Hi guys, I got a Telus S3 i747m, Running Slimkat stable 6.0 with the latest Twrp recovery, with the MK5 modem and bootloader. I flashed the latest kt747 kernel for aosp , and i cant get ktweaker app to work. It always says it has stopped. Even if i reboot the phone and dont open ktweaker, it says it has stopped. The kernel does show in the about phone section.
I have tried clean installing everything over again multiple times(wiping internal/cache/dalvik/system/data), to no success. Any ideas?
Greatly appreciate the help!
Cheers!
I also have this issue. Just clear data from the settings and you should be good.
You should make a profile so you don't have to load the same setting everytime you clear.

Delete the folder manually.
If that doesn't work, manually give it root (or force root).

I also have the same issue for the first time. I tried to FC, clean, and reset to default, as well as, deleting the folder. None of that worked. I use the latest AOKP KitKat 4.4.4 6-28-2014 release with latest 7-3-2014 KT747 Kernel.
I wonder if it occured because I couldn't clean/wipe ART. TWRP only allowed me to wipe/clean Dalvik, but no ART, which I assumed are in 2 different locations, requiring specific type of wiping.
How do I give it root? Can it be done with SManager?

ART is experimental and shouldn't be ran other than for testing purpose.
As for giving it root, you should be able to do so in SuperSU.

I've run into a situation where my gn2 will not start an app when I tap on an app icon. Instead it just returns to the home screen. If I reboot it goes away for awhile. I've tried clearing the cache and the davlik cache, but it still happens. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Thanks for responding! I'm using the stock JB (with the recent update to 4.1.2). I'm rooted and have team win recovery 2.3.3.1 installed using Goomanager.
Do a full wipe of the device, both system and data, and re-flash your ROM. Clear all caches again too.

Thanks for that suggestion. Since I just recently installed the sammy upodate to 4.1.2 I was hoping there was another option to try. Your method may be what I will need to do.

Good suggestion. However it's not a particular app. It happens to all of them at once. When I reboot, it goes away (temporarily). I agree it may have started with a particular app, however I have no way (that I know) to figure out which one it is. I'm also only running apps I've used for a long time. Nothing really new which might have brought along some baggage.

Well based on this it sounds like a dirty flash to me. You should try a clean install of the ROM and gapps, reboot, then go back to recovery and flash the kernel, wipe cache/dalvik once again, fix permissions, then finally reboot, and see if that fixes the issue.

Inverted screen is a sure sign that somethings wrong with the kernel. Either download it again and flash, or switch to another kernel.

What ROM and kernel were you running before attempting to update?

Inverted screen is a kernel issue. Did Ktoonsez compile using a different kernel source? Sprint's variant handles screen rotation differently than the other three carriers. You sure you downloaded a Sprint version of Ktoonsez kernel, and not an ATT or other variants?

No and as he said, everything else works fine. If he were to flash Ktoonsez' ATT kernel he most definitely would have winded up in a brick. CDMA and GSM don't play nice at all together..

i pmed ktoonsez and he said exact same thing overstew said to check to make sure i downloaded correct carrier for kernal. im on sprint. i looked at the download i had it it was ATT. so once i flash the sprint kernel it should be fixed. i need to pay attention to which part of the forum i download from from now on.
Hello everyone, I've recently been given a T989D as a gift and have found limited amount of roms compatible. I have tried to flash AOKP MR1 and CM 10 with no luck. Device will boot up but setup and framework keep foreclosing. I have flashed these via TWRP 2.5 w/ a full wipe thanks to Infamous's Superwipe/cache. I prefer AOSP roms, so if anybody could give me some suggestions, it would be greatly appreciated. Currently on Northern lights.

Have you tried just performing a full wipe from within TWRP? Not sure if it'll make a difference or not.
Otherwise, you could try redownloading the files, or when the settings are force closing, reboot to recovery, wipe caches and reboot.

Yes, full wipe via TWRP, and have tried the superwipe method as well. So, CM10/AOKP is compatible with a T989D???
I've used Koodo roms on my T989, so I don't see why the reverse wouldn't work, at least with TouchWiz based roms. Not sure about aosp roms. I never used the scripts, don't think they are needed.

Hello,
I'm sorry if this is a repost of any sort . I am currently running a 4.1.2 rom and as it turns out any 4.1.2 rom that I run will have a functioning camera for my phone. However whenever I try to flash any 4.2 .2 rom on my phone the camera ceases to run correctly. I'm flashing the rom with clockworkmod touch and I have also tried flashing a camera fix I found on xda. I have even tried using third party camera apps, but those don't work either. Can anyone try to point me in the right direction or even try to help me troubleshoot this thing??
Thanks in advance

i'll begin with the question of what did you wipe before you flashed 4.2.2 and what ROM/release have you tried flashing?
Flash to factory stock and if ur camera still doesn't work it must logically be a hardware issue. Please guys correct me if I'm wrong

I had just updated cwm to the latest touch version about a month ago. After that I was still on stock TW 4.1.1. Then, I tried flashing a 4.2.2 jellybam v7.6 and the camera stopped working so I flashed back to stock and the camera worked fine. I then tried flashing to the latest realease of CM 10.1 nightly
about 3 weeks ago but the camera didnt work so I flashed to 4.1.2 CSROM v1.4 then 1.5 and the camera worked fine. So I then tried CM10.0 4.1.2 and the camera still worked so last night I flashed to the latest CM nightly and the camera stopped working. Any thoughts?

I did and it still works. So it can't be a hardware issue. It has to do with how my phone flashes the software because I haven't seen anyone else having the same issues with the ROMS that I have been flashing.

if the camera stopped working simply from updating your current ROM to the latest release than a wipe and reflash could possibly have ironed out this issue. this is assuming you dirty flashed the update. we all do that, but in the event things dont funtion properly afterwards, a wipe is required.

i would back everything up. you have a working nandroid to fall back on?
then i would fully wipe the device and start over. you seem to be having problems with 4.2.2, not specifically aosp. it appears aosp and touchwiz 4.1.1 and 4.1.2 are working for you. correct? when transitioning android versions, its basically required to wipe everything in order to avoid issues. make sure you have the latest gapps for 4.2.2. that may be your problem right there.
in the event you choose to wipe and reflash a 4.2.2 rom,
- backup your files
- have a nandroid, the rom you want and gapps on a micro sd card.
- boot into recovery
- wipe data/factory reset
- wipe cache
- wipe dalvik
- format /system
- format /data + media
- flash rom from external sd card
- flash gapps from external sd card
- reboot and let your phone sit a few minutes then reboot again. check it out.
you wont get any ROM support from devs on your issues until you come from a complete wipe. a hassle to set everything up again but it will likely be your fix. if not, we can go a different direction.
Alright I'll try this now. I will keep you updated

ROM: cm-10.1-20130521-NIGHTLY-d2att
Gapps: gapps-jb-20130301-signed
EDIT: The problem described in the post#11 has always been the case
i would do 1 of 2 things: flash this 4.2 camera zip in recovery and see if that camera and gallery work or flash a different 4.2.2 ROM like tasks. this will help determine if its just cm10.1 thats giving you grief.
if you download and flash the 4.2 camera, just wipe cache, dalvik and flash the zip. in the event you get a freeze up when taking a picture with auto-focus, you have to set the scene to "Action" mode.

Alright so I ended moving the gallery, then flashing the new camera app in CWM then wiped the cache and dalvik. No luck, so I tried restarting my phone, fixing permissions, and nothing worked. I then full wiped my phone and flashed Vanilla Rootbox, tested camera and it didnt work. It still said "Camera Error- Can't connect to camera" . . I flashed the camera zip provided followed by a cache and dalvik wipe but I got the same message. Following the above steps I did the exact same thing with AOKP and the exact same thing happened.
Is it possible that my phone just can't support 4.2.2?

Ok I've looked in every forum for some kind of help with this but nothing works. I tried reflashing the kernel doing a recovery tried to flash my old boot image but it was corrupt I tried to flash a stock kernel reinstall it that didn't work and I don't know what else to do every method I've tried continues to give me the unexpected error in the stweaks app I'm rooted stock with the perceus kernel running xposed on a att galaxy note 2 sgh i317.
I have the same issue but with Adam kernel 2.7. Really hope there is a fix to this problem.

Wondering if you made a back up of your Rom. If you did:thumbup:
Then try to flash another Rom, install your kernel of choice, then install Stweaks after that. Reboot then try running the app again! See if you get the same error!! Might just be some corrupt data in there causing you that problem!!
If problem persist then I'll recommend doing a full wipe of your system. If you want to have a clean slate too work from..

Ok the part about reinstalling data! If that's from a back up, that's not recommend!!
Restoring data is where you'll get your PROBLEMS!!!:banghead:
