Hi, I am struggling trying to get CWM flashed without ODIN, my mini usb port is broken and I need to either brick my phone or get it back to stock for warranty purposes, but whenever I try to flash any of the custom recoveries available on the forum it fails the signature verification and doesn't actually flash CWM, so my problem is that I need to do everything without ODIN, many thanks in advance if anyone can help.

Hi! I have encountered a problem, and really hope someone can help me!
Two days ago i flashed Omnirom Nightly on my n7105 to get Android 4.4. I was running cmw recovery but couldnt get the ota updates to work, so i was trying to flash open recovery instead. I used an apk that was supposed to install a script.
When i rebootet my phone, all i could get was the Note 2 boot image. It wont boot into recovery mode, or the rom. I am however able to boot into download mode.
Custom Binary download: Yes (4 counts).
Current binary: Custom
System Status: Custom.
How should i proceed? I've already tried to reflash cwm recovery, which did work, but didnt solve the problem. I am currently downloading stock firmware, but the file is 1.2 GB so it will take i while. Figured i should ask here in the meanwhile.
I'm not an expert at Android at all, im just a guy enjoying having custom roms and playing around a little. I do know that there are a lot of very talented people in this forum, and i really hope someone can help me find a solution. I've been googling for hours, but cant find anything that seems to work for me / or i dont fully understand and wont risk try before someone approves it.
Thank you, Vetle
EDIT: Is it correct that i cant flash any custom rom trough Odin? Or could i just flash omnirom again trough Odin?
If i manage to flash the stock rom and the bootloop goes away, will everything go back to normal, so i can flash cmw again and then a custom rom again?
No custom rom can be flashed through odin, as most of them are zip cwm/twrp base.
When u can only go to download mode, an official firmware only can help u through odin.

Thanks for the answer!
Yup, i have flashed a stock rom now and i got the stock recovery. Everything was working fine.
Then i proceeded to do a factory reset in the stock recovery and flashed cwm trough Odin. When it was done, it wouldnt let me into recovery again! I can still boot up the phone tough.
I've also tried Open recovery. CWM via Rom manager. Open Recovery trough Goo Manager... Still cant get recovery to work, the stock rom works tough.
Any ideas?
Okay, i tried to flash the stock rom again and installed Rom Manger.
It still showes TWRP and CWM under installed recovery and i guess these its these two who makes the problem.
My plan now is to figure out how to completely remove them. I've never done anything related to adb before, so i hope it possible to remove them in another way?
This is so weird. Somehow i managed to install CWM Touch via Rom Manager and it booted. When i choose reboot /pull battery it will only boot straight into CWM again. I tried to flash TWRP via Odin, wich sucseeds, but then it reboots into CWM again!
I am soo lost its almost funny!
EDIT: Since i could get into cwm now, i tried to flash omnirom, but it aborts and all i get is status 7...?
EDIT2: Latest now is that i suddenly managed to install TWRP via Odin, but i still cant install the latest omnirom, all it says is "updating partition details".

I had recovery problems in the last few days also.
Installed DN3 rom using philz recovery, because its capable of prepare the phone to a new rom in a easy way.
It all went fine until first reboot.
I had a recovery boot loop. All I could see were some buttons and then reboot again.
Like you I had download access and flashed philz with Odin, but no luck.
Installed twrp via Odin and all was fine, and flashed philz new version.
Then I had to flash a new kernel (to be able to access wifi) and it all started again. Now I'm back on twrp.
Let's see what happens on my next flash.
My suggestion is to flash the recovery, and if that's OK flash the rom and use it
Next time you need recovery get Odin to help, but not all the way from an original rom. Just the custom recovery.
But if you want to get rid of your strange recovery configuration, and you are not already on new 4.3 recovery(which in your case could explain some of the problems you had) , with knox, install an older original rom, 4.1, and make all the steps, root it, install a custom recovery, and from there the room you want.
Reading your path sorting this problem, that was what would do next
Best regards
I tried to unroot my phone after getting stuck in a cyanogen bootloop a while back. I managed to get into recovery and install stock firmware via Odin. I did not however install the stock kernel or stock recovery. I am now in a stock t-mobile bootloop. I'm not sure what to do, I have been unable to get into recovery thus far, but I can keep trying. What can I do?

Can you get in Download mode? To work with Odin you must be in Download mode, not recovery.
If you can get in Download mode, then start Odin and flash a TWRP Odin flashable recovery:
http://teamw.in/project/twrp2/101
Then at least you should have a functional recovery. From there you could either try to flash your stock ROM again, or any another ROM.
Are you 100% sure what you flashed was a good stock ROM for the T989 ?
Dont you have a nandroid you could restore?
Hi all,
I am new here and I am having trouble with my Galaxy 3 SGH-I747 from at&t
I rooted the phone using KingoRoot and everything was fine.
I used the phone for about a week and decided to update from kitkat 4.4.2 to lolipop 5.0.
I have a micromax phone that is rooted and I didnt have any trouble updating it while it was rooted, so i figured it wouldnt be a problem but when I updated the s3 it said update failed at 94% and started rebooting and got stuck in an update loop.
I searched and searched and tried finding recovery options using odin but I cant find a 4.4.2 stock firmware, and cant find much information on recovering my device.
I am unable to boot in to recovery. I cant find a link for the SGH-I747 to philz recovery, the links all seem to be dead.
I can boot in to download mode.
I want to install a custom recovery via ODIN but i cant find one for my phone.
After I install the custom recovery, how will i know which stock OS my phone is currently at
I appreciate any advice you can give me, thanks.
Use TWRP for custom recovery. CWM and Philz haven't been updated in quite a while. You can get odin flashable tars from here.
Flashing TWRP should get you to working recovery, and you can find the rom zips you need to get back up and running in the development section here.
Unrooted stock will overwrite TWRP with stock recovery upon boot. Depending on how far your phone is getting into the booting process that might happen if you let odin auto-reboot. Your best bet is to uncheck auto-reboot in odin, so it won't restart on you automatically. Upon success remove the USB cable and pull battery. Replace battery and boot straight to recovery by holding home+vol up+power until you see tiny blue text in the upper left corner then releasing.
Thankyou! i was able to install the recovery by TWRP.
I just need to figure out what firmware to install and where I can get it... I was on kitkat, I tried to update to lollipop but it didnt work. My phone is bricked so I dont know how i would see the firmware version on it.
I really just want any kind of stable firmware that is rooted. Any ideas where I could find one? I'm trying to sift through the forums
Lots of ROMs are available here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3-att/development

I appreciate all the help - It seemed really hard because I was finding roms and flashing with ODIN but it always failed TWRP is giving me results. I flashed slimkat and got my phone working again! the only problem is my sound is a bit junky, idk why.
I plan on trying out Octos - M, because I heard marshmallow OS has a lot better battery life among other things
If i upgrade to a custom marshmallow OS, is there any coming back to a former custom OS like 4.4.2? or is it a permanent upgrade?
Do you guys recommend any custom OS? I need something stable, that uses the resources efficiently.
Before flashing additional ROMs, make sure the phone is running the latest bootloader and modem.
To verify the installed bootloader and modem, install the Samsung Phone Info app from the Play store.
With a custom ROM, you can flash from one to another, usually without any issues as long as you perform a complete wipe (system, data, cache) before flashing a new ROM. If you are upgrading an existing custom ROM with a newer custom ROM (e.g. CM12.1 2016-01-01 nightly to CM12.1 2016-01-02 nightly), you can just flash the updated ROM over the existing ROM.
Hi. I have the gt-n5110 and I've tried everything to get out of this bootloop. Everything meaning - i tried using adb toolkit but degugging is not enabled, i tried restoring back to stock rom, i tried flashing a custom rom- no matter what i do I'm still stuck in bootloop. I currently have CivZ-Touch-6.0.4.4 on the tablet- which is the only way I'm able to enter into recovery. Once i flash anything else i will no longer be able to get into recovery. So... i can enter download and recovery right now, Odin recognizes my tablet, but no matter what i flash- oh, and btw when i flashed the stock rom and custom rom both passed. What am i missing? I don't know what to do now.
Do i need to flash a pit file? Or?... I don't have much knowledge on this. Please help me out.
before /how i got here
i wanted to install a rom on my n5110
first I flashed twrp through odin and i could never access the recovery
so i tried to follow these instructions
https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/n5110/install
which use heimball (i have used adb before, and i did have some trouble installing himball on el capitan, but managed to install version 1.4.1 since then i found that maybe it doesnt work anymore)
this is where the trouble started after flashing i was unable to access stock rom or recovery and was stuck at boot image.
after that I tried to flash this rom via odin (return to stock)
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2773712
now...
somehow this failled and i ended up with a screen that reads (firmware upgrade encountered an issue. please select recovery via kies....)
since then I have tried flashing again via the above method which failled
and another stock (N5110UEEMF1 from https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2289441) which may have further confused things as realise that this is the out of the box stock and I was on kitkat
which gave the error " invalid magic string"
I have searched for a similar enough problem but not found please help
bump
Download the stock ROM from updato.com or sammobile.com and flash it with Odin. If it gets stuck in a bootloop after flashing the stock ROM, boot into recovery and perform a factory reset.
I recommend flashing with the original Samsung USB cable, a USB 2.0 port, and Odin 3.07.
