search)
I have a Fiio E17 which worked flawlessly on both my Note 3 (Snapdragon chipset) and Tab S 10.5 with 4.4
with 5.02 Lollipop no longer works with my Tab S (haven't dared upgrade my Note 3)
very very annoying
I have a Fiio E17 and I tried connecting it to my 10.5 after upgrading to lollipop and almost busted my ear drums. I haven't tried connecting it before upgrading, so I am not sure if it worked before, but it sure as hell ain't working now. The sound comes out completely distorted.
I just bought an Oppo Ha-2 and doest work with the Lollipop Tab S 10.5
Any workaround to this yet?
There's an option in Developer Options to Prevent routing to USB peripherals. I made sure that's unchecked. I checked USB Debugging. Still the same.
Tab 8.4 same problem with use of External DAC
I just purchased a Tab S 8.4 ( Lollipop) and tried to use an external DAC ( Audio Engine D3) via OTG cable . There is power to the DAC but no sound . So I installed Onkyo Player , now I get sound but its horrible with lots of distortion. I have not tried the USB Audio Player Pro yet.
USB Audio Player Pro is the answer to this, excellent player and worth the £5.80 it costs, i had the same issue with the Galaxy Alpha and this was the only way i had it working perfectly.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.extreamsd.usbaudioplayerpro&hl=en_GB
I have the same problem on an Samsung Galaxy S2 on 12.1 and the last Gustavo Kernel.
Using USB Audio Player Pro did not help as it reports "Failed to submit USB transfer! Your device probabyl does not support for isochronous USB transfers".
Also it does not detect the "HiFimeDIY Sabre Android DAC" only the larger "HiFimeDIY Sabre USB DAC ES9023 96kHz/24bit".
Anyone managed to make it run on any Kernel? What Kernels have you been using? The stock Kernel?

I just tried the demo version today. It worked like a charm the first time . This seems to be the only player that works with my Audioengine D3 with no stutter etc and also no external power is required . I am going to buy the App.
