Hello
I unlocked my bootloader with sony provided key and I followed the tutorial here http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Install_CM_for_amami to install CM11 M8 snapshot.
Since I did everything as stated, I can't figure out why I can't stop a bootloop to happen.
When I tried to reflash I noticed that the wipe of DATA apparently fails because CWM can't mount data.
Previously I used the duallocked recovery hack and I had a stock rom rooted.
Could it be because I flashed a 4.4.3 gapps file and cm11 M8 is 4.4.4 ??
Anyway, apart from reflashing a stock rom, what can I do ??
Thanks for answers
Nico.

I think I read some users reports that CyannogenMod M8 isn't working well for amami,
but all older releases were working fine.
Yes, accepted the M8 is not too good ....

After unlocking bootloader you need to wipe data/media, in order to format the internal storage which is wiped in the unlocking procedure. And yeah, go with nightlies for now I'd say. Working fine for me!

Hy
i have got myself a new mini (coming from htc) and have some questions.
first what i did already:
rooted the phone (works after flashing update for superSU)
did a nandroid backup
flashed custom rom CM10
flashed gapps
now after doing this, i came to conclusion i needed the original dropbox for getting the free storage (didn't work @cm). i wanted to get this using android manager and now the problems starts:
nandroid manager need other superuser, so i installed superSU again and flashed the update. but now i haven't got root anmore
in recovery a did a restore from my backup => the phone bootes, but give me a lot of errors and freezes a little (gapps, google services,...)
whent back to racovery and flashed again CM10 and gapps => everything works
but now i am back at the beginning and some more questions:
how can i install other superuser in CM10 without problems
why crashes my backup
what can i do if i restore (maybe flash gapps?)
did it also with titanium backup pro but gives error for other bussybox. after installing new one, still not ok
manny thanks in advance

Same here . if factory reset the apps from the play store can't write in data partition . flash arco68 kernel before cwm backup then backup and everything is ok .the problem is the stock kernel(security settings).

Hi All -
First time posting! I am very new to this and I'm in dire need of help! I will write as many details of my situation as I can!
So, I have been running a recent nightly of Cyanogenmod 11 on my d2att/i747 Samsung Galaxy S3 for the past few weeks. I decided to try out the encryption feature (first mistake). I noticed that things weren't running smoothly as they were before and decided to try flashing a new ROM (latest AOKP nightly). NOW, I am in trouble.
First, before installing AOKP, I loaded the ROM and gapps to my external SD. I then did these steps: wipe data/factory reset, then
format /data, then format /system, finally Wipe Dalvik Cache. I then installed AOKP and gapps from the external SD. Halfway through the install I noticed on the screen "E: Can't mount SDCard". However, the install appeared to go through well so I thought it might have been in error.
I then rebooted as per normal, at which point I was shocked to still see the cyanogenmod encryption unlock screen! I plugged in the password, and then watched the AOKP boot screen perpetually load. It never did fully load.
Would any of you be able to help me resurrect my phone? Thank you so much in advance!!!
What version of the AT&T ROM were you running before installing CM11?

That was ages ago. MAYBE 4.1.1.
I Think I may have to try to do a stock recovery...
As long as you were not on 4.3, flashing via Odin should restore the phone to complete stock everything (ROM, Radio, bootloader).

It doesn't seem to be working when I try to flash through ODIN. It says "succeed 0/failed 0". Could that be because of running CM11 (android 4.2.2)? Or the encryption?
Possibly. You're flashing a stock AT&T rom from samfirmware?

not samfirmware. i'll try downloading one from them.
Samfirmware has the official ROM releases.
Link here: http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/1/?model=SGH-I747&pcode=ATT#firmware
ARGH. So, in theory ODIN worked. However, after booting up again, I'm getting the same request to enter a code to get past encryption. Even better, that code is no longer working!!!
Any ideas?

Hello!
I recently got a Note 2 (GT-N7105)
And for some silly reason wich even disappoints myself i wanted to overclock , well that didn't make sense i know but however i did it! and directly after i installed the required file (I don't remember wich one but it was for 1.8Ghz) after the installing my phone kept showing the boot logo , i tried to use my backup but even after restoring it didnt boot! I cleaned everything wich also cleaned my backup...
I been on it for about 7 hours now trying different roms , kernels , and every file i could find but nothing helps.
I now installed Cyanogenmod using CMW but even that bootloops.
The last thing i could notice is CMW showing me a E: failed to Mount /efs (Invalid argument) Wich makes me worry even more...
I honestly hope there are some good peaple who could help me with this... Finally got a great phone and by stupid mistakes i made it won't work anymore..
I don't care what rom gets on it , Even if its a hello kitty rom u won't hear me complain , If the phone works again i'll be happy!
Not sure if this helps but its a GT-N7105 , i know it had the newest android there was (4. something, i think it was 4.3)
Odin does see the device , My CMW (6.0.4.1) works and Download Mode works.
I hope anybody can help me!
In case you want to help me live wich would be awesome my skype is : chrishendriks92
If it gets fixed i will Offcourse place the solution here.
(The note is not a new one , its used and a few months old , worked 100% before my stupid decisions bricked it)
(so here's a small version)
-Every rom i tried will bootloop , It shows a different boot video/logo everytime tho
-It all happened after i tried a 2.8Ghz Overclock
-i get a EFS error in CMW
-Accidentily i deleted my backup but i don't mind whatever rom gets on it
-Download mode and CMW (6.0.4.1) works

Ok, so what I would do.
I would wipe data through CWM.
Download official ROM from sammobile.com and flash it through Odin.
I hope this will help to get the phone booted.
After that we will worry about imei recovery.

I have the same problem, I'm on 4.3 version and tried to downgrade to 4.1.1 and went back to 4.3, I formatted the system through twrp with NO OS INSTALLED to be sure it is totally cleaned but all the way, I still experiencing reboot issue.
At first I encountered unfortunately systemui has stopped, done rooting and fixing permission but still no luck.
One more thing, I already flashed pit file.

You installed a kernel right? To over clock? First flash new bootloader, then flash stock kernel, then again flash stock rom, do not let the device boot up before you have done all three.

yup I already did that,I flashed stock kernel from http://opensource.samsung.com/.I know reflashing stock rom will delete everything including root.
What I mean is when Im rooted and tried to wipe the phone, SuperSu also deleted.Im wondering that I have a corrupted emmc, It seems that it is not mounted correctly, although I tried to flash a pit file already.

Hey guys,
I installed Cyanogenmod on my Xperia M from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2584956
After that I installed Google Apps package. But I accidentally messed something up so I wiped the /system, /cache, /data via CWM recovery and re flashed the ROM. It booted up correctly, but I want to know if my procedure was incorrect or I needed to flash 4.3 firmware first before flashing Cyanogenmod to my device? Its working fine now. I just want to know if Cyanogenmod is independent or if it needs /system from 4.3 stock firmware.
Also, I want to know how to wipe my INTERNAL SD card, the card which isn't removable?
Please reply ASAP.
I found the solution.
What is the solution??

can you please tell us in detail what the solution is??
Well, it isn't as complicated as it seems. It turned out I needed to be on stock 4.3 firmware with bootloader unlocked so I would have the correct baseband for Cyanogenmod.
After that, I wiped my /system, /cache, and /data. Then I flashed the Cyanogenmod for my device via the zips and then flashed the GApps from Paranoid Android thread on XDA.
Booted up, first time boot took up long like 4 minutes, everything works fine now, except for the battery. It merely lasts 14 hours, considering it used to last 26-28 hours on official firmware.
Hi, after trying to use philz recovery to flash a ROM on to my device I got what I think was called a soft brick where I had to download and flash the stock ROM.
My device (GT-N7100) is now not rooted again and back to square one. Any problems I come across occur from using old tutorials with dead links so if someone could recommend a tutorial to install a custom rom like 5.1 I would be very grateful. Thanks
EDIT. I found this guide on youtube http://mytechtube.in/samsung-galaxy-note2-rooting.html + http://mytechtube.in/samsung-galaxy-note2-6-0-1.html . Does it look like it will work?
Flash twrp using Odin, then flash a custom rom via twrp.
Root your phone first. Flash recovery like twrp and install custom rom like Resurrection remix the ROM is stable most of the things works and good as daily driver.

Root is not required to flash TWRP. TWRP can be flashed directly to the phone using Odin.

Should I just use the latest version of TWRP direct from their website https://twrp.me/devices/samsunggalaxynote2n7100.html ?
I think my phone code name is t03g how can i confirm?
Thanks
EDIT. Just installed TWRP :good: now on to picking a good ROM. will have a look at the ressurection one too.
To install apps that require root should O root it now or do some ROMS root it for me?
Sorry for the amount of questions
The easiest way to install twrp would be to flash the tar version using Odin.

Most custom Roms come prerooted. If the rom is not rooted, you can flash supersu.zip from recovery.
Root can be enabled on cm13 under developer options in settings.

Thanks for the info. I've watched some videos of cm13 and I so far thats what im going with. Will look for a youtube video to help with installing it.
To install, download cm13 to an sad card, wipe cache, wipe system, wipe data, install cm13 zip from ad card, reboot.
Cm13 does not come with Google apps (gapps) so you'll have to decide which version you want.

I didnt realise that before. Could I for example install any of the GAPPS from this link https://devs-lab.com/android-gapps-download.html " full google apps" or pico google apps ?
From whatI gather GAPPS are installed straight after rom install before root though is this the same in cm13?
Flash CM13, flash Gapps, reboot.

Yeah was ARM as I just installed CM13. Thank you seriously headig your way.
Hopefully, everything works.
Now that you have twrp on your phone, you can use it to create a backup of everything in your phone, including time efs folder. Save the efs folder in a safe place in case you need to restore it to the phone at a later date.
After making a backup, you can flash other Roms and you can return to cm13 by restoring your backup.
Just getting familiar with it. Thanks for the help.
Do you know if there's settings to turn screen on during during calls because it works with the front sensor and that sensor is broke on my phone?

You could try disabling the proximity sensor in the phone so the phone screen doesn't blank out during a call.
Got it sorted using an app from the play store.

Hi, phones been running great until yesterday when it started telling me the disk space was nearly full(via es filee xplorer). It then turned off a few times and i turned it on again. The phone would shut off if I tried to do anything like launch the camera app. It now bootloops when i try to turn it on.
I have tried wiping dalvic cache, factory reset, recover from a recovery point i made when i installed the rom and reinstalling the custom rom like I did the first time.
The phone did once go into a boot animation of the old boot screen(02 animation), another time it started the miui boot logo but went back to the normal samsung galaxy note 2 boot loop.
Any suggestions on how i could get it running again? Thanks!
