After a week with this phone i have so far loved it. I have found 2 issues while on a trip to Florida. 1 the GPS is good but from time to time it will give me cannot lock GPS signal (or GPS signal loss).
Secondly, for the past few days the phone restarts itself at least twice a day! I am running the latest 4.4.4 os (i did the stock upgrade when the phone prompted me there was one available).
Anyone else having these issue? (During the restarts, the phone is on standby with Stamina mode off). I only noticed it because i saw the Sony logo screen display and the phone turning on.

Hi guys. I've had the Desire for 2 weeks now, but only for one week has it been with a working Vodafone sim in it.
Everything has been jolly and nice, except for the battery life, but hey, I won't ask fr more than 2 days, until this evening when watching tv I realized my phone just woke up all of a sudden from standby. It did not unlock the screen, but it lit up. Only once did it say 'Network error' though.
I've got nothing on, like mobile internet, gps or wi-fi, everything is shut down except the network of course.
The weird thing is my friend said it has seen it do the same a week ago, when it didn't have a working sim in it and was just looking for networks.
I was just wondering if network errors can be a cause of it waking up, and if not, what else? I know the screen is still locked, but if it does that 100 times a day it will go through the battery like crazy and I am a bit worried.
THX.
This happened to me just know, at exactly 12, possibly autosync?
I know it does this if you have a low battery warning. Your screen will come out of standby, when you unlock you'll get the "Your battery has only x% remaining message".
The battery on mine was at 98% so it could not have been that. s for the auto sync, it was not open. So if it does that wthout me switching it on, what's the point of having button for it?
Any other thoughts?
So, it's been doing it every time it loses the network, damn vodafone. So, now, after accidentally calling from my pocket my boss and my family, is there anyway to disable the network notifications on the desire?
SO that it won't wake up anymore every time if loses and find again the dman network.
So I've had this problem for awhile now with the wifi disconnecting itself during standby. The other day I decided to start fresh and went did a complete wipe and reflashed CM (10.1 RC).
The problem did not present itself during the 1st or 2nd day, however yesterday I noticed the wifi signal bar went grey for a second and reconnected. So I checked my radio version and noticed it was a few months behind, downloaded the latest and flashed it. Problem didn't show up until the next day where the wifi signal briefly turned grey and reconnected.
Wifi settings are set to always stay on when screen is off and I've tried almost every combo of settings in the wifi menu to stop it. This is fairly annoying since when I have wifi turned on I do not get texts since I use GV. Yes, I can turn off wifi and use my phone's internet, but I have bad signal here and the speeds are extremely slow.
I'm not sure what the problem could be, I always thought it was a bad flash the first time I did it and it was a bug. I thought wiping everything and flashing an RC would fix the problems.
Any thoughts on what could be causing it? I'm on stock CM with no custom kernels.
Can anyone confirm random phone reboots while using GPS for long time? I experience it regulary. After and hour and half or two hours of using GPS (either in car for navigation, charging/not charging) or on bike for tracking (screen off) with endomondo).
I'm going slightly mad because of this. I thought initially that the phone gets overheated with charger, but it reboots even with screen off, not charging). My other guess was the navigation application, but it happens also with sports trackers (endomondo, strava). So definitely it must be a problem of GPS driver or hardware. I tried various ROMs, CM10 or .211 or .96 ports, but it happens all the time.
Does anyone have more info or in the best case a solution for this? Thanks a lot!
I gave it some more thoughts. I use GPS Status with permanent notification with status details constantly being updated. I uninstalled it today, maybe this was the issue. Please, can anyone confirm that GPS Status is the cause of problems or that GPS Status is working fine even for few hours of gps activity? Thanks
same problem
Hi,
i have two xperia ion with the same problem. When i use GPS for tracking on my bicycle with locusmaps or oruxmaps it alway reboots after a while, it works maybe 30 minutes or one hour but then it reboots. The same with Navigon navigation, always reboot after about 30 minutes. Both smartphones the same problem. Running on Android 4.1.2, i downgraded the phone to ics 4.0.4 but the problem was still the same.
Did you solve that problem??
Thanks
Peter

1. Bought it used - c6502. Phone arrived with around 10% battery, everything looked fine and then it kept shutting off every time I tapped the camera icon. It was on android 4.4.2
2. Charged to 100%, after hard resetting (using the button next to the microsd slot) couple times, it finally turned on, updated to 4.4.4, used it whole day without any problem and then google play services, xperia home, camera common or something simlar and whole bunch of craps stopped working when battery was around 20%. Phone was STILL on. So I turned off the phone and can't turn it back on now. Tried the hard reset button, Sony & the xperia logo show up, then I see the gray screen only. The on screen charging indicator shows around 3 bars which should be good enough to power up the phone, but it doesn't turn on! I'll let charge it fully and try again.
Can a bad battery stop all these services? or is it a software issue? As I said the phone was still on when all these services started crashing.
After reading some other threads, it feels like some kernels have battery drain issues ( I even don't know which kernel mine is running, used it for a day only). Should I try to flash a different kernel? Could you name a few that don't have battery drain issues? Or should I just get a new battery?
Thanks!
Hey all so far I've been loving the Oreo update for our Moto z Play. It looks nice, is functional and pretty comparable battery life to nougat. Yesterday however something changed, my phone went absolutely crazy and started rebooting itself. It rebooted maybe 25 times in an hour. Sometimes I could use it for a minute or two between reboots sometimes 10 minutes and it stopped almost as suddenly as it started. I've also twice had network signal drop on me completely and only rebooting the phone restored it. My signal bars completely disappeared and even in the notification area you couldn't see the data toggle anymore. Again reboot fixed this, but what's going on? This is completely stock from Motorola and i relocked my bootloader, so no mods whatsoever have been done.
Thoughts, comments idea's?
