I took my G2 for a dip in the river having to drag my dumbass dog out lol
It must have been completely submerged for 2-3 min.
It took a few days to dry out but after that it recovered completely

[Q] Best way to clean the screen?

Hey guys, was looking for effective methods that specific XPlay owners use to clean their screen. Thanks for the info!
I've just got a specsavers glasses cloth, which works fine.
I usually use a silk piece of matter and a low-concentrated soap water. I used it for years previously on PCs and laptops now on phones...never had an issue.
I always only use microfiber cloths with good results when doing a full clean. Otherwise I usually just use the shirt I have on at the moment.
I use the micro fibre cloth or whatever from my iPhone 4, its the same as the specsaver glasses fibre cloth.

If you want to buy mine for $800, so I can get a nexus, then sure. Otherwise, I'm stuck with my inc2. Hope you find an actual buyer.

sad to hear
Sad to hear about that.
My black DIncII is in mint condition.
Got it back in Oct.
$280. without the data cable.
My wife might let her DInc1 go for $180.
It has a slight sctatch on the glass and the camera cover has asmall crack.
The batery door has a chiped corner but over all it's a clean machine.
I will try to follow this thread but PM me if you think you might want either.
Good luck.

I think you are right. The Bay has em for less than that.
But have you ever tried to pry an Android phone from a wife?
I offered her my Black DIncII. She frowned.
The price was her idea, she told me to sell my DIncII for less then hers.
I guess she just likes what she has.
I already gave her my 6900 for an alarm clock.
I have an old xv6800 that I could part with for cheap or a Razzle that never got out of the box. Was a standby phone for the daughter.
But I think knipp21 needs an Android phone to keep his girl happy.

My phone went 1 foot onto the sharp front seat rail in my car (I have long legs, so the seats are always all the way back.) It only ruined my screen protector. I was pleasantly surprised. It's impressive what a beating these phones can take.
Also, my phone tends to land screen up for some reason. maybe that's the reason nothing's broken yet and the OP's phone survived.

I fell in the pool once with wind breaker pants with zip up pockets and my phone zipped in. I had to swim to the ladder and my phone only had like 4 drops of water on it but it was practically waterproofed by my pants and the short time i was in the water. But another time I fell off the boat in salt water that was only knee deep and my phone fried just from the splash.

I guess the stairs-carpet helped at some point.. but hey I think we do feel your emotion
Good news for you then. Remember dropping my first mobile a Motorola A835 and these were a size-able beast. I had dropped it down a flight of 12 course concrete steps. It bounced like a ball of 4 of the steps, then, when it hit the bottom, the phone made a sharp left into a hedge while the battery cover made a sharp right down a shallow drain. The phone worked great. It only had a scuff on the edge and scratch on the screen :victory:
Lucky for the carpet I'd say. The phone would have died if you'd done that on concrete stairs like in a car park or something.

Water in Cameras and USB port!!!

Left phone outside last night and woke up with it pouring rain. Needless to say water got in the phone. Both camera are water logged now and the usb port is acting up saying its on charger when its not. Anybody have any ideas to maybe get the water out quicker besides rice in a bowl trick. Thanks

Ouch dude. I'm sorry that happened...I would be crying if that happened to me. It sounds like a lot of water is inside the phone and would take quiet a while for the rice to do its job. Make sure to not keep the device powered on. Remove the battery ASAP and then toss the phone in a bag of rice and let it sit for a few days. You could try setting it in front of a fan too for a few hours/days. I'm surprised the phone didn't short out yet.

Front camera is still shot and usb port damaged i guess it charges but even when i unplug it it still says its charging but battery level keeps going lower not higher. I guess i will give it a few more days then get it repaired if needed. Tried to open the phone myself and got every screw out but the one on the side and just my luck it stripped so needless to say I couldn't get the back off without breaking it...go figure!!!!

Keeping the phone powered on and trying to charge it was by far the worst thing to do. You should have removed the battery right when you got it from outside and put it into rice or let it air-dry for a long time. Obviously it's too late now but for the future just remember that for any of your electronics.
Sucks about the stripped screw. Been there done that lots of times. Those kinds of screws require a really good screwdriver.
