Hello Guys
6 months ago I bought my phone from the google store, never had a problem and always had the original firmware on it. 1 month ago I was in china and had a mini sim card on it with an adapter once i did put out the sim card and it broke the simcard reader I was in a rush and brought it to some chinese man to repar it,I though it was a small thing, then i go there to take the phone and i see that he replaced the simcard reader went home and find out that the phone doesn't get anymore signal and that the IMEI is not anymore there, what should I do?is the IMEI the problem?is there a way to put it back?I still have the original box, please let me know
SIM reader shouldn't affect the phone, at least as I know...
if the IMEI is not showing that I think there is some problem with the mainboard motherboard or call it whatever you want...
I saw some years a guy who managed to changed his IMEI with his phone to 1234567890123 and since then... he had a 5 minutes show of brick... but this is as far as I know...
still I don't understand this:

So about a week ago my note 2 started to not recongnize my sim card and so i went to the local store to see if my sim card had broken so he gave me a new sim card and I put it into my phone and it still says no sim inserted. So i assumed it wast the reader that had gone wrong and i bought the part to replace and one i had and looked up a video on how to do it. Well i think i did it correctly as nothing else on the phone went wrong but it still says no sim inserted even with the new reader, so now i am pretty clueless as to what the problem could be. Is there anything that i can do to fix it or is it more internally like the motherboard or something? Any suggestions or comments are much appreciated.
Thanks
Still don't know how, maybe I have insterted my sim in the wrong way, but this morning i couldn't take it out from the simcard slot. After taking it out, i noticed that the sim is now scratched. Since then, my phone doesn't read my sim anymore (tried with 2 different ones) I guess something's broken in the simcard slot. Does anyone know if it's expensive to replace it? I use an adapter for nanosim, I guess that's the problem (which won't be anyway unde warranty I think)
Hello Gibihr,
If I'm not misstaken tge simslot is mounted on the motherboard and to replace it you'll have to replace the entire motherboard.
Hope that you'll get your phone back up and running,

I've just got the Z1c so I don't know if the sim card reader is a part of the MB and certainly hope not. I had a similar experience with the xperia Go where I damaged the sim card reader but trying to insert a micro sim with an adapter instead of a normal sim. Anyways the phone was fixed at the customer care center by replacing the sim card reader. They charged me though...the equivalent of 20Euros...not too expensive. I hope your phone would be fixed the same way.

Try doing a factory reset.
If it's sold on ebay that means that it can be replaced.

Most likely it is and it will involve soldering.

Did you try simcard in diff phone first or try another simcard in the phone? Because ive had simcards die before. Might wanna try before you think about messing with internals
i was getting a "cannot detect sim car" error and the phone rebooting the other day. I took the sim card out, blew in the area and put sim card back and haven't had any issues since. Maybe try this?
Hi guys I have a problem with my S4, my Sim card is not detected, my problem start 1 month ago, when I come back from vacations fron Mexico, I have a message 2 times a day, " SIM CARD NOT INSERTED".
Unfortunaly my waranty is over last year, so T-mobile send me a new Sim card, and still have the problem.
The strange is that my phone can read a Sim card from Mexican carrier (Telcel), but my T-mobile no, I also tried a diferent Sim
from other carrier and is not detected.
Any ideas to fix this problem? Thank you for you help. I will apreciate.
This is a very common hardware problem. Should be a recall but apparently Samsung can get away with it.

Sorry for my bad English and thankyou for reading !
you can put tape on the sim card and then put it in, make sure its tight some times cage for sim card get loose and it wont press sim hard enough to read, or you can manually press and hold the sim card inside that sim card holder to see if that works, if thats not work then you have to get that sim card reader replace
Yes, that's work, thankyou so much bro !
