I sold my Tilt the new owner put several Sim card in the Tilt and it doesn't work. The phone worked great with my sim card from my Bold. Providing that he has not damage it what do you think is the problem. I also had the same problem with a Mot w600. When the woman returned it to me it work fine with my sim. I resold it and never the new own did not have a problem.
The person who bought the Tilt is a ATT customer. They are sending it back and i will test it with my SIm and put it up for sale. But why would it not work for thier SIM
ANYBODY
Hi all,
I dropped my HTC Desire last week and broke the LCD screen. A replacement one arrived today and I swapped out the old for the new. Delighted to see my new LCD come to life. However, my delight was short lived as the SIM card would not be read. Tried my SIM card in another phone and it worked and tried another SIM card in the Desire with the same error message. So, I messed up somewhere along the line, more than likely with the flex cable part? Anyone got any tips on what I could do to see if I can get the SIM card picked up? The SD card slot is working fine - was able to boot to recovery and browse it, restore from backup, etc.
Any help appreciated, I'd hate to have to replace the phone having fixed the LCD screen.
thanks.
Hello Guys
6 months ago I bought my phone from the google store, never had a problem and always had the original firmware on it. 1 month ago I was in china and had a mini sim card on it with an adapter once i did put out the sim card and it broke the simcard reader I was in a rush and brought it to some chinese man to repar it,I though it was a small thing, then i go there to take the phone and i see that he replaced the simcard reader went home and find out that the phone doesn't get anymore signal and that the IMEI is not anymore there, what should I do?is the IMEI the problem?is there a way to put it back?I still have the original box, please let me know
SIM reader shouldn't affect the phone, at least as I know...
if the IMEI is not showing that I think there is some problem with the mainboard motherboard or call it whatever you want...
I saw some years a guy who managed to changed his IMEI with his phone to 1234567890123 and since then... he had a 5 minutes show of brick... but this is as far as I know...
still I don't understand this:

what does broke, what reader? you mean the slot where you put the sim card?
Hi all,
I have a Note 2 which was on O2 I purchased an unlock code on eBay and unlocked my phone using a friends micro sim which seemed to work fine. The only sim card I had is a nano sim so I tried to use one of those adapter trays and broke my sim reader in the process! So I replaced the sim card reader with a new one.
The phone seems to read sim cards now as it does not show the insert sim card error but it is not getting any signal and is showing the error "Not registered on network" when I try to dial. I have checked the hardware and the aerial is connected and undamaged. I have never altered the software on the phone and it is on the stock O2 4.3 ROM and the phone is not rooted.
Any ideas because I am at a loss...
Thanks
Doesn't any one have any ideas?
Hello, did some searching and found nothing quite like my situation so I decided to post a new thread.
I have the Galaxy S4 for T-Mobile. Model: SGH-M919.
So my phone worked great for awhile (I bought it almost brand new from a 3rd party for $350) but then the next thing I knew it gave me an error message saying "SIM card not inserted" or something very similar. Anyways, got a new SIM card, no worky , my old SIM works in other phones. Did a master reset, didn't fix the issue.
My SD card which is inserted into the same part as the SIM card gets inserted into works just fine. So I replaced the entire SIM reader and SD reader part with a brand new OEM part. Still nothing. Now i'm wondering if there is a software or some other fix for this issue.
P.S. I really don't want to pay Samsung $650 for a phone. I just want mine fixed.
Thank you :good:
