Unplug phone. Power on. Hold vol up and power for exactly 10 sec. Let go of both. Hold vol down and power to enter bootloader. Usually about 3 seconds. Then look for guide on stock backups.

I lied. I didn't brick my phone but it's just stuck on the white htc screen. What do I do and how do I get my phone to work again.

Like he said, Press and hold Volume UP + Power Button for exactly 10 seconds and then press and hold Volume DOWN + Power button to enter into bootloader. From there you can either reflash a ROM or go back to stock.
If it's frozen there then you can only press and hold Volume UP + Power button (But not the whole time, just for 10 seconds) it "simulates" a battery pull on the device and will reboot. Make sure device is not connected to PC though.

hold the power button down and the volume up button at the same time for like 10 seconds or until the phone starts to reboot. as soon as the screen goes black switch to holding the volume down button.
you should get into recovery like that. if so you can fix yer phone. try it and report back.

How do I go back to stock? I wiped my whole phone so there is no rom on it I am assuming because it just stays at the white htc screen if I reboot it.

Well, which T-Mobile variant do you have? Do you know what the original software version on your device was? It'll make things easier...
Out of curiousity though, how did you wipe your entire phone if you're stuck at the boot screen?

Ok, where are you from then? Did you buy it from T-Mobile somewhere in the USA, T-Mobile Germany... T-Mobile Poland? T-Mobile Planet Jupiter?
Each of them have a different version number for the carrier/region x.xx.531.x , x.xx.111.x x.xx.118.x etc
If we can know that much we can look into finding the right stock version you require.
That aside, did you manage to get the device back into bootloader yet?

download the t-mobile stock rom backup linked above and put it on a microSD card. then go into recovery from the bootloader screen and then you can flash that from recovery. wipe everything first which is an option in recovery, then flash the stock rom backup and you should be good to go.
i had the same issue except on AT&T so i just found an AT&T stock rom backup to flash.

i kept root. you get the option when you flash your phone with the stock rom. the recovery will ask you if you want to root.

yes that is correct. goto wipe. first wipe everything. then reboot into recovery. then select Restore. you should be able to click on where it says storage and then choose micro SD.
at that point you should see the stock T-Mobile ROM zip file tyou put on your microSD card. pick that, and you are good to go.

I suggest you read the notice from jcase... I'm guessing you were runiing gb?

you ruu was too old - this version doesn't have the required drivers for SLCD.
That means, you phone probably does work, but the screen is black.
I don't know how to solve this (probably by flashing the newer RUU, Version 2.29....) exactly, but hopefully this gives you a clue where to look for a fix.
There were many people experiencing this after Froyo was available. They did the ota-update, then noticed, that it wasn't possible to root with the new bootloader (Version 0.93ish) at that time, which was installed along with the froyo-ota, so they tried to downgrade back to 2.1 and ended up where you are. (bootoader .80 instead of .83ish).

Probably the easiest and safest way ist to boot into fastboot although you don't see it and flash the newsest ruu,
so:
1) make sure, phone is off (i.e. pull battery and put back in)
2) push and hold "back" and hit power.
3) wait 30 seconds or so, to be on the safe side
4) connect phone to pc via usb
5) run RUU on PC, version 2.29.405... (RUU, not OTA!)
And make sure to have some juice in your battery
Here you can get the RUU:
RUU_Bravo_Froyo_HTC_WWE_2.29.405.5_Radio_32.49.00.32U_5.11.05.27_release_159811_signed.exe
Its on >>Shipped Roms<< , 7th from top.
btw. am I assuming correctly that your phone is unbranded?
btw2: Do it all on your own risk. I'm trying to help, but I dont want to be held resposible, if something goes wrong, so maybe wait for someone else to confirm

did you see any provider logo during startup? Or any preinstalled apps or bookmarks which point into a provider's direction? Where did you buy it? And did you need a goldcard for rooting?
if you answer is no on every question, you're probably not branded.
Did you write down the version number before you did anything to your phone (when you have a .405. in your version number, your phone is definitely not branded).
Edit: but I really recommend to read the linked thread. My device is unbranded amoled so I never did any of this myself (apart from running a RUU), so always think twice before following my steps

no. You have booted into recovery before, didn't you? Now you do the same but use "back" instead of vol- , because you want to boot into fastboot.
All I wanted to say with this 30 seconds is to give it some time to boot into fastboot, thats all. Press and hold "back", press "power", release power, wait 3 seconds, release "back", wait 10 seconds and plug in usb, start ruu.
Thats all I wanted to say with my previous post. Sry, if it was confusing

no.

If it is branded, you get a cid-error, so ruu wont finish. But your phone probably isn't branded, otherwise you would have come across problems during flashing custom roms or/or radios (-->goldcard). And because this doesn't seem to be the case, your device is not branded.
When the RUU is done, you phone is completely back to stock and you can do whatever you like to it...

PS - I know my english sucks from time to time just deal whit it sorry
That is the stock recovery you are seeing. You can't make a backup with it either. You need to flash a custom recovery, then take a backup with it before doing anything else. And to return to stock, you restore your backup, then flash your stock recovery version.
See this thread for help on most things...

What does Firewater have to do with anything? What exactly are you trying to do? Just make a backup of stock ROM/Data before flashing custom ROMs? Then you don't even need S-OFF, if you didn't know this then perhaps going S-OFF wouldn't be a good idea anyway, might just be a brick in the making then.
First things first, what CID are you at? Go to the Collection thread in general section and see if you have a backup of stock recovery there. If you do then you can just flash custom recovery and flash custom ROMs. IF you don't then you need to make a backup of your recovery and you'll have to boot the custom recovery(Philz) to make a backup of stock recovery.
Htc_032 i needed firewater cuz i need super cid cuz im branded and soon im leaving my country so i have to use diff sim

[Q] HTC One stuck in boot screen. Help!?

Hey guys, I have a stock Verizon HTC One. Bootloader is locked and nothing is or has ever been rooter on this device. Recently, upon starting up my phone, the white 3-android boot screen came up. I can navigate through the options with the power up key, but the power down key for some reason does not work. Not only that, but the power button does NOT work to select ANY of the options, so therefore I can not boot the phone into recovery or even select factory reset from the menu. The strange thing is, is that I can hold the power key + the volume up key to boot up into Safe Mode, so I know the power button isn't broken. Once in Safe Mode, I have done a complete wipe of the device, but to no avail. The phone just boots right back up into the boot menu and I'm back at square one. I have no idea how to proceed from here, as my phone is out of warranty. If I could get some step by step instructions on how to resolve this, that would be greatly appreciated.
Note: image is from Google images, but that is what I'm currently seeing.
Thanks!
Flash the matching ruu from your computer, if it is a software issue, that should fix it. If you are s-on and on the 4.4.3 stock rom, there is an executable file farther down the page in this section of the forum. Just make sure your fastboot driver is up to date before flashing.

You don't have a vzw phone so you are in the wrong section. Separately, since you have an international m7, you can go to HTC dev and unlock that phone. Then flash a custom recovery and flash the Rom of your choosing.
Edit...just noticed you are already unlocked so you can simply flash twrp and flash a new Rom.
He said the pic was not of his phone, but that was closest pic he could find on Google.......so I assume he has the Verizon model. Maybe he doesn't.....idk!

[Q] One M8 Stuck on Logo...Period

I am in need of some serious help. My AT&T M8 won't boot past the HTC logo screen and won't allow me to go into recovery or the hboot screen. I believe I may have wiped the OS on it; this is the only thing I can think of that makes sense. Furthermore, when I try to power down the device by long pressing the power button, it doesn't respond at all. It just stays on the logo screen. It was so bad that I just left it plugged in overnight and I don't have a clue as to how long it took to power off because I fell asleep before it did. If there's a video tutorial out there that someone has or simply a link that can show me how to install something via backdoor on this device, that would be great!

Recount as best you can, all the steps that got the phone to this point.
What were you trying to do when this happened?
Also, need much more info in order to help:
1) bootloader unlocked?
2) custom or stock recovery
3) custom ROM?
4) what hboot number?
5) s-on or s-off
6) did you make a nandroid with custom recovery?

Hold power and vol up for several seconds to force a reboot. The moment the screen goes dark to reboot, let go of those buttons, and just hold vol down. Don't let go until the hboot screen appears.
Thanks already. I didn't realize I had to hold down the volume down button after it goes dark. It got me into twrp. I believe I should be good from here after I download a new rom to sideload. But to give you a run down, I was prepping the phone to sell it by wiping the data and installing the rom the guy said he wanted on it. When I was going thru the normal procedure to install the rom (wipe, flash, etc) that's when the phone started sticking on the logo screen. My assumption was that I downloaded a bad rom, so since then I've been trying to get back into twrp so I can load a new rom and finally was able to after you told me this. I'll report back if a new rom actually didn't help the situation. I only thought I wiped the OS because something similar happened with my Note when I was tinkering and that was the result.

Hold power and vol up for several seconds to force a reboot. The moment the screen goes dark to reboot, let go of those buttons, and just hold vol down. Don't let go until the hboot screen appears.

So, it seems I'm still having the problem, even while trying to install cyanogen. Here are the answers to those questions...
1) bootloader unlocked?... YES
2) custom or stock recovery... TWRP
3) custom ROM?... It was a custom AOSP Rom
4) what hboot number?... 3.16.0.0000
5) s-on or s-off... S-OFF
6) did you make a nandroid with custom recovery?... It was erased
Any help you can give from this point would be awesome. Thanks again!

Failure to flash ROMs can often be solved with fastboot erase cache, then install TWRP by fastboot again. Update TWRP version, if you are using an outdated one.
Also, if you try to flash any ROMs based on Sense software beyond version 1.x (huge majority of them are past 1.x at this point) you will likely experience extremely long boot times (10 minutes or more) and broken WiFi due to outdated firmware. But CM should be okay.

It was erased, or you wiped it?
Okay. Do you suggest trying an older sense rom to see if it works? The last time touched the phone was when I picked up my Note 4, so I will look for something that predates that.
As for the nandroid being erased, I can only assume it was my actions that caused it to be deleted, but I don't recall intentionally doing it.

Sure, it couldn't hurt. With your current firmware, you will need a ROM based on 1.x software. There aren't a heck of a lot of those left. But there are a few. GoldenEye is one I can personally vouch for, since I was running it for a while back in the day:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2705640
But I would definitely recommend just trying fastboot erase cache and re-install TWRP first. I've lost count how many times suggesting this simple fix has helped other users here on XDA, when ROMs fail to flash.

Fair enough. Just FYI, don't do a factory reset in bootloader (in the OS settings or recovery is OK). On modded phones this may cause the internal storage to become corrupted. Nandroids have sometimes been lost this way. This may or may not be what happened to you. Just wanted to throw that out there.
Also, there has been the occasional occurrence of internal storage being corrupted, possibly by TWRP. It may not even have been something you caused.

Your in the stock recovery pal. Hold down the power and volume keys and you will eventually get some options on the screen. Once they come up use the volume buttons to scroll and power to select. Btw, i suspect you have a htc wildfire S not the htc wildfire. So this would be the wrong forum for you if your phone does not have a trackpad at the bottom of the screen (looks like a circle with a dot in it) then you have the S model.
HTC Wildfire
Thanks for Replying back Its not letting me to run recovery and on the top of it if the phone boots up it take almost 20 minutes to get to the home screen and it hang sup their itself you can't even do anything on it and i am trying to unlock the boot loader to run recovery and install custom rom on it but nothing working out. Okay, pull the battery out. Then put it back in after 5 seconds. Hold down volume down, then power and keep both pressed down until a wite screen with some writing comes up. There it should say hboot, a version number and s-on or s-off. What does yours say?

Ah ha! Fantastic whoever else had this phone before you has done most of the hard work and security unlocked the bootloader already. http://dl-1.va.us.xda-developers.c...zip?key=kzoSRLwAaSgJsyXiuKJS4A&ts=1431506306 download this and place it onto your sdcard. Reboot into hboot and your hboot should request you to update the recovery. Select yes with volume up. After this you should reboot back into hboot without the sdcard in. Then select recovery from hboot and boot into it.
Once your in recovery you could either:
1. Wipe the data, cache and dalvik cache and then reboot the phone. This will reset the phone and hopefully fix and voot related issues.
2. Wipe the phone entirely and install a new rom. Cyanogenmod 7 is a good lightweight rom. Please look at the development section for all the roms available.
Just one question though, that screen damage looks like bad. Do you know what happened?

http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?398dklf1uzss5f6 Updated link.
As I have said I recommend Cyanogenmod 7. Read the thread here Its a custom version but its more recent.
Now your screen, I suspect that those marks are from heat damage. Most likely from whoever else had the phone overclocking it. This could be a telltale sign of hardware damage through excessive use and it may never boot properly. I thought I should mention that.
Well i thats case would like to ask one more thing we will be able to fix it or not or its not worth it.

Depends, this phone is an old model as far as mobile phones are concerned. the cost of a motherboard and new lcd + digitizer could be the same cost as the phone in a used condition.
I work it out as £23.13 as the cheapest you could get the parts but then you would need to do a full tear down of the device in order to replace most of it. I mean basically your only keeping the frame, trackball, camera and some rubber bits.
Cheapest I can find to buy it in the uk is £25 ( with you needing to sim unlock it).
But I would add that you might as well try get cm7 on the device. The only thing it will cost you is time and you never know, the phone might be usable with CM7 on it. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
OK bro let me first give a try with the cm7 rom and see if its work and hoping for the best
